“My only regret from this situation is that I will have to explain to my two kids that their father is going on trial not because he is a criminal, but because he defended his country”, Matteo Salvini said as Italy’s Parliament stripped him of immunity to open the way for his trial.

For years, Italy’s political ruling class has had a migration policy of surrendering to floods of illegal immigrants — who have usually been organized by criminal traffickers. Europe has never offered Italy a jot of help. Now these “elites” — politicians, opinion makers, journalists — have decided to turn Salvini over to the judges for doing what they did not have the courage to do: defend the Italy’s borders.

Salvini now faces up to 15 years in prison for “kidnapping.” The charge against Salvini dates from 2019 when, as Italy’s interior minister, he prevented illegal migrants from disembarking from a coast guard ship that had recovered the migrants at sea five days earlier. Salvini declared that he was defending his country and would do the same again. “I go with a clean conscience, with the pride of knowing that I defended the honor of Italy,” he wrote on Facebook.

As interior minister, Salvini took a hard line on migrants. He closed Italy’s ports to rescue ships and passed a law that allowed vessels carrying migrants to be seized and fined.

On July 26, 2019, Salvini called for stopping the disembarkation of migrants aboard the Gregoretti as it was reaching Sicily’s east coast. “I have given instructions that no port will be assigned before there is a redistribution across Europe of all 140 migrants on board on paper,” he said. Immediately after it landed — a few European countries had agreed to take the migrants — a public prosecutor opened a file against Salvini for kidnapping.

“The wait for the landing was necessary to agree on the redistribution in other European countries, with the full involvement of the Italian government”, Salvini later justified his decision. Italy at the time was desperately in need of a migrant redistribution agreement in Europe. Europe had, until then, not offered Italy the slightest help. Salvini saw, as Albanian Premier Edi Rama said, that “Italy has been left alone by Europe on migrants”.

Although it might sound melodramatic, what is at stake, as Salvini understood, is, bluntly, the survival of Italy as we know it. According to a report by the Machiavelli Center, if current trends continue, by 2065 first- and second-generation immigrants will exceed 22 million, or more than 40% of the total population of Italy, whose birth rate is “collapsing“.

This is the first time that a court of justice in Europe has been called upon to try a governmental minister — whose job it is to be responsible for the security of a country — for holding migrants at a port pending a redistribution of newcomers across Europe.

There seems to exist an assumption that tens of thousands of people can take boats from Libya to Italy without controls, without deterrence, and without a country being able to exercise its right to self-defense from an epochal migratory tsunami.

By closing the borders, fining the NGOs and making it more difficult to reach the Italian shores, Salvini was able to reduce the number of arrivals in Italy, but sometimes tragically at the cost of deaths of migrants in the Mediterranean. When, however, did it become the obligation of countries to help the illegal people-smuggling industry?

When Italy adopted Salvini’s immigration policies in 2018, the number of migrant arrivals to Italy did dramatically decrease. The number of arrivals went from 119,369 in 2017 to 23,370 in 2018 — a drop of 80%, according to the United Nations.

Last year, however, after Salvini’s departure, the number of migrants tripled. According to the Ministry of Interior, in 2019, when Salvini was interior minister, 7,894 migrants arrived in Italy. Now, in just the first nine months of 2020, 24,332 migrants have landed and are freely flowing throughout Italy and on to the rest of Europe.

Italy recently had to send troops to stop migrants from breaking a coronavirus quarantine. From Salvini’s “closed ports” to anarchy, the step has been short.

The day after the beginning of Salvini’s trial, the government softened the former Ministry of Interior’s rules penalizing NGOs that bring illegal migrants ashore.

Most importantly, Italy is sending a disturbing message to Europe and the rest of the free world: anyone who, by governing the country, defends national borders and tries to stop mass illegal immigration can end up on trial and in prison. We are witnessing the suicide of a country and a continent.

The real horror in this charade is that Italy is still turning away ships carrying migrants, so why is Salvini being set up to take the fall?

Yet another one of the conspirators indicted in the plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has turned out to be an anarchist and this time is an identified Black Lives Matter, Inc.™ supporter.

If you’re keeping book, that now means at least three of the six men indicted by the federal government for the frightening conspiracy to kidnap the governor from her vacation home are avowed anti-Donald Trump anarchists and at least one is a BLM protester. When half the conspirators rolled up by the feds are anarchists, this is what you might call a pattern.

The BLM connection comes from no less than The Washington Post, which buried the lede of its own story by headlining its piece, “Accused leader of plot to kidnap Michigan governor was struggling financially, living in basement storage space,” as if living in a basement was the most surprising thing about the conspirator. Indeed, we can be assured that if one of the conspirators had attended a Trump rally that would have headlined the story.

One of alleged plotters, 23-year-old Daniel Harris, attended a Black Lives Matter protest in June, telling the Oakland County Times he was upset about the killing of George Floyd and police violence.

Parker Douglas, a lawyer for Harris, said his client was a former Marine who lived at home with his parents and did construction work. Douglas said Harris told him some things described in the FBI affidavit were taken out of context while others he “thinks just didn’t happen.” Douglas said his client believes “not everybody mentioned in this knew everything that is described in this complaint.” He said his client, in a brief meeting, had suggested he had voted for candidates from both parties, had not expressed a view on President Trump and seemed to favor small government. Being upset with police and government overreach isn’t exclusive to one political party, as the conspirators’ affiliations show. Sometimes the sides come together as in the case when anarchists gave a momentary sympathetic ear to the defendants in the Bundy Ranch case. Conspirators were upset over Whitmer’s draconian COVID-19 lockdowns and her hypocrisy of ordering people to stay home when her family seemed to defy her own orders. Leftists all over the country have defied lockdown orders to congregate en masse and riot. Conservatives, Jews, and Christians have held protests to counter the lockdowns preventing them from going to their places of worship and peaceably assembling. Both sides don’t appreciate tyranny, it turns out.

The Post reported that the other seven defendants brought up on state charges wanted to start a civil war.

The plotters, according to an FBI affidavit, were motivated in part by their belief that state governments, including Michigan’s, were violating the U.S. Constitution by imposing restrictions to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus — and they referred to Whitmer as a tyrant. As their anger mounted, they trained together with firearms and experimented with explosives, discussing plans to storm the state capitol building and attack police officers in their homes, authorities said.

The Post tried to insert into its story that the head of the group brought up on federal charges, Adam Fox, was a white supremacist, but offered no tangible support for the allegation except a theoretical, third-hand observation. It certainly could be true considering the mostly white anarchists and antifa rioters, who use the same “anarchist A” symbol as the conspirators, certainly seem to be bigoted. They’re bigoted against white people with views different than their own, and believe black people need white Leftists to speak on their behalf. When politicians say white supremacists are the real problem in America, maybe it’s these people they have in mind.
To add to the intrigue, one of the alleged conspirators was pardoned by the Democrat governor of Delaware last year, a point brought up by Trump campaign lawyer Jason Miller, who asked,

The group indicted on both federal and state charges like to shoot their guns in the woods on private property and were clearly scary individuals seemingly capable of doing dangerous and violent things as was clear in the indictments handed up on Thursday.

On the day the FBI announced indictments against six men for plotting to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, she outrageously and irresponsibly blamed the plot on President Trump. Republican stalwart Richard Viguerie has joined the chorus of people calling called on Whitmer to issue a public apology to President Trump for the slander.

Germany is shaken up every day in different ways by new “ethnically diverse individual acts”. And it is no longer different in the leftwing SPD-ruled, anti-German Karlsruhe.

On Wednesday morning, a 32-year-old Gambian attacked a German in the city. The murder weapon was a beer bottle, which the African not only used to strike with, but also to slit open the victim’s throat.

The act took place in the bus stop area of ​​Karlsruhe main station. There the Gambian hit the 22-year-old on the head several times until the bottle broke. In the further course of the attack, the victim is said to have been severely injured in the neck area.

Fortunately, the young man survived and was immediately taken to the nearest hospital. The African migrant was arrested and brought before the competent local court. The cause of the dispute was not given.

The polls have not been kind to Donald Trump this election year. Many polls in key states show him trailing Joe Biden.

But a lot of those polls are within the margin of error. It’s still anyone’s race and you can only pray that the Democrats will get overconfident the closer we get to Election Day.

Every once in a while, a poll shows that the American people haven’t given up on Trump quite yet. Gallup’s latest is a good example. A clear majority of 56 percent believe they’re better off today than they were four years ago.

But when they were asked whether they were better or worse off toward the end of Obama’s first term in the White House, only 45 percent told pollsters their situation had improved over the four years between 2008 and December 2012.

A slightly higher 47 percent of voters said their lives had gotten better at the end of Bush 43’s first four years in office, putting him nine points above his father George Bush Snr. in October 1992.

Even Reagan’s numbers before his 1984 re-election contest weren’t as good as Trump’s. Just 44 percent thought they were better off at the end of the Gipper’s first term than four years before.

According to Gallup’s new poll data, nearly half of voters said they agreed with Trump’s stances on key policy issues, putting him three points ahead of his Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

But Americans were also more likely to feel that Biden had presidential qualities lacking in Trump. Forty-nine percent said that the former vice president had presidential traits, while only 44 percent said the same of Trump.

There is a disconnect here not easily explained.

The FiveThirtyEight national poll tracker has shown the Democratic nominee’s average lead over Trump growing since the start of this month—up from eight percentage points to around 9.5 percentage points at the time of writing.
According to the weighted average, a little more than half of Americans (51.9 percent) intend to vote for Biden on November 3, while 42.2 percent say they will backing Trump for a second term in the Oval Office.

In fact, it could very well be that there are a lot of silent Trump supporters out there terrified of telling anyone they back him. But will they go to the polls to vote for him? That’s the only true measure of Trump’s support and no one knows the answer to that question.

One 28-year-old suspect has reportedly surrendered himself to police Friday morning after he and two other unknown suspects were involved in shooting and seriously injuring two police officers in the Herblay district in the suburbs of Paris.

It is unclear what role the man who surrendered to the police may have played in the shooting of the two officers, but the other two suspects remain on the run. The men involved in the shooting of the officers have been described as an African male, another man of mixed race appearance with curly hair, and the last one described as North African with a shaved head, according to a police source speaking with French newspaper Valeurs.

The shooting of the 45-year-old male officer and another 30-year-old male officer, which occurred on Wednesday evening, happened while the officers were checking on an address in the Cergy-Pontoise neighborhood of the DRPJ in Versailles as a part of an investigation.

The condition of the younger of the two officers is more severe.

According to the statement of one of the two victims, the three perpetrators thought that the police officers in civilian clothes belong to Roma. After the officers denied the accusation, the attackers pulled the policemen out of their car and beat them up. During the fight, the perpetrators stole the service weapons of the officers and shot at them several times. 

When emergency services arrived at the scene of the attack, the medics observed that that one of the officers suffered head trauma and found two bullet holes in the knee and thigh. He was then transported to the Pontoise hospital center with his life-threatening injuries. The second officer was unconscious after being struck by four bullets in the abdomen, knee, and both thighs. He also suffered from a fractured skull and was transported to Beaujon hospital in Clichy.

On top of the service weapons, the wanted individuals also stole a radio transmitter, a secure phone reserved for law enforcement with protected communications, a mobile phone, and damaged the police vehicle. At the scene of the crime, seven cartridge cases and a 9mm caliber cartridge were found.

The suspect in custody told police that he and the other two men were highly intoxicated when they believed that the officers were actually Roma people posing as officers. 

Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin went to Cergy-Pontoise to provide support to the colleagues and families of the victims. He called the attack on the two policemen a “massacre,” adding that the clear intention of the perpetrators was to kill them.

Prime Minister Jean Castex condemned the attack, saying it was an act of “cowardly individuals” and that the attack on police officers was also an “attack on the republic.”

The Pontoise public prosecutor’s office has already opened an investigation for the attempted murder of people with public authority.

On Thursday morning, relevant services received a photo of at least one of the three wanted men.

Conservatives are constantly derided and gaslighted by the press for seeing evidence of media bias and collusion with Democrats. In this current round of presidential debates, Chris Wallace and Susan Page were clearly in the tank for Joe Biden. To varying extents they interrupted and argued with President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, while asking soft easy gentle and favorite-topic questions for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They also threw out harsh, nasty have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife bad-premise questions to Trump and Pence, while humoring senile old Joe and his fake-laughing sidekick.

Funny how that happens, again and again. It’s almost like someone’s slipped questions to the Democrats, or someone’s working hand in hand with them. There was a funny feeling about how Kamala Harris, for instance, knew how to segue into the next question in the last debate.

Now there’s another funny incident and this one looks like proof:

Which is unbelievably disgusting. It’s bad enough that the man selected to be the impartial moderator in this debate, Scully, once worked as an intern for Joe Biden. Now we’ve got him seeking advice from the rabidly Trump-hating Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired from the Trump administration for his foul language, lunatic love life, and outrageous handling of the press. Scully needs advice on how to handle Trump from a freakish turncoat like Scaramucci?  It sounds like this guy is absolutely lost on the matter of handling candidates for one, but the fact that he chose Scaramucci as his advisor, instead of someone respectable sounds like he’s already in the tank for the anti-Trumpsters.

The tweet has since been deleted from Scully’s Twitter feed, and people on Twitter noted that it very likely had the look of a DM or direct messaging message that got misdirected as a public tweet. This by the way, was the same mistake a different Anthony from New York made, one Anthony Weiner, who sent out his private-part pictures and then claimed that his Twitter account was hacked.

What’s going on here is rigging, and it’s good to see that President Trump’s son Don, Jr. has noticed. 

Scully is going to be just as biased as the rest of them, desperately determined to sink President Trump’s candidacy, same as Wallace and Page tried to do. Scully will interrupt and argue with Trump, as well as refuse to let him rebut mendacious attacks, while directing soft, gentle ‘if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be’ questions to Joe Biden.

 Given how often the sneaky left gets found out on matters like these (think: the debate questions CNN ‘secretly’ slipped to Donna Brazile in 2016), it’s obvious a lot of this stuff is going on.

Scully should be kicked out immediately for this conflict of interest, to be replaced by an impartial newsman such as Fox News’ Britt Hume.

But this never happens. Each one just keeps getting worse than the last one. That’s the fault of the Presidential Debate Commission, a supposedly nonpartisan body, which comes down for the Democrats again and again. Most of the members of the Commission, notes lefty but honest lefty commentator Yashar Ali, are gerontocrats, people in their 70s and 80s, with the majority of them Democrats. The few Republicans among them (think: Olympia Snowe), who, sure enough, is one of the two I spotted, are RINO grade Republicans, not people recognizable as members of the current Republican Party as it is. They are relics of the past, courtly George Bush, Sr.-type Republicans always making excuses for the other side.

That underlines that that body is long overdue for some serious reform. What does the Commission, by the way, have to say about Scully’s little slip of the tweet? Nothing, as of this writing, nothing that I can find. There’s naked bias and rigging going on and they have nothing to say about it. It’s time to get rid of them, same as Scully.
