A man armed with a meat cleaver attacked and wounded two people on Friday who had stepped out for a cigarette in front of the Paris office building where Islamist militants gunned down employees of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo five years ago.

Police detained the man suspected of carrying out the attack soon after with bloodstains on his clothes next to the steps of an opera house about 500 metres (yards) away.

French officials said the attack was terrorism. A police source told Reuters the suspect was 18 years of age and of Pakistani origin.

A second suspect was detained and prosecutors were trying to establish his relation to the knife attacker. The second man is Algerian, according to the police source.

The staff of the magazine issued a statement expressing their support for the victims of Friday’s attack. “Far from terrorising us, such events should make us even more assertive in the defence of our values,” the statement said.

In the latest sign that France is undergoing profound demographic shifts, data from last year shows that 21.53 percent of newborns in France were given Arab-Muslim first names, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) showed.

Over the past 50 years, the ratio of Arab-Muslim first names for newborns rose almost constantly from 2.6 percent in 1969 to the current 21.53 percent, and the rise has been uninterrupted for the past 22 years beginning in 1997.

French news aggregator portal Fdesouche, which mainly shares stories on security policy, domestic politics and community issues, said in its analysis of the data that taking into account that one-in-three newborns had exotic names with foreign orthography, the real ratio of Muslim first names could in fact be closer to 25 percent.

Other studies have put the French official birthrate at 1.4 children per woman and the Muslim birthrate between 3.4 and 4 children per woman, with French economist Charles Gave predicting a Muslim majority in France in 40 years, but organizations such Pew Research say that the birthrate for Muslim women is lower, coming in at 2.8 children per woman.

In 2018, a study from Le Point confirmed that a minimum of 18 percent of all newborn children in France had Arab-Muslim first names, pointing to the steady growth of this demographic in the span of just a few years. 

France’s other 103 department which have a higher-than-average ratio of Muslim given names are the densely populated southern departments of Rhône, Bouches du Rhône, Alpes Maritimes, Vaucluse, Gard, Hérault, and Loire as well as the Belfort and Loire industrial regions.

The top ten most popular first names identified as Muslim or mixed in France are Adam, Ines, Eden, Mohamed, Sarah, Nael, Rayan, Soan, Inaya, and Yanis.

France already has the largest Muslim population of any European country, with Pew Research estimating 5.7 million Muslims lived in the country as of 2016, however, Pew predicts that that the Muslim population could grow to 12.6 million by 2050. 

This week, National Rally MEP Nicholas Bay said that high levels of immigration to France are unsustainable.

“If you add legal and illegal immigration, that’s over 400,000 arrivals each year… We cannot go on with such immigration,” Bay, who serves as the European deputy of RN, remarked as a guest on “4 Vérités” of France 2 on Sept. 21.

Statistics appear to back up Bay’s points about high levels of migration to France, a country which already has the largest Muslim population in Europe. For example, 276,576 new residence permits were issued in 2019, according to the French Ministry of the Interior. In addition, 132,700 new asylum requests were made in 2019. With both figures added together, it equals over 400,000 new entries into France, and does not even include illegal migrants who have not filed for asylum applications.

Last year, French political scientist Jérôme Fourquet explained to French publication Le Figaro that declining birthrates, as well as immigration, are behind France’s demographic transformation.

He pointed to the fact that there were 70,000 fewer children born in 2019 than in 2014 ,while at the same time, migratory flows are contributing to demographic shifts that accelerated in the 2000s.

Since France does not keep official data on the ethnic composition of the country, researchers have resorted to the study of first names and examined religious affiliations in order to ascertain France’s true demographic picture. 

“The study of the prevalence of types of first names among newborns makes it possible in particular to aggregate the strength of legal and illegal migratory flows, because, with some exceptions, all children born on French soil are registered with the INSEE [France’s national statistics bureau], even if their parents are illegal,” Fourquet added.

In July of this year, a commission set up in the French Senate issued a report about the spread of radical Islam in France and its effect on society. The report warned that nearly every region of the country is affected by radical Islam.

The media reacts quickly and with righteous indignation when a black person is shot by police, or by someone white, no matter what the facts of the case are.

But far too often, even in the most heinous of cases, when the perpetrator is black and the victim or victims happen to be white, the headlines and reporting are not anywhere near the same.

We have seen it in the case of 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant, who was executed by a black man in August, and we are seeing it again in the death of a 4-year-old white child in a targeted attack by a black man, WKBN reported.

The shooting occurred in Struthers, Ohio, on Monday at around 1:55 a.m., Four adults were also shot and are hospitalized: Andre Stephon McCoy, Jr., 20, Yarnell Green Jr., 30, Cassandra Marsicola, 20, and Alexis Schneider, 22, of Struthers.

The suspect, 24-year-old Kimonie Bryant, turned himself in to police after a massive manhunt began to find him.

The father of the deceased 4-year-old child spoke at a press conference prior to the suspect turning himself in.

“Rowan was the sweetest boy,” he said. “’Rowan was the best. He is so young. He didn’t deserve any of this… buddy, I’m so sorry for you, buddy. I love you.”

“Just be a man,” David Sweeney said as he held a photo of his son. “You took my son from me. He was my baby boy. You took him because you’re sick.”

“You took my son from me…you can live with that for the rest of your life,” he said before the name of the suspect was announced.

Authorities believe Bryant gained entry to the home via the front door and started shooting in the living room prior to fleeing on foot, Fox News reported.

One of the male victims was hit with two shots in the back of the head while another was struck two times in the back.

The women, who were described as friends, were hit in their legs and have been cooperating with the police in the investigation.

On the 9-1-1 phone call after the shooting, a woman is heard screaming, “My son is dead” as the person on the phone pleaded for help.

Neighbors reported hearing between five and eight gunshots but said that they did not get a good look at the suspect.

“This is Struthers, and this kind of stuff doesn’t usually happen. He was an innocent 4-year-old boy who deserves justice and deserves to be remembered,” neighbor Eric Rebic said.

What remains sad is how silent the mainstream media has largely been on the story. Imagine if the suspect was white and the four-year-old was black.

Imagine the media reporting on it, the protests, the riots and the looting, and the chants of “burn it down.”

But that did not happen for Hinnant and it is not happening for Sweeney. We often hear that black lives matter, and they do, but does the media believe anyone else’s life matters?

The report claims unspecified records show that Biden “has sent funds to non-resident alien women in the United States who are citizens of Russia and Ukraine and who have subsequently wired funds they have received from Hunter Biden to individuals located in Russia and Ukraine.”

“The records also note that some of these transactions are linked to what ‘appears to be an Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.’ ”

This would be consistent with the moral character Hunter Biden has exhibited.

Last year, The Post exclusively revealed that a woman who was suing Biden for paternity in Arkansas was a former stripper at a Washington, DC, club that he frequented around the time he was dating the widow of his late brother, former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden.

DNA confirmed that Biden is the father of the stripper’s baby.

Normally, people are not responsible for the behavior of their relatives. But due to Joe Biden’s apparent involvement in the highly remunerative situations his power allows his relatives to exploit, their illicit activities are pertinent to the election. Everyone remembers Joe Biden openly boasting that he used the threat of withholding taxpayer money to bully Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was sniffing around Burisma.

To the extent the liberal establishment media refuses to report on this, it is engaging in journalistic malpractice.
