In February, the state of Berlin became the first federal state to appoint an expert commission on the topic of Muslim hostility. In principle, it is a good idea to deal with the various virulent forms of discrimination and hatred. However, the justice administration, which is mainly responsible for the committee, and the Commissioner for Integration of the Berlin Senate made a serious mistake in appointing the committee.

The Islam Forum of the Integration Commissioner has also appointed Mohamad Hajjaj, managing director of the Islamic association Inssan as well as state chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Berlin, to the committee.

Research by the newspaper WELT showed that Hajjaj was and is a functionary in several organisations that are considered to be Islamist. For example, he is the deputy chairman of the Teiba Cultural Centre, which is accused by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution of having links to the Muslim Brotherhood, and according to WELT information, he was a representative of the Palestinian Community in Germany (PGD), which according to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is close to Hamas. Hajjaj denies the connection to the PGD, from whose email account he authorised an interview in which he is quoted as a PGD functionary.

On the Facebook page of the Teiba Cultural Centre, for example, there is a disturbing photo of Hajjaj posing with a group of children, all of the young girls wearing a tightly tied headscarf. Also to protest against such massive discrimination against Muslim girls, the only correct reaction to these investigations would have been to kick Hajjaj out of the commission and to withdraw the lavish financial support from his association Inssan.

The Berlin senate, however, acts differently: The senator of justice and the Green parliamentary group say that it was important to include representatives of Muslim associations. It is therefore correct that the Islam Forum itself has appointed members for the commission – as if there are no Muslim associations that are not involved in Islamism.

The integration commissioner does not like to confirm that Hajjaj is active in associations that are assessed as Islamist by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. She apparently wants to excuse herself by saying that the last mention in the reports was a few years ago.

This reaction is pathetic. The Greens and the Social Democrats prefer to remain in a mixture of naivety and false tolerance in order not to play into the hands of right-wing Muslim haters. They do not realise that they are doing this by elevating Islamists to representative offices.

Many citizens of Berlin with a migration background from Muslim-majority countries, who left-wing and right-wing identitarians gladly declare collectively to be Muslims,might shake their heads at the fact that the red-red-green state government declares functionaries of political Islam to be their representatives.

Diversity is a big issue at the public broadcasters these days. Those who want to see with their own eyes and financed by their own broadcasting fees how this is implemented can tune in to the programme “Five Souls” from the Southwest German Broadcasting Corporation (SWR). (see also the tweet above)

In this ” diverse ” programme, the three hosts Natasha Kimberly, Hadnet Tesfai and Thelma Buabeng invite two guests to each episode. According to the programme itself, it “takes up relevant topics from the world of relationships and presents them in a humorous way, without neglecting the seriousness of the subject matter”.

The programme proved what is meant by humorous seriousness by inviting Feyza-Yasmin Ayhan. The woman is known as a poetry slammer under her stage name Yasmin Poesy. In 2015, she performed at an event of the “German Youth for Palestine” (DJP) in the Dar as-Salam Mosque in Berlin and put on a performance that must be considered Israel-related anti-Semitism. The “Neuköllner Begegnungsstätte”, to which the mosque belongs, was mentioned in the Berlin report on the protection of the constitution.

The editors must have known who they were inviting into the programme – at least if you search for the name Ayhan on Google. It is also questionable on which relevant topic Ms Feyza-Yasmin Ayhan should have taken a “humorous” stand in the programme.

The journalist Zara Riffler reported on the mag Tichys Einblick about Ayhan’s appearance, which can still be accessed on the net, and her invitation to the SWR programme. While SWR does not want to distance itself from Ayhan and her openly anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements, the journalist is facing a smear campaign by Ayhan’s management – and this on Thursday, of all days, on Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel.

Meanwhile, from Ayhan’s social environment, insults such as “The woman obviously has a mental handicap” and the title “Nazi” are hurled at Riffler. Her family, too, is being denigrated at the lowest level. Of course, the usual trivialisation of anti-Semitism with criticism of Israel on the part of Ayhan’s management is not missing.

One of Ayhan’s followers openly threatened Riffler on Instagram and linked the author visible to everyone. Ayhan herself then reacted and played the song “Long live Palestine” by the rapper “Lowkey” as a tribute to the threat. The latter is known for his comparisons of zombies with Zionists.

“In my opinion, a hatemongering call by Ms Ayhan’s management and herself against me as a journalist could only take place because SWR has not publicly distanced itself from Ms Ayhan. SWR has thus given these people a certain amount of power,” said Riffler in an interview with the newspaper JUNGEN FREIHEIT.

“The fact that – as far as I know – no public statement or correction was made about this programme with Ayhan apparently enabled these people to feel encouraged to explain Israel-related anti-Semitism as criticism of Israel. SWR is keeping quiet about this.”

The programme also featured journalist Malcom Ohanwe and cabaret artist Jasmina Kuhnke, both of whom repeatedly attract attention and make headlines with controversial statements.

In response to a question from the JUNGE FREIHEIT, SWR stated that in selecting the guests, the editorial team follows “clear editorial guidelines. This includes getting a clear picture of the guests’ ideological positions”. The YouTube video with Ayhan’s appearance only came to the attention of the editorial team after the programme had been broadcast. Asked whether the station felt partly responsible for the attacks on Riffler, a spokeswoman said:

“SWR and the team of ‘Five Souls’ are committed to the values of an open society and distance themselves from all expressions of group-related misanthropy, especially anti-Semitic and racist ones. The aim of the talk show ‘Five Souls’ is to defend these ethical values in an entertaining way from a variety of perspectives.”

In 2003, Yassin A. shot a Berlin special forces policeman to death and was sentenced to life in prison. After serving his sentence, he was to be deported and subsequently left the country – now he is legally back in Germany. The Berlin police are stunned.

In the Berlin district of Neukölln, Yassin A. had killed a Berlin special forces officer with a shot to the head in 2003. The Lebanese man was sentenced to life imprisonment for this crime and was supposed to be deported after his release from prison – but the latter failed, according to a report in the newspaper “Bild”.

After the convicted murderer had been sentenced to 15 years, there was a dispute about his scheduled deportation. Yassin A. lodged a complaint against the deportation with the administrative court – and was proven right because of an error by the authorities. The alleged reason: the foreigners authority had failed to consult him.

While he was still a father of two until his crime, the man fathered four more children with his wife in the meeting room of Tegel Prison. A deportation failed – but according to “Bild” there was allegedly an agreement with the foreigners authority.

If Yassin A. would leave for Lebanon for one year, he would be allowed to come back to Germany. If children are still minors and remain behind in Germany, the re-entry ban is usually about one year at the discretion of the authorities. Therefore, Yassin A. was allowed to return after he left in August 2018. “Bild”, on the other hand, reports that he was supposed to leave the country in September 2019. Yassin A. is apparently currently in Berlin.

Martin Pallgen of the Senate Interior Administration contradicted the report of a settlement at the time. “There was no deal, the case was duly terminated before the administrative court,” he told the newspaper “Welt” in 2018. He did not give further details. However, he did not see any mistake on the part of his authority.

In any case, the Berlin police are mightily pissed off about the re-entry of the murderer. “It really upsets us,” Bild quotes a high-ranking Berlin police officer who reports that the case is not an exception. “The Berlin Office for Naturalisation is literally advertising for the quick lifting of the re-entry ban.” An enquiry by the newspaper to the Berlin Senate Department of the Interior about this remained unanswered.

Yassin A. is now allowed to move freely in Germany and Berlin again and also receives child benefit – a total of 1,263 euros per month.

The new talk show “Five Souls” takes place on YouTube and Instagram to develop “new offerings for the digital world”, according to the SWR broadcasting company. The three hosts, Hadnet Tesfai, Natasha Kimberly and Thelma Buabeng, invite two guests to each episode “to talk about what’s on the minds of 30- to 40-year-olds. Whether it’s family, children, love, sex or money, “Five Souls” doesn’t mince words,” according to Southwest German Radio (“SWR”).

But already the first show goes in a completely different direction of “diversity”. The three hosts invited Feyza-Yasmin Ayhan, also known under the stage name “Yasmin Poesy”. In 2015, Yasmin Ayhan performed as a poetry slammer at an event organised by the organisation “German Youth for Palestine” (DJP), which took place in the Dar as-Salam Mosque. This event was specifically planned on “Jerusalem Day”; the day is explicitly mentioned in the video. Jerusalem Day (Yom Yerushalayim) is an Israeli holiday on which the Jewish population of Israel celebrates the reunification of the city of Jerusalem. Yasmin Ayhan performed a poetry slam in this mosque, which must be judged as Israel-related anti-Semitism:

“This land can never be separated from its people. It is our sacred land. There is no one who can deny these miracles, no one who can counter when I say Palastine deserves freedom (…) when I say a two-state solution is not fair. We don’t just want peace, we want justice. (…) We want our country to be truly united again. (…) The Palestinian picks up a stone, the Palestinian must be tired of life?(…) The Palestinians are a people who are fighting, not tired of life, but proud. That which Israel has destroyed in Palestine will not die and that which Israel has built in Palestine will not survive for a second.”

The last sentence in particular makes it clear that Yasmin Ayhan is clearly spreading hatred of Israel and Israel-related anti-Semitism. It resembles a call for the Palestinians to fight the Israelis, the Jewish people – violently. That what Israel has built “in Palestine” will not survive for a second is a threat. This is nothing other than anti-Semitism and a call for violence.

The DJP is considered an organisation of Hamas supporters and is close to the “Palestinian Community in Germany” (PGD), which is also widely assessed as an organisation of Hamas supporters. The Dar as-Salam mosque is run by the association “Neuköllner Begegnungsstätte” (NBS), which is monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and is considered close to the Muslim Brotherhood. The mosque, which is considered controversial by experts, has already tried to take legal action against the Office for the Protection of the Constitution; although it is no longer mentioned in the report, it continues to be observed on suspicion of legalistic Islamism. Hamas” is an Islamist, Palestinian terrorist organisation that wants to wipe out the state of Israel. It is a branch of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood whose ideology is deeply anti-Semitic.

The video of Ayhan’s performance has been publicly viewable on the internet since 2015. The Southwest German Radio (SWR), the second largest broadcaster of the German public broadcaster ARD, could have known about this beforehand. But it is not only this anti-Semitic appearance that is causing great displeasure. Yasmin Ayhan makes no secret of her sympathies for organisations that show a closeness to the Islamist and Hamas-affiliated political spectrum. On the contrary. If you have a look at her Instagram profile, “Yasmin Poesy” has already mentioned the website of the aid organisation “Islamic Relief” in her profile. She has launched her own appeal for donations on the Islamic Relief website.

The aid organisation Islamic Relief has been classified as a Hamas funding system by the Israeli Ministry of Defence since 2014 and is legally considered a terrorist organisation in Israel. Islamic Relief in Germany and its parent organisation Islamic Relief Worldwide have “significant personnel connections” to the Muslim Brotherhood or organisations close to it, according to the German government.

TE magazine found other well-known people with a wide public impact who were promoting Islamic Relief on Instagram just like Yasmin Ayhan – at the same time – with stories about the first meeting in a project office and visits to refugee camps. There is a picture at that time posted by Islamic Relief that talks about “Our team with Yasmin Poesy (…) are in Kenya and will tell you about our projects and donations on the ground!” This sounds like a promotional team for the controversial aid organisation. A young Muslim actress from Germany wrote on Instagram: “We are now on our way to Dadaab, where we will visit the second largest refugee camp in the world in sha Allah [God willing]. I’m taking you with me so you can see exactly where your donations are going”.

The suspicion could arise at this point that these people, as a “team”, have been part of a strategic advertising campaign by Islamic Relief to dispel the suspicion that the money is not only being given to people in need of help, but also presumably to the terrorist organisation Hamas, which Israel has accused it of. The Muslim actress and others who have been identified explain and show exactly what is in the food parcels to be donated. They use the same hashtags and record their journey in an almost identical way. It sounds like all these people have been given the same screenplay. The people’s Instagram stories clearly fit into a pattern. One of these people is named as a “volunteer” in a report (2020) by Islamic Relief.

Anti-Semitic posts by Ayhan can also be found on Instagram. She repeatedly posts negative rants against “Zionists”. In an Instagram post, she expressed delight that Tarek Bae was “not funded by any Zionists” who were “just media makers with a load of money”. This can be interpreted as both anti-Zionist and social anti-Semitism. The journalist Tarik Bae is a former employee of the “Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research” (SETA), which is a corporate think tank of the Turkish ruling party AKP and President Erdogan. SETA received public attention in 2019 when they published the EU co-financed “European Islamophobia Reports”, which specifically denounced European journalists, academics and politicians as “Islamophobic” in order to deligitimise their criticism of Islam and political-Islamic structures and denigrate them as “anti-Muslim racism”.

It is not the first time that the public broadcaster has included Yasmin Ayhan in its programmes without checking the person. In the documentary by the German public broadcaster West German Broadcasting (WDR) ” My head. My Veil”, Ayhan was a main protagonist. The fact that Ayhan appears in the milieu of the “Neukölner Begegnungsstätte”, the ” German Youth for Palestine” and “Islamic Relief” raises the suspicion that she herself could advocate a politically influenced Islam. This would question her motives for wearing a headscarf. Now, a documentary is primarily meant to show multiple sides and positions. However, the context concerning Yasmin Ayhan and other people is not given to the audience. Instead, Ayhan appears overall as a victim of defamation because of her headscarf. The victims of her widespread anti-Semitism, on the other hand, seem to be irrelevant.

After a 63-year-old died of multiple thromboses in eastern France after being vaccinated with the AstraZeneca Corona vaccine, relatives filed charges of negligent homicide.

As the public prosecutor of the city of Annecy announced on Tuesday, the complaint is directed against unknown persons. According to a report in the local newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré, the man died around three weeks ago.

“Within a day and a half, problem after problem accumulated, thrombosis in vital organs, the liver, kidneys, brain,” said the deceased’s brother in a video published by the newspaper. The 63-year-old was brought to the intensive care unit. “It happened very quickly,” his brother recalled.

The family, who were “95 percent” convinced that there was a connection between the death of the man and the recent vaccination, tried to have the incident recognized as a result of the vaccination, according to the information. It also reported the case to the ANSM Medicines Agency, which requested more information to clarify the cause of death.

After weeks of uncertainty, a high-ranking representative of the EU Medicines Agency (EMA) drew a connection between the Corona vaccination with the AstraZeneca vaccine and the occurrence of blood clots (thromboses).

It is “clear” that there is a “connection”, said the head of the EMA vaccination department, Marco Cavaleri, in a newspaper interview published on Tuesday: “In my opinion, we can now say that it is clear that there is a connection with the vaccine,” said Cavaleri, referring to the thromboses after AstraZeneca vaccinations, in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero. In the interview he let it be known that the EMA would officially establish the connection “in the next few hours”.

Soon after, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) gave the green light to the vaccine. “The benefits of the active ingredient in combating Covid-19 are significantly higher than the risks,” said EMA boss Emer Cooke on Wednesday in Amsterdam.

They found a connection between vaccine and thrombosis with a very low number of blood platelets. However, this occurs very rarely, they said. The authority thus continues to adhere to its assessment of the preparation but their analyses would continue, the EMA announced.

It is unclear what consequences the EMA decision will now have for the vaccinations. Several EU countries, including Germany, had previously restricted the use of the vaccine to people aged 60 and over.

“There is something happening. I said before we should not accept that every aid is meant to be good for this nation,” Magufuli warned at the time.

Soon after this revelation, Magufuli, one of Africa’s most prominent Coronavirus sceptics, curiously died from “Coronavirus rumours” according to the BBC.

German football club Hertha BSC announced on Tuesday it had fired its Hungarian goalkeeper coach Zsolt Petry with immediate effect for his comments not conforming to the club’s policy of diversity and tolerance. Earlier, in an interview with daily Magyar Nemzet, Perty spoke up against fellow footballer Péter Gulácsi’s Facebook post supporting same-sex marriage.

“The management of Hertha BSC has decided in relation to some statements by goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry in an interview with the Hungarian newspaper ‘Magyar Nemzet’, which the club was not previously aware of, to release Zsolt Petry with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement. “Hertha BSC has signed the Diversity Charter and, as an association, is actively committed to values such as diversity and tolerance, because these values are important to us. This is not to be found in the statements of Zsolt Petry, which he made publicly as our employee.”

In the Magyar Nemzet interview mentioned in the club’s statement, Petry spoke mostly about European football, but in answer to the last two questions, referring to Gulácsi’s support of same-sex marriage and his stance on political issues, Petry said athletes should refrain from expressing their points of view on social and political issues.

“I do not know what might have caused Péter to stand up for people with homosexual, transvestite, and other gender identities. I certainly wouldn’t have stirred up the tempers in his place,” Petry said, while referring to his political views. He added that “liberals are exaggerating their counter-opinions: if you don’t consider migration to be good because Europe has been overwhelmed by an awful lot of criminals, you’re already being branded racist. This should not be allowed, the opinion of the other person is less often tolerated, especially if the person represents a conservative position.”

German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung also published Petry’s statement in which he apologized to the German public if his remarks offended anyone.

“I would like to emphasize that I am neither homophobic nor xenophobic. I regret my statement on immigration policy, I apologize to all those who seek refuge with us and who I have offended,” Petry said in his statement.

Petry (54), has played 38 international matches with the Hungarian national team and has been Hertha BSC’s goalkeeper coach since 2015, transferring there from six years spent at another German team, 1899 Hoffenheim.
