31-year-old German-Lebanese Rashad Abdallah was found dead yesterday evening in Bielefeld. He had cuts and was probably brutally stabbed. The homicide department is investigating.Important background: He was admin of a Syrian website that promotes the spread of truths in Syria. So he also became an advocate for it. His friends and acquaintances suspect that this is probably why he was stabbed to death by radical Islamist (Syrian) pro-rebels. In other words, for political reasons.
The investigation led to suspicions against a 30-year-old Turkish citizen residing in Herford. He was arrested in the meantime and on the 1st of June 2019, he was brought to the responsible magistrate at the district court of Bielefeld at the request of the public prosecutor’s office in Bielefeld. The judge issued a protective custody warrant against the accused. The 30-year-old is in custody. The investigations continue.
