Germany: Dangerous Islamist released from prison because court sent a letter too late

In December 2018 the Frankfurt Regional Court sentenced the Islamist Bilal G. to three and a half years in prison – now he has apparently been released from prison. As the newspaper “Frankfurter Rundschau” reports, the 30-year-old has been at large since Thursday evening. His lawyer, Seda Basay-Yildiz, said: “Mr. G. is initially released on formal grounds because the Regional Court failed to deliver the verdict to his lawyers in due time – that is what we reprimanded. The lawyer wanted to appeal against the judgement to the Federal Court of Justice, but for this she needed a written version of the copy of the judgement. As the daily “Frankfurter Rundschau” further writes, it took the Regional Court more than five months to deliver the letter to Basay-Yildiz.According to the law, however, a decision on a person in custody must be made as quickly as possible. Bilal G. has now been in prison for one year and ten months and is accused of aiding and abetting a serious act of violence that endangers the state. He is said to have helped a student to travel to Syria to join Islamist fighters. The teenager was killed shortly afterwards.

In the church St. Johannes Bosco in Essen district Bochold there was a fire today Thursday morning.  Parts of the nativity scene, which is built up in the chancel, have been damaged by the fire. A volunteer worker who was preparing the church for the service planned for 8.45 a.m. noticed the fire and, with the assistance of another worker, extinguished the fire that had broken out in the rear area of the crib. A fire extinguisher and a watering can were used. The alarmed fire brigade removed the burnt remains to the outside and used a ventilator to expel the fire smoke from the church. The service had to be cancelled because the smell of burning was still noticeable after the ventilation. By opening all existing doors and windows, the remaining smoke is to be drawn off. As the responsible clergyman Father Rathgeber reported in the conversation, the last Holy Mass will be celebrated in the church on June 21 this year.By opening all existing doors and windows, the remaining smoke is to be drawn off. Aggressive man shouting “Allahou Akbar” arrested on Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris

Travelers heard the man, agitated, shout “Allahou Akbar”, causing panic on board the high-speed train this Wednesday. Some passengers heard him shout “Allahou Akbar”. Dutch police announced on Wednesday that they had arrested a man who behaved “aggressively” towards travelers on a Thalys train connecting Amsterdam to Paris. No weapons were found, however, and no one was injured in the incident, which resulted in the temporary shutdown of the high-speed train at Rotterdam station, the port city police said. “On a train from Amsterdam to Paris, a 28-year-old man behaved aggressively this morning [Wednesday]. Travelers heard the man shouting Allahu Akbar, and panic broke out briefly, “said Rotterdam law enforcement officials on their Twitter account.“The man has been arrested and the police are investigating the case. There were no injuries and no weapons were found, “they added. According to Dutch public television NOS, the police said that the man “had behaved in a confused manner and shouted strange things”.The Dutch national railway company NS said the train, which had left Amsterdam at 6.15 a.m., was stopped for half an hour in Rotterdam, before continuing on to Paris. In 2015, a few months before the attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris, Ayoub El Khazzani, mounted in Brussels station, opened fire inside the Thalys, armed with a Kalashnikov and nine full magazines. He injured two people before being overpowered by passengers, including the United States military on vacation. The foiled attack was even the subject of a film directed by Clint Eastwood, “3:15 pm for Paris”.The radicalized man had previously visited Syria, where he had been spotted by Abdelhamid Abaaoud, coordinator of the Islamic State group’s cell that struck France and Belgium in 2015 and 2016.

Berlin’s high murder rate makes it an ‘unworthy capital’

The AfD has given the other parties joint responsibility for the high murder rate in Berlin. “Berlin has become an unworthy capital and a prime example of what decades of colorful old party rule has bad consequences,” said Deputy AfD chief Stephan Brandner on Monday.Criminal clans and gangs have “made Berlin their own”. A study published by the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) at the end of December compared the number of murders to 100 000 inhabitants in 16 European capitals in 2016. Berlin came first with a value of 4,4. Paris followed with 2,4 and Brussels with 2,2. According to the Berliner Zeitung, around half of those involved in this particular heinous crime were not German citizens during the period mentioned. Both 48 percent of the victims and almost 52 percent of the suspects were foreigners. “The fact that more than half of the suspects have no German citizenship shows once again where uncontrolled mass immigration can lead to,” Brandner said. “This is not the Germany we want.” However, there has been criticism directed at the work of the study’s authors. The DIW used the figures from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OSCE) for Berlin. The police crime statistics for 2016 show 37 completed murders. This would bring the value down to 1,0 instead of 4,4, the Berliner Zeitung calculated. However, if one summarizes the number of “crimes against life”, one comes to 167 and thus the mathematically correct value 4,4. In this category, however, not only murders or homicides are counted, but also negligent killings, less serious homicides or killings on request. However, over the course of Monday, the OECD announced that it would review the numbers. “The data on homicides are reported to the OECD by the national authorities. In fact, in international comparison, the murder rates appear unusually high for the German federal states,” OECD spokesman Matthias Rumpf told the newspaper. “We are checking whether the figures have been reported in accordance with the OECD standards.” Berlin is also the bottom of another comparison among European capitals. The Institute of German Business in Cologne calculated the so-called capital effect in a European comparison at the beginning of 2019. The value describes the loss of per capita economic output that a country would suffer without its capital. While per capita economic output would decrease without their capital in all other countries examined, it rose by 0,16 percent in the case of Germany. In 2014, the city state Berlin had 37 368 live births (+6,6%), a record number since 1991. The number of deaths was 32 314. Almost 2 million households were counted in the city. Some 54 percent of them were single-person households, while more than 337 000 families with children under the age of 18 lived in Berlin, suggesting that foreigners – mainly Turks – and liberals were concentrated in the capital. An estimated 350 000 Muslims reside in Berlin, making up about 6–10 percent of the population. In 2014 the German capital registered a migration surplus of approximately 40 000 people. On 31 December 2015 the city-state of Berlin had a population of 3 520 031 registered inhabitants. Berlin in 2009 was estimated to have up to 250 000 non-registered inhabitants.

The German public broadcaster ZDF simply named Islamist terror ” dispute”

Is the Islamist terror for the German television channel ZDF only a “clash of civilizations”? The public broadcaster is criticized for its bizarre headline: In an article on the anniversary of the terror attack on the French satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” (January 7, 2015, 12 dead), ZDF lists violent reactions of Islamists to caricatures, writings and films critical of Islam. For example, the article mentions the film “Submission” by Dutch director Theo van Gogh († 47), who was brutally murdered by an Islamist in 2004. Or the cartoons of the Dane Kurt Westergaard (84 years old), who only narrowly escaped an Islamist assassination attempt in 2010. The article also mentions the attacks in concert halls in Paris in 2015 (130 dead) and in Manchester in 2017 (23 dead), which were carried out by the ISIS terrorist militia out of hatred of the Western world. The headline of the article caused outrage: “Almost 30 years of dispute in retrospect”. In a tweet, ZDF also praised the article with the words: “This was the dispute between the Islamic and Christian worlds” (Screenshot above).Cartoons on one side, terrorist attacks on the other. Is this really a “quarrel” for ZDF? Historian Michael Wolffsohn (72 years old) has strongly criticized it. “This is not a dispute between the Islamic and Christian world. This was and is a conflict between intolerance and tolerance, contempt for humanity and human dignity, open and totalitarian society,” Wolffsohn told the tabloid BILD.The historian continues: “In that case, ZDF, like many others and so often in this country, deliberately uses the typical head-in-the-sand language. With its help – unfortunately – existing conflicts are to be played down.”

The Islamist who was shot wanted to build a “place of prayer for Allah” in the forest in Gelsenkirchen, Germany

According to North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul of the Christian Democratic Union, the assailant who was shot was 37 years old, a Turkish citizen, divorced and arrived in Germany in 2002. Reul remained sceptical about the motive because the investigation is still ongoing. However, an Islamist motive is being suggested because twice before, the assailant had already become a ” case for Islamism” at the State Security of the Gelsenkirchen Police. Both times the suspicion of being a violent Islamist could not be confirmed. He was therefore not considered a ” dangerous person”. Reul emphasized that the police authorities initiate about 10,000 such cases annually nationwide, according to indications. The security authorities take even the ” slightest indication at all” seriously, he said. Reul reported that the man first came to suspicion in January 2018, when he cleared an area of wood from an area of forest in Gelsenkirchen and dug around. He wanted to build a “place of prayer for Allah” there, he explained to the called police officers at that time. He is now in the “Islamic state”, and “Nazi Germany” has “destroyed his brain”, he is said to have told them. He seemed mentally confused to the officials, but he also showed them the certificate of a psychiatric clinic where he had apparently been treated and which showed him to be harmless.A year later, in January 2019, the police questioned him again and he declared that he was now completely committed to Islam and was a missionary. Both times, the officials saw no legal means to take further action against him. He also became known to the police for various offences, including assault and resisting police officers. Last year he was sent to prison for two months in the spring. This was a prison sentence in exchange for an unpaid fine for insulting and damaging property.

WATCH: German police shoot suspected terrorist in Gelsenkirchen

The Gelsenkirchen police shot a suspected Islamic terrorist. The 37-year-old Turk, who had most recently lived in Gelsenkirchen, attacked the police in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday evening armed with a stick and a knife. As eyewitnesses in the Bild newspaper reported, the perpetrator ignored police warning calls and shouted “Allahu Akbar”. However, the police described this as “rumors” that have not yet been confirmed. At the same time, “a link to Islamist terrorism cannot be ruled out”. The man had become violent. “A man ran past the patrol car and suddenly hit the car with a stick,” said police spokesman Christopher Grauwinkel. “The officials immediately asked him to stop. But the man continued his attack on the officers with his arm raised and his stick.” One of the police officers then drew his service weapon and shot the man. Attempts to revive the suspect failed.
