A 26-year-old woman was out and about on Monday evening together with her girlfriend (24 years old) at Graz main station. In the exit area of a supermarket, a stranger suddenly grabbed her buttocks with his hand as she passed by. During the following verbal argument, the man finally threatened the 24-year-old companion with killing her. In addition to the verbal threat, he also indicated with his hand that he would cut her throat.When employees of the security service ( Austrian Federal Railways) intervened and called the police, the man, together with his friends who were also present, fled via the platform and the passenger tunnel in the direction of the street Waagner-Biro-Straße.On the basis of the existing personal description, police officers were able to arrest the suspect, a 17-year-old Iraqi from Graz, in the course of their search in the downtown area of Graz. The 17-year-old was hardly cooperative and has not yet made any statements about the accusations made against him. He will be reported to the police after the investigations are completed.
