Around 900 people took part in the anti-Semitic Al-Quds March in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district on the 1st of June 2019. About 400 people demonstrated against the march with an anti-fascist demonstration at noon and about 600 people demonstrated with a rally in the afternoon organized by the broad alliance “Against the Quds March! The Iranian revolutionary leader Ayatollah Chomeini first proclaimed Al-Quds Day in 1979. Since then, there have been rallies worldwide on this day for the annihilation of Israel and the “liberation of Jerusalem” (Arab. “Quds”). In 2018, around 1600 people took part in the rally in Berlin. Participants included right-wing extremist NPD official Uwe Meenen, supporters of Maoist youth resistance and the People’s Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).At the beginning of the march, a participant wore a T-shirt with the logo of the terrorist Al-Qassam brigade, the military part of Islamist Hamas. Individual participants showed portraits of Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, and the anti-Semitic slogan of the Yemeni Huthi rebels.
