Migrant violence in Germany: Mother uses her mobile phone to film how sons beat up policemen

Successful integration looks different. While her two sons, 21 and 23 years old, knocked down a policeman and kicked him on the ground, the mother used a mobile phone to film the action. The crime took place on Tuesday night in the Berlin problem district of Wedding. About 50 percent of the inhabitants have a migration background. Only the threat of the use of firearms de-escalated the situation. The officials are not able to work, the perpetrators are at large. A police patrol had noticed a vehicle driver during a particularly aggressive parking manoeuvre. The police stopped the vehicle and confronted the driver. The consequences were insults and abuse. When the officers tried to establish his identity, the male patrolman was attacked by the driver and passenger, knocked down and kicked on the ground. Meanwhile, the woman, who was also in the vehicle, hit the second policewoman. It was only when she pulled out her service weapon and threatened to use it that the attackers abandoned their victim. During the crime, the mother and sister of the main perpetrators came to the scene and filmed the confrontation with their mobile phones. All those involved have been arrested by assisting forces but have been released again. The two police officers had to be treated in hospital. They suffered bruises, haematomas and contusions. According to a police spokeswoman, they have been disabled since the incident. The Police Union (GdP) spoke to the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung of “deep-rooted hatred”. “Those who attack people deceitfully, step on someone lying on the ground and only let go of him when you look into the barrel of a loaded weapon are prepared to kill and pose a danger to our society”. The perpetrators have German citizenship and migration background.
