A report from the Norway’s official statistics bureau that shows immigrants now account for nearly half of Norway’s population grow, a trend that follows the agency’s report that ethnic Norwegians will be a minority in the country by the end of the century.

Last year, 52,000 people immigrated to Norway, which nearly equals the amount of 54,500 children born in the country in 2019, according to Statistics Norway.

The Norwegian statistics bureau identified stable migration as one of the main trends in population growth in Norway, while on the other hand,  the declining births and an aging of the population are negative trends for Norway.

Statistics Norway also points to certain municipalities with rapidly falling populations, which serves as a major economic and population drag on those regions. Many young people leave for cities and other economically strong areas, leading to fewer children born and a sense of decline for those regions most affected.

Last year, net migration to Norway amounted to 25,300 people, but the country of 5.3 million has consistently seen its share of newborns decreasing each year, with native born reaching a peak in 2009 with 61,800 births.

Due to these trends, the average age of Norwegians jumped by 0.23 percent to 40.5 years.

Given the increasing number of migrants in the country, there are worries about the decline in the ethnic Norwegians population. According to journalist Helge Lurås of the news outlet Resett, ethnic Norwegians are on their way to “become a minority in their own country”.

Resett analyzed the data on newborn children with an immigrant background and compared them with the net migration data. There were 42,300 people with an immigrant background and 37,000 newborns with an ethnic Norwegian background. In conclusion, Resett found out that in 2019, at least 53 percent of children born in Norway had a foreign background.

The fertility rate of ethnic Norwegian women (1.50) compared to women with an immigrant background (1.87) is another unfavorable factor. Women with an African background have an even higher fertility rate, which stands at 2.6 children per mother.

The 2017 report of Statistics Norway, predicting that 52 percent of the population will have an immigrant background by 2100, seems increasingly likely.

This watershed moment could even occur before then.

Currently, about 18 percent of the population in Norway has an immigrant background. In the younger age group, the percentage is even higher, exceeding 30 percent.

In the past, the Norwegian population was highly homogenous. In the late 1970s, ethnic Norwegians made up 98 percent of the population. Nowadays, except for Norwegians, the most numerous foreign groups are Poles, Swedes, Somalis, Lithuanians, Pakistanis, and Iraqis.

A young man of Pakistani origin residing in a municipality of Lomellina, in the Pavia area, tested positive for the Coronavirus and was asked to stay home for two weeks so as not to infect others.

According to Adnkronos, instead the foreigner ignored what should be common sense, and thought it well not to respect the quarantine. And he compounded the risk by making home deliveries of Chinese food.

Fortunately, the Carabinieri of the local station, who intervened following an anonymous report by some particularly attentive citizen, thought about stopping the careless migrant. The military intervened to return him to his home, at least for the period provided for by the protocol in cases like this.

The migrant was reported for failure to comply with the provisions of the judicial authority, an offense for which imprisonment of up to three months is foreseen or a maximum fine of 206 euros, as required by article 650 of the Italian penal code.

The Carabinieri have been busy reconstructing all the movements of the young man, in order to identify as many people as possible with whom he came into contact. In the meantime, the military has closed the Chinese restaurant.

The province of Pavia, as well as the entire Lombardy region, has been particularly affected by the Coronavirus epidemic. The alarming numbers led to the decision to keep Italian schools closed for another week, not only in Lombardy but also in Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, as well as other regions.

Abandoning the pretense that the so-called “refugee crisis” is anything more than military colonialism, Turkey’s Islamist tyrant responded to military setbacks during his invasion of Syria by discarding his aid agreement with the EU, while the media under his control urged Muslim migrants to head to Europe.

And they have.

The invasion has begun again.

Tens of thousands of refugees from Syria and other countries were massing on the Turkish borders with Greece and Bulgaria last night, hurling stones at guards and trying to cut through razor wire.

An estimated 30,000 migrants gathered at checkpoints after Turkey’s president claimed to have ‘opened the doors’ to allow as many as 4 million asylum seekers to leave the country.

One of the first stand-offs came on Friday night at Pazarkule, north-eastern Greece, where hundreds of migrants – including Syrians, Iranians, Iraqis, Pakistanis and Moroccans – demanded to be let in.

Most of these are not Syrians. The only thing they have in common is religion and its tradition of conquest and colonialism. They’re not fleeing a civil war. They’re mostly military-age young men invading Europe. And anywhere they can get to from Europe.

Greece and Bulgaria are obviously outmatched. And these countries were the traditional targets of the Ottoman Empire.

The current number of migrant invaders is estimated as being much higher than 30,000.

More than 76,300 illegal migrants exited Turkey towards Europe as of Sunday morning, Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu claimed.

“The number of migrants leaving our country via Edirne is 76,358 as of 09.55 a.m. [0655 GMT],” Soylu posted on Twitter.

If there’s a role for NATO, it’s not in Syria. It’s protecting Europe from this Islamist invasion.

Turkey’s decision comes amid frustration that the EU and Nato countries, including Britain, have failed to provide enough support in the country’s opposition to President Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian civil war. On Thursday, 33 Turkish soldiers were killed by Syrian forces, dramatically raising tensions in a war in which Turkey and Russia are backing opposing sides.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan insisted he would not back down, adding that his country could not handle another wave of refugees from northern Syria. ‘We opened the doors,’ he said. ‘We will not close those doors. Why? Because the EU should keep its promises.’

Syria doesn’t have much of a functioning military. Turkey is really fighting Russia and Iran. And its proxies. It’s Jihadist vs. Jihadist and they’re welcome to fight each other Alien vs. Predator style. But Turkey wants European and American help. 

And it’s using this invasion as overt blackmail.

There needs to be a naval blockade to stop the invasion. And this is an area where military assistance would be a good idea. These migrant invasions are WW3 in slow motion. And they can be stopped with little danger at Europe’s borders. If they get inside, then we end up moving closer to days when a European version of ISIS is in control of Europe’s arsenal and resources.

A conservative hedge fund manager, known as a ‘vulture’ and ‘financial terrorist‘, based on his history of tormenting socialists, has suddenly got his sights on Twitter.

Couldn’t happen to a nice bunch of woke, hostile, leftists.

Elliott Management Corp. has nominated four directors to the board at Twitter Inc., according to a person familiar with the matter, setting the stage for a potential showdown between one of the most prolific and pugnacious activist hedge funds and the influential social-media company.

Elliott has taken a roughly $1 billion stake and been in talks with Twitter management about its desire for the company to find a full-time chief executive officer, the person said. That most likely would involve replacing co-founder Jack Dorsey, who began a second stint as the company’s CEO in 2015. In addition to his role at Twitter, Mr. Dorsey leads Square Inc., a financial-technology firm he also co-founded.

A Republican donor reportedly purchased a major stake in Twitter with the intention of pushing out CEO Jack Dorsey, who the billionaire says is too distracted with other ventures.

Activist investor Elliott Management wants to make changes at the social media company, the Bloomberg News report noted Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter. Paul Singer, the billionaire behind Elliott, once opposed President Donald Trump’s campaign but has since grown more supportive.

Here’s the missing take:

I remember talking to this guy (or his people) back in my bond-market reporting days in the early 2000s, based on his tough stance of making Argentina’s lefty socialists pay their bills after their 2002 default instead of run out on their tab. The country, which issued a slew of bonds it defaulted on, world’s biggest default at the time of around $100 billion, decided it could draw in money with impunity from investors, run a fake currency board that wasn’t backing its dollar-denominated bonds, and then skip its bills by devaluing its currency and printing up toilet-paper money to pay its them, while leaving investors it owed dollars to with nothing. Tra la la, off they’d go, to spend again. Argentina took the cash, wasted it as socialists do, and then claimed it had no money to pay it back, even though it lent money based on a promise of always having dollars to pay the creditors. They deserved a guy like Singer, because nobody else was going to keep these Argie thieves honest. 

Most investors swallowed their losses and took “haircuts” on the value of their bonds, getting back 30 cents to the dollar. Not Singer, who thought they had the cash and like socialists just didn’t want to pay it. He was their worst nightmare because of his principled stand, but also, because like Trump, he was persistent to the point of being considered crazy. Here’s what Mother Jones had to say in 2013 after he tried to repo-man the Argentine navy, filing to snatch a ship to compensate him for what they owed:

To those who know Singer, such aggressive stunts are wholly in character. Harvey Miller, a partner and bankruptcy expert at Weil, Gotshal & Manges who has fought Elliott in court, calls him a “very tough and very difficult adversary. He’s not a compromiser. He’s persistent and won’t go away.” Democrats are likely to realize as much in 2014.

 Oh heck, they’re likely to realize it now, because he hasn’t changed any.

Singer’s now got @Jack, Jack Dorsey, the man who founded and semi-still leads Twitter in his sights and plans to take over. 

For us, that’s like a barbarian breaching the walls. Undoubtedly, Singer, who was once a nevertrump but came around, considered Twitter the weak link in the fat underbelly of social media giants. Now he’s moving for the kill. Which might be very good news for forcing Twitter to live up to its promises, too, just as Singer forced Argentina into being honest earlier.

A hedgie, Singer probably would first and foremost be making his decision to hostilely take over Twitter, based on the fact that it must have unrealized profits, something he could force Twitter into making if he gets his men or women on that board with enough power to clean house.

The news accounts cite Twitter’s refusal to take political ads in the election cycle, on the pious grounds that they could affect the election, is likely one source of unrealized profits.

But there are plenty more: Twitter’s history of capricious censorship against conservatives has got to be driving traffic away from the site, too. For every conservative they ban, they lose money in lost traffic and clicks. Since they do it a lot, and to big players such as actor James Woods, whose pithy comments have delighted millions, they lose millions.

Here’s another thing: The company may well have a depressed valuation based on its risk of ligigation and even more important legislation. The site claims to be a public platform and therefore exempt from libel laws, but its policy of censorship of conservatives makes it a highly edited platform. They’re likely to be eventually sued for the double standard and it’s all their own doing.

Watch Singer get in there and force this social media giant to live up to its promises. That would be good news for conservatives in the short term.

In the long term, it might be even better. Singer’s breach of Fortess Social Media with all its monolithic leftist denizens might just be a first step for a conservative long march through the institutions, the cultural takeover that the late Andrew Breitbart dreamed of happening.One hopes more conservative billionaires start getting in on the act and buying up newspapers, educational establishments, television and radio stations and social media companies in following. A giant could tumble.

Violence is escalating at the EU’s external border between Greece and Turkey following Erdogan’s declaration of the borders to Greece as ‘open’.

According to as yet unconfirmed claims by the Turkish Ministry of the Interior, almost 78,000 migrants are said to have left Turkey for Greece in the last 48 hours, and international organisations say that up to 15,000 mostly Syrian migrants have gathered at the border crossings to Greece. Greece has set up strong police and military units at the border crossings to secure the border and prevent illegal entry. According to local media reports, migrants have now started to attack the Greek security forces, including with the use of teargas grenades. The teargas grenades fired by migrants at the Greek security forces are allegedly made by Turkish companies (photo above). As the official government spokesman Stelios Petsas explained, Greece had been confronted with and resisted an organised illegal mass attempt to violate the border. According to him, 66 invading migrants were arrested. According to reports, Greece is now also reported to have transferred naval vessels to the East Aegean, as migrants – with the support of Turkish authorities – are also trying to land illegally on Greek islands by sea from Turkey.

“The carnival is over. Easter Lent begins. And the German Constitutional Court announces a decision that has to do with life and death.” Thus began the comment by Alexander Kissler, journalist for Cicero magazine, on the historic decision of the German Supreme Court which declared article 217 of the Criminal Code, prohibiting any form of the advertising of euthanasia, null and void.

The President of the Court, Andreas Vosskuhle, says that “everyone has the right to commit suicide, regardless of his personal situation.”  Kissler thus speaks of the “entry into organized death” and of “a step back in terms of freedom.”

Former Health Minister Hermann Gröhe, who wanted the ban, talks about “normalizing suicide as a treatment”. The Catholic and Evangelical churches have strongly criticized the sentence: “t is a break in our culture, oriented towards the affirmation and promotion of life.”  Viennese philosopher Susanne Kummer is very harsh: “The rule of law renounces protecting the weakest in favor of the strongest.”

According to Swiss media reports, euthanasia associations Exit, Eternal Spirit and Dignitas have an annual turnover of almost ten million euros. The German sentence is a bonanza for them. “In Holland they are now discussing euthanasia for the elderly who are not sick but tired of living,”  Kummer explained in a conversation with me. “Peter Singer has made it clear that we must be able to decide whether you are sick or not. The end of this society is Canada, where doctors offer euthanasia before palliative care. We are creating a society where nobody has to suffer anymore. Instead of helping them not to suffer, we kill them. There are economic arguments, the end of religion and the family that has been destroyed, so there are many lonely people.”

In 18 years, since the law gave doctors the power to kill patients who request it, there have been over 10,000 euthanasia cases in Belgium. A few weeks ago, for the first time, three doctors find themselves responding to charges of murder in Belgium, which in the words of the scientific journal Psychiatric Times has become “the epicenter of psychiatric euthanasia.” 

They have been set free. The woman at the center of the case, the thirty-eight year old Tine Nys, according to prosecutors was not suitable for euthanasia. Her family claimed that the girl did not have any incurable mental disorder, as required by law, but that she wanted to die after a failed love relationship. Nys had called a famous psychiatrist, Lieve Thienpont, who according to the media is involved in a third of all cases of euthanasia for psychiatric problems. Thienpont diagnosed her with Asperger’s syndrome, the same mild form of autism affecting the champion of environmentalism Greta Thunberg. Based on this new diagnosis by Asperger, Thienpont authorized Nys’s euthanasia.

The West as a whole has a death wish. You see it from the falling birth rates, the destruction of the natural family, the collapse of religion and now from the proliferation of euthanasia laws.

Richard Engel, the NBC’s chief foreign correspondent, just twittered about coronavirus: “Don’t panic. Doctors/ virologists I’m speaking to say 98% of people will be fine, even if they get Covid-19. They expect it will go around the world, but that most people who get it will be a little sick, then recover. The danger is to vulnerable people. Hospitals/ old age homes”. So to Richard Engel it doesn’t matter?

Sweden’s ruling Social Democrats saw their worst-ever results in a new poll released by Ipsos this week, as they remain behind the populist Sweden Democrats.

The results for the Social Democrats, 22 per cent, are the worst Sweden’s governing party has ever seen. The relatively new, anti-mass migration Sweden Democrats are now ahead of them by 0.3 per cent, Nyheter Idag reports.

Ipsos opinion analyst Nicklas Källebring commented on the results, saying that the populist SD has managed to establish itself “on a whole new level.”

“Much of the debate has been about crime and refugee reception over the past six months. Also, some of Stefan Löfven’s statements have not landed well and his confidence figures are developing in the wrong direction,” Källebring added.

The Sweden Democrats have routinely performed well in prior polls on the topic of immigration, with SD leader Jimmie Åkesson winning a debate on the subject of immigration prior to the last national election in 2018.

The rise of violent gang crime, particularly the surge in explosions and bombings in the last year, has also shaken public confidence in the government of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.

A poll released last year suggested that only eight per cent of the public believed the government could solve the issue in a timely manner.

Another poll, released in 2018, claimed that 73 per cent of Swedes believed the country was going in the “wrong direction,” and that many citizens were chiefly concerned with crime, unemployment, and immigration.

In both the 2018 national elections and the 2019 European Parliament elections, the Social Democrats saw incredibly poor performances, while the Sweden Democrats have consistently grown.

The Ipsos poll is just the latest national poll to see the Sweden Democrats in the lead. Earlier this year, for the first time, SD leader Jimmie Akesson tied for first place as the party leader with the most voter confidence.
