UK: Gang of ‘youths’ try to set fire to 10-year-old girl in park

Authorities in the United Kingdom have launched an investigation into an incident last week which saw a gang of “youths” attack and attempt to set fire to a 10-year-old girl in a park.

The attack, which is said to have been “completely unprovoked”, took place last Sunday afternoon in Wirral — a borough in the greater Liverpool metropolitan area in Northwest England — as the young girl and her friend walked through the park, the Liverpool Echo reports.

According to a spokesperson from Merseyside Police, the young female victim and her friend had been walking through New Ferry park in the early afternoon hours on Sunday when a gang of youths aged around 12 and 13 set upon them. Both girls then had drinks thrown at them before the attackers attempted, unsuccessfully, to set the coat that the 10-year-old had been wearing alight.

Following the attack, the victim was left shaken and suffered minor injuries to her face.

Responding to the incident, Darren Taylor, the chief investigator for Merseyside Police, said: “This was a completely unproved attack and was a horrible incident for the young girl and her friend to endure.

“This type of behavior is in no way acceptable and I would ask parents of children living in the local area to speak to them and ask if they have any knowledge of the incident or those responsible so that we can take action.”

The incident has prompted widespread outrage both in and outside the local community, with hundreds of individuals sharing information online in an attempt to track down the perpetrators.

“This is vile behavior,” said Jackie Duddle, a parent who is local to the area, in response to the attack. “These monsters need to be punished, never mind saying they are only 10 and 12 years old, they are old enough to know what they are doing.”

Sara Devereux, another local parent, also expressed shock over the disturbing attack, saying, “I hope the young girl is okay. What is it coming to when young kids can’t go to a park, when we get nasty horrible little rats thinking they can go round abusing others?”

In his closing statements to the press, Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said, “We are carrying out inquiries in the local area, and I would ask anyone who was in the park or the surrounding area who saw anybody or anything suspicious to contact us.”

Investigators say they’re carefully reviewing CCTV surveillance footage and have requested that anyone with information about the assault immediately come forward.

Since 2017, Wirral has taken in more asylum seekers than any other borough in Merseyside county. According to figures released at the end of 2020, Wirral took in a total of 144 asylum seekers between January 2017 and March 2020.

EU funding: windfall for Islamists

In 2019 alone, “Islamic Relief Germany” received 712,000 euros from the EU Commission

The European Commission supports several associations that are rated as Islamist by the Federal Government or the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. Even though functionaries made anti-Semitic statements, EU funds keep flowing.

The assessment of the federal government was clear: Islamic Relief Germany (IRD) she stated in April 2019 that she has “significant personal connections to the Muslim Brotherhood or related organizations”. As early as December 2016, the Berlin Senate reported that the Muslim aid organization had acted several times as a sponsor of organizations that are close to the Islamist brotherhood.

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Aid is still working with IRD. It has certified the association as a “humanitarian partner for the period from 2021 to 2027”, with a budget that has not yet been opened. In 2019, the EU Commission provided IRD with 712,000 euros for projects in the field of earthquake and flood disaster relief.

“We take the accusation of the federal government very seriously,” said an IRD spokesman when asked. There are no concrete allegations. The association’s board of directors commissioned an investigation in October 2020 to check the allegations. The result is still pending.

In 2019, EU funds also flowed to other highly controversial organizations: The European Muslim Union (EMU) was funded with 90,367 euros for the Open project as part of the EU Commission’s Internal Security Fund Police. It is intended to serve the fight against Islamist online radicalization, runs until October this year and received a total of 508,936 euros in funding.

The founder and president of EMU is the lawyer Andreas Abu Bakr Rieger. In 1993, he said to supporters of an Islamist organization that was later banned: “Like the Turks, we Germans have often fought for a good cause in history, although I have to admit that my grandfathers were not very thorough with our common main enemy.” In 2007, Rieger apologized for the sentence in “Spiegel”, describing it as a “black spot” in his past.

Even today, however, Rieger presents photos on his homepage in which he poses with people who have attracted attention through anti-Semitic statements. Among them is the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammed Ahmed Hussein, who in 2011 quoted a tradition ascribed to the Prophet Mohammed, a hadith, in which it says: “O Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.” Rieger also appears on the net with Mahathir bin Mohamad, the former premier of Malaysia, repeatedly inciting against Jews. After the murder of French teacher Samuel Paty by an Islamist last October, Mohamad tweeted that Muslims have a right to be angry and murder millions of French people.

“The statements mentioned do not correspond to my convictions, nor are they in line with my own contributions,” said Rieger to the newspaper WELT AM SONNTAG. There was no substantive exchange with the Mufti. He met Mohamad for the last time in 2005: “I consider his current statements about Paris to be cynical and wrong.” On Rieger’s homepage, one can read that he has “a good relationship with the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, whom he also works as a lawyer represents legally in Europe ”.

The Kuwaiti news agency Kuna reported in November 2014 that the cabinet of the United Arab Emirates had classified the European Muslim Union together with 82 other groups as terrorist. When asked about this list, Rieger said that this accusation was absurd and that there was no justification for it: “I am shocked and upset by this tip.”

The “Weimar Institute for Humanities and Contemporary History” founded by Rieger is also part of the EU-funded project Open. It received a grant from Brussels of 67,547 euros. The government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania classified the association as Islamist in February 2017. In the Brandenburg Constitutional Protection Reports of 2009 and 2010, the institute was named in the field of “Islamist Extremism”. Rieger is ideologically close to an Islamist movement, it said in the 2008 report. On request, Rieger announced that the Weimar Institute had jumped into the open project since a partner left. At the time, he was not on the club’s board. A current retrieval from the register of associations of the Weimar District Court shows: Rieger has been a member of the association’s board again since July 2020.

Nicola Beer (FDP), Vice President of the European Parliament, is outraged about the cooperation between the EU Commission and the controversial organizations: “European funds must not fall into the hands of organizations that feed anti-Semitism or other hatred.” Monika Hohlmeier (CSU ), the chairman of the budget control committee in the EU parliament, demands that the commission carry out detailed screenings of all project participants: “EU funding for anti-Semites and Islamist anti-democracy opponents must have no place with us.” A spokeswoman for the commission announced that they do not finance any organizations who pursued an illegal or extremist agenda. In the event of a breach of the applicable conditions, it is possible to claim money back: “The Commission is committed to preventing radicalization.”

‘I know that you are an asset for our society,’ says French judge to youths convicted of firebombing police officers

After six long and trying weeks of closed hearings, and four years after the incident, the verdict has now been handed down for the 13 young people accused of having attacked and burned police officers with Molotov cocktails in Viry-Châtillon (Essonne) in 2016.

On Saturday evening, the Paris Assize Court for minors convicted on appeal five of the 13 young people tried for six weeks after firebombing two police cars during rioting. The court sentenced five young people to terms ranging from six to 18 years in prison and acquitted eight others.

According to sources present at the sentencing hearing, the judge began by addressing the accused and saying, “I know that you are an asset for our society.”

The reading of the verdict was interrupted by a fight in the box of the accused, which required the intervention of about 30 police and gendarmes. The clashes then spread in the courtroom, where the families of the accused were present. Order was restored after about ten minutes.

After 14 hours of deliberation, the five convicts were found guilty of attempted murder on persons holding public authority. Although the accused faced life imprisonment, three of them were sentenced to 18 years in prison, one to eight years in prison, and the last to six years. The other eight defendants were acquitted.

The court thus did not follow the requisitions of the Advocate General who had requested a single acquittal and sentences of 12 to 25 years of criminal imprisonment for the 12 other defendants, now aged 21 to 26 years.

The firebombing attack in 2016 provoked nationwide headlines and footage of the burned officers fleeing their vehicles were broadcast on prime-time news.

In the first trial, eight of the defendants had been sentenced to terms of 10 to 20 years of imprisonment and five others had been acquitted. The prosecution, which had requested sentences of 20 to 30 years in prison, appealed, claiming that the sentences “did not draw conclusions” from the “gravity of the crime” committed.

In addition to the police officers burned in the attack, others were hurt while trying to rescue them.

Violent acts against the police have doubled in the last 20 years, according to statistics from the government. Police officers have been consistently targeted, ranging from shooting incidentsriots, and group assaults, leading to calls from the country’s police unions for left-wing President Emmanuel Macron to enact reforms to combat violence against the police.

Finnish academic: Swedes will become a minority in their own country in less than 50 years

Swedes will become a minority in their own country in 45 years if current levels of immigration persist, the latest academic research on the country’s rapidly changing demographics has revealed.

Kyösti Tarvainen PhD, a retired Finnish professor and researcher in the Department of Mathematics and System at Aalto University in Helsinki, using the standard demographic method — the so-called cohort component method — concluded that Swedes will compose less than half of the population by 2065 if the country’s current levels of immigration remain unchanged.

In the next half decade, if current immigration policies endure, Sweden will see seismic shifts in its demographics, culture, and society, Tarvainen, who has his doctorate in engineering, says. According to the academic’s projections, there will be as many Muslims as there are Swedes in 2100.

In an editorial written for the Swedish newspaper Folkbladet, Tarvainen said: “The Swedish parliament unanimously decided in 1975 that Sweden is a multicultural country. At that time, more than 40 percent of the immigrants were my compatriots, Finns. The situation has changed. In 2019, 88 percent of net immigrants were non-Westerners and 52 percent were Muslims. Thus, a huge cultural change has taken place in the immigration population, as its largest group has changed from being Finns to being Muslims.”

Tarvainen, in his piece, draws a sharp distinction between Finnish immigrants, who share a similar cultural background and promptly assimilated into Swedish society, and non-Western immigrants, who are often never assimilate or fully integrate into the society.

“In reality, this means parallel societies with parallel cultures and ways of life,” Tarvainen wrote. “The immigrants unwilling to assimilate create many problems for the majority population. They give rise to reduced trust and social cohesion.”

The Finnish academic goes on to suggest that if and when Swedes become a minority, demographic change will only hasten from that point going forward because a foreign majority will help to facilitate immigration for members of their own ethnic group.

“Prominent Swedish engineers and businessmen will ensure that the Swedish economy does not collapse. But Swedish society and culture will lose their leading position.”

Tarvainen argues that the monumental demographic shift that is currently underway can be reversed; however, it will only happen if radical changes in the country’s immigration policy occur.

“We are in a historically unique situation, and we northerners must begin to discuss immigration and the preservation of our nation-states,” he said.

Sweden is one of many Western nation-states facing the daunting challenge of rapid demographic changes as a result of liberal policies which favor mass migration and higher birth rates among foreigners. Neighboring Norway is also undergoing rapid demographic transformation, but other countries throughout Western Europe are no different, with Pew Research predicting that the continent’s Muslim population could triple to 75 million in the next 30 years.

In the United States, Americans with European ancestry made up nearly 90 percent of the population in 1960. Today, they comprise under 60 percent of the population. According to the Brooking Institute – a prominent research group in America – European-Americans will become a minority as early as this decade if immigration trends aren’t reversed.

Central Europe has been at the vanguard of challenging western liberal notions that mass migration and population replacement are the answers to the continent’s dangerously low birth rates.

Officials inside the Hungarian government have repeatedly sounded the alarm about the extraordinary danger demographic change poses to Western Civilization. Earlier this year, Katalin Novák, Hungary’s Minister for Families Affairs, said that ‘the demographic crisis of the Western world” is one of its greatest challenges, and without drastic action being taken to support European families, then “Europe will be lost”.

‘CIA company’s’ surveillance software used by German police

In the shadow of the Corona crisis, the surveillance state in Germany is being systematically expanded. The controversial Palantir software, which was also created with funds from the CIA, has once again attracted negative attention. The monitoring software is already being used by the state police in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

The NRW data protection officer has now described their use as inadmissible and potentially illegal. The population is being distracted by the coming election, while the surveillance of citizens is progressing apace.

Edward Snowden has spoken of an “architecture of oppression” that is being installed in the shadow of the Corona crisis and that will not be dismantled in a post-Corona period, but threatens to exist long after the health crisis is resolved.

Control, surveillance and thus power and maintenance of power at any cost is only possible in the 21st century by means of complete control of the Internet. At the same time, the Internet enables direct access to the data of every citizen. The fight for the fundamental right to privacy demands that a stop is put this arbitrary state decision.

The basic idea is that personal data may only be used for the purpose for which it was collected.

But the Palantir approach is the opposite. The Bochum criminology professor Tobias Singelnstein described Palantir’s business model as follows: “To put it simply, the idea of Palantir is to lump everything together.”

The US secret service is openly investing in data analysis companies from Silicon Valley. In addition to investments in Google and Facebook, the secret service investment in the big data company Palantir is increasingly coming into the public eye.

In America, data from the military, secret services and police databases are already being mixed together and used to suppress insurgency in Afghanistan and Iraq. Gotham is the name of this controversial programme.

The Gotham programme from Palantir is a huge search engine that analyses and consolidates mass data from the Internet, monitored telecommunications, account movements, government registers and archives, and movement profiles. As a privately held company, Palantir is not required to reveal its finances or operations either.

The spying software is already being used by the police in Hesse, and at the beginning of January 2020 the police in North Rhine-Westphalia announced that they would also use the controversial software in the future. The initial value of the order is estimated at 14 million euros.

The basic right to privacy is thus in direct contradiction to Palantir’s corporate DNA, argued Stefan Schubert, who authored the article for the Kopp Report. “It is simply a scandal that the surveillance software of this company, which is well networked in transatlantic networks and in the political-media complex in Berlin, was bought by the German police with a double-digit million amount (tax money).” Had it been ensured that the software, as publicly claimed, would only be used against terrorists, for the most serious crimes and child abuse, Schubert said he would have been less critical.

But he said that the claim made by politicians that Palantir software is only used against terrorists and child molesters was simply not credible. In NRW it has now become known that the police are using the Palantir software in “test operations”.

The North Rhine-Westphalian data protection officer told German weekly Spiegel: “There is currently no legal basis for using the DAR software. If it is used with real data, it is illegal.”

The DAR software enables the comprehensive consolidation and analysis of data from different sources in order to generate new knowledge. By amalgamating different data sources, such as the residents’ registration office, the national weapons register, the driver’s license office, etc, the data protectionists assume so-called “data mining”. It is when huge amounts of data are “independently analysed for interrelationships in order to generate ‘new knowledge’ in this way”.

Tracking the movement profiles of millions of cell phone users in the country, which telecommunications companies have regularly transmitted to the state since the Corona crisis, is therefore not done on any legal basis. And now a controversial CIA company is also on board.

The Guardian recently reported on the activities of the controversial US company in Europe. Investor Peter Thiel used funds from the CIA venture capital firm In-Q-Tel to offer IT support to several European governments in the alleged fight against the pandemic.
