Last Saturday around 05:45 am, three young men from Eritrea insulted, spat at and harassed a train attendant at Halle main station. The young men wanted to take an suburban train in the direction of Leipzig. However, the train attendant refused, as they wanted to board the train with burning cigarettes and behaved very loudly and unseemly. In addition, they had broken several bottles of beer on the way up to the platform shortly before. On the train there was a discussion between the train attendant and the three men aged 20, 22 and 23. Here the 33-year-old train attendant was harassed. The men surrounded him, pushed him, spat at him and insulted him loudly with “Nazi pig” and faecal expressions. The saliva hit him in the face. Fortunately, the train attendant remained unharmed. On the arrival of the federal police, the perpetrators continued to behave aggressively, so that the officers had to act physically against the perpetrators in the form of pressing and holding them. Due to threatening behaviour, a 20-year-old man had to be briefly brought to the ground and tied up. The perpetrators, who were in a larger group of same countrymen, now receive criminal charges for assault, resistance to police officers, trespass, coercion and insult.
