This morning around 08:40 am, a truck crashed into a church in Hommertshausen. According to our current information, there were no injuries in the accident. What is certain is that the 49-year-old driver left the road with his truck after passing a left turn. The cause is not yet known. The truck first touched a house and then hit the following house before the cab collided with the side wall of the extension of the scaffolded church.Only after salvaging the truck and investigations by the building authorities and structural engineers the actual, probably very high damage is known.The lorry is a large lorry with a container body and a trailer. The truck had apparently been loaded with scrap metal. The street Schelde-Lahnstraße in Hommertshausen has been completely blocked since the accident. The closure will continue for several hours. Warning messages on the radio announce that the road has been closed completely.
