Two men in the UK were arrested on charges of racially aggravated offenses after they posted stickers related to the coronavirus outbreak which said “pubs closed, borders open.”

The stickers, another of which said “open border, virus disorder,” were posted on lamp posts, bins, bus stop signs and bollards around areas of Sheffield. They are believed to be the work of the Hundred-Handers group, described as “far right” by the BBC.

Police said two men, aged 20 and 22, were held on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences and have now been released while investigations continue.

Local councillor Miskell said the stickers were an affront to diversity.

“This is absolutely disgusting and comes at a time where our diverse community is busy working together to tackle the virus,” he said. “This sort of behaviour can damage community cohesion and relationships across the city. We’re all working together to try to combat the virus.”

SImilar stickers have also been posted in other northern cities, including Leeds, York and Hull.

The stickers were deemed “racist” despite the fact that early border controls are what saved some countries from the worst of the coronavirus.

U.S. President Donald Trump also announced last night that America would be temporarily closing its borders to all immigration in order to fight COVID-19.

Yesterday, Monday, a physical confrontation between five people occurred in the afternoon hours in Mühlhäuser Street in Eisenach. Four pedestrians (17 years old, from Iran and 18, 19, 21 years old, from Syria) hit a cyclist (32 years old, of German origin) in the argument. The 32-year-old was injured and had to be taken to hospital for further treatment. The four perpetrators were arrested at the scene of the crime. Police investigations into the circumstances of the crime have begun.

Anti-Israel activists disrupted a Zoom meeting by the Israeli Embassy in Berlin commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day by posting pictures of Hitler and shouting antisemitic slogans, according to Israel’s Ambassador to Germany, Jeremy Issacharoff.The event, which hosted Holocaust survivor Zvi Herschel, was suspended and reconvened shortly afterwards without the activists.

As so often, a homicide from Offenburg with Islamic motives is pushed back into the psychiatric corner. Muslim Ali. M, a “refugee” from Somalia, had shouted the traditional Islamic battle cry “Allahu Akbar”, while on May 16, 2019, he stepped on the 76-year-old pensioner Detlef J., who was lying defenceless on the ground, and hit him dozens of times. Shortly before this attack, the federal police arrested him at the train station in Offenburg, after he had “loudly expressed his opinion about Islam” and hammered on the window pane of a train station bar. While driving in a cab, he became aggressive, grabbed the driver’s steering wheel and punched him in the face. Ali M. was then arrested by the police and began to “pray aloud” on the way to the police station.

Four weeks earlier, the 25-year-old Muslim had complained massively in a shisha bar about not observing Ramadan, the month of fasting. On the train, he harassed and pestered “infidels” travelling with him. All this is the behaviour of a deeply believing Muslim who has internalised the strict rules of Islam and the radical orders of the Koran to hate and fight against infidels, even to the point of killing them. Pensioner Detlef died on Monday after months of suffering in hospital. He had suffered several broken bones in his face due to the kicks and blows of the Muslim, went blind on his left eye and was in need of permanent care ever since. His condition had continued to worsen until the death. He had to be fed with a stomach tube and in the end he could no longer swallow at all. The pensioner’s twin sons not only had to witness the slow death of their father, who did not recognize them due to the severe brain injuries, but also had to pay for the high costs of treatment. Despite nursing care insurance and a pension, they were lacking about 1600 Euros per month.

Muslim Ali M. was, as so often, certified by an “expert witness” as having “paranoid schizophrenia” and referred to a psychiatric hospital. Because the Muslim suffers from a “persistent illness”, there is a danger of further crimes such as bodily injury or homicide if the accused remains “untreated”. Now the Muslim can pretend to have an ominous “mental illness”, is hospitalized, is considered lack of culpability and evades just punishment. Ali M. had come to Germany as a “refugee” from Somalia in 2015, his asylum application was rejected in 2017. Since then, he has been allowed to stay in our country as a tolerated refugee, like hundreds of thousands of other unauthorized asylum seekers. In addition, he praises Islam and commits crimes in the process. Despite having committed bodily injury before the fatal attack on the pensioner, he had been released. The victim, however, was suspected. His two sons were questioned by the police whether their father was “peace-loving”, “xenophobic” and “how much alcohol” he drank. But Detlef J. did not even have a beer in his fridge. He was not xenophobic either. He just came from playing games with his friends and wanted to go home when he ran into Muslim Ali. Now Detlef is dead. And his killer isn’t even on trial. Allahu Akbar.

We’re in an era of firsts, a runaway virus from China comes to mind, but this announcement by President Trump is the very first time anyone has heard an American president make this pronouncement.

President Trump has announced that he’s “temporarily suspending immigration into the United States.”

In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!

The president made the announcement to stop bringing in new people because the U.S. and world economies are cratering. And a historic number of people are now without jobs because of the virus. Trump is going all-in with the American people on this announcement.

Well, this is one way that President Trump will get Nancy Pelosi back to Washington, D.C.

We’ll bet that somehow the Left will label this as racist.

Does Europe have any conservatives? That is, believers in individual responsibility, national independence, free markets, a single law for all, the traditional family, and maximum freedom of speech and religion.

Seemingly not. Politicians called conservative — such as Angela Merkel of Germany, Jacques Chirac of France, and Fredrik Reinfeldt of Sweden — are often in reality mild leftists, as are their parties. One might conclude that conservatism is defunct in its homeland.

One would be wrong. A substantial conservative movement exists and is growing in Europe. It is hiding in plain sight, obscured by being tarred as populists, nationalists, extreme-right, or even neo-Nazis. I call this group by another name: civilizationists, acknowledging that (1) they focus on preserving Western civilization and (2) they forward some distinctly un-conservative policies (such as increased welfare and pension payments).

Civilizationists’ top concern is not battling climate change, building the European Union, or staving off Russian and Chinese aggression; rather, they focus on preserving Europe’s historic civilization of the past two millennia. They worry about Europe becoming an extension of the Middle East or Africa. Already, indigenous Europeans complain of feeling like strangers in their hometowns, of pensioners too scared to leave their houses, and of a school’s few Christian and Jewish students beat up by immigrant bullies. Imagine how things will look as the proportions change.

The civilizationists’ anxiety contains four main elements: demography, immigration, multiculturalism and Islamization (or DIMI, recalling the Arabic word dhimmi, the status of Jews and Christians who submit to the rule of Muslims).

DIMI’s quartet are closely related: Demographic failure creates a need for Immigration which encourages a Multiculturalism that prominently features Islamization.

Start with demographics: Each year, because of its low birth rate of about 1.5 children per woman, the indigenous population of Europe declines by more than one million persons, a number that steadily increases over time. To maintain the population requires an annual immigration of more than that number (few immigrants arrive in Europe as newborns).

The potential pool of immigrants vastly exceeds that number. To cite just two figures: A former Iranian minister of agriculture predicts that, due to water shortages, up to 70% of the country’s population, or 57 million Iranians, will emigrate. The population of Africa is expected to triple by the year 2100, leading to hundreds of millions seeking homes in Europe. One-quarter of the European Union’s population in thirty years will be of African origin, according to Stephen Smith.

Non-Western immigration brings a variety of practical difficulties: new diseases, linguistic incomprehension, a lack of necessary work skills, and high unemployment.

Multiculturalism results from a mix of immigrant assertiveness and European guilt and self-doubts. Multiculturalism assumes cultures to be morally equivalent and sees no reason to prefer European civilization over any other. Burqas are as valid ball gowns, burkinis as bikinis.

Finally, Islamization brings a number of hostile actions and superior attitudes incompatible with existing Western ways: compulsory headscarves, partial no-go zones, taharrush (sexual predation), förnedringsrån (humiliation robberies), rape gangs, slavery, first-cousin marriages, polygyny, honor killings, female genital mutilation, the Rushdie Rules, jihadi violence, imposing Islamic law on all, and a deep nihilism.

The Establishment, or what I call the “Six Ps” (police, politicians, press, priests, professors, and prosecutors) tends to respond smugly to the DIMI quartet. Focused on the negatives in Europe’s history, especially imperialism, fascism, and racism, the elite expresses a pervasive guilt and generally acquiesces to, or even encourages, a transformation of Europe away from its historic culture.

Civilizationists respond to this trend with conservative alarm and work to resist that transformation. They do not feel guilty; on the contrary, they appreciate national traditions, and they see Europe becoming an extension of the Middle East or Africa as a collapse of values and an as existential cultural threat.

The Establishment dismisses them as old-fashioned, weak, elderly, ignorant losers. Even analysts sympathetic to civilizationists, including distinguished writers such as Bat Ye’or, Oriana Fallaci and Mark Steyn, see the cause as lost, and see “Londonistan” and the Islamic Republic of France as inevitable.

But it is not. Civilizationists are already a powerful force, having advanced from a marginal position twenty years ago to a central role in many countries. They have been or are the main parliamentary opposition in Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. They have been or are part of the government in Austria, Estonia, Italy, Norway, and Switzerland. They govern in a coalition in Poland and on their own in Hungary. Their failure is far from inevitable.

In this light, some predictions:

First, because no one says, “I used to worry about DIMI but no longer,” the number of civilizationists will continue to grow. Within 15 or at most 20 years they are likely to dominate Europe’s politics, with the possible major exception of the United Kingdom, where they are stalled. After a long and bitter struggle, this countermovement to restore traditional ways will ultimately prevail.

Second, the civilizationists have three paths to power: control of the government, as in Hungary and Poland; joining with nominal conservatives, as in Austria; or joining with the Left, as in Italy. Also, in limited ways, the Left itself can bring some conservative ideas to power, as in Denmark. Further new paths may yet appear.

Third, the former Warsaw Pact countries will lead the way toward this future. Watching the mistakes of NATO Europe, they resolve not to repeat them. This includes the Visegrád Four (Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary) as well as eastern Germany, Romania, and Bulgaria. The eastern part of Europe has for a millennium lagged behind the western part, so this is a remarkable turnaround.

Fourth, civilizationists are hardly known for their intellectualism or principles, so seeing them as conservatives may come as a surprise. But they are moving erratically in that direction. What begins with instinct, raw populism, and crude majoritarianism is evolving into something more refined, as civilizationists move to the political center to win support. Experience modulates self-indulgence. Intellectuals are emerging; these include Douglas Murray (UK), Alejandro Macarón (Spain), Renaud Camus (France). Bat Ye’or (Switzerland), Thilo Sarrazin (Germany), Christian Zeitz (Austria), Viktor Orbán (Hungary), and Lars Hedegaard (Denmark).

Staving off the crisis created by demographics, immigration, multiculturalism and Islamization means preserving the continent’s best features. Civilizationists represent the hope for conservatism and for the future of Europe.

There was no social distancing, but there was plenty of violence on display as Muslim riots continued for a second night.

Rioting broke out in housing estates around Paris as tensions escalated over the coronavirus lockdown.

Footage posted on social media showed protesters hurling projectiles including fireworks, and police responding with tear gas and baton charges. Other videos showed several police cars and bins being set alight.

It followed prosecutors opening an enquiry after a 30-year-old motorcyclist, reportedly from an Arab Muslim background, was critically injured after a collision with an unmarked police car in the suburb.

Residents claimed it was an example of police heavy-handedness against ethnic minority communities during the lockdown.

Despite a large police force, “forty individuals” braved the confinement to fight it out, for about two hours, with the police . The police responded to projectile shots with LBD and tear gas. Calm returned around 2 a.m. with no injuries. No arrest was made, said a police source.

“My client is just beginning to realize what has happened, he does not understand that the investigation is directed against him when he is the victim. Inevitably, he fears that it is his word against that of the police, “said Stéphane Gas. A fear reinforced by the fact that the biker is very unfavorably known to the police and justice services. Convicted 14 times, the victim, aged 30, had been under judicial supervision since March 16 for death threats, said the prosecution.

Germany’s Christian Democratic Union leader Friedrich Merz has attacked coronavirus crisis-hit Italy’s Eurobonds demands, leading one German politician to suggest “the EU can fall apart because of this”. Mr Merz, who is considered most likely to succeed German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He made the serious allegations against  Giuseppe Conte’s government on Twitter on Sunday sparking a backlash. Mr Merz said Italy, hard hit by the coronavirus crisis, wanted to use the pandemic for its own purposes.

Italy has so far not wanted to accept aid provided by the EU, he wrote in a tweet.

The tweet said: “That shows that Italy has no acute need for financing.

“It tries to find unlimited financing options for its state budget in the slipstream of coronavirus.”

The comments caused outrage in Italy and in Germany.

The Green European politician Reinhard Bütikofer responded and said: “This is as malicious as it is wrong.

“The EU can fall apart because of such lies.”

The general outrage surrounding the tweet led the hashtag “#Merz” to trend on Twitter on Sunday.

Armin Laschet, a competitor in the race for the CDU chair also received criticism for his policy in the coronavirus crisis on Sunday.

Italy faces its most severe crisis since the second world war.

There have been more than 15,000 deaths from coronavirus and its economy on course to suffer the deepest recession in its modern history.

There is a rising feeling among even its pro-European elite that the country is being abandoned by its neighbours.

Carlo Calenda, leader of the pro-European Action party, says members write to him saying: “Why do we want to stay in the EU, it is useless.

“A massive, massive shift is happening in Italy.

“You have thousands of pro-Europeans moving to this position.”

Last month Sergio Mattarella, Italy’s softly-spoken 78-year-old president, and the man its establishment has relied on to safeguard its constitution and international alliances warned the future of Europe was at stake if its institutions did not show solidarity with their country.

On Saturday night, migrants rioted, attacked police and set fires at a migrant camp on the Greek island of Chios following rumors that a 47-year-old woman in the camp died of coronavirus.

Most of the rioters were young migrants, who attacked the police with stones and lit the dining room and several tents at the Vial refugee camp on fire. Several cars were also damaged during the attacks, reported the DPA news agency. The Greek police had to use tear gas to get the situation under control.

The hospital on the island of Chios where she was treated later denied reports that the woman had been infected with the coronavirus and said she only suffered from a high fever.

Video of the incident was also posted to social media.

According to the Greek migration ministry secretary Manos Logothetis, the facility of the European asylum service was also destroyed during the riots.

“A large part of the camp’s administrative services was destroyed,” Logothetis said.

Boris Cheshirkov, the UN refugee agency’s spokesperson in Athens, said that authorities are still evaluating the damage to the camp but that many camp residents were likely to lose their shelters.

“Authorities are still assessing the damages but a few hundred people are likely to be affected because their shelters have burned down. We have donated tents to the authorities which can quickly be put into use, and we will assist in replacing the warehouse tents,” he explained.

Police reportedly arrested two Afghans and an Iraqi in relation to the riot.

So far, there are no cases of coronavirus infection in the migrant camps on the Greek islands. However, two camps on the mainland have already reported several coronavirus cases.

Overall, about 39,000 people live in overcrowded camps on the Greek islands of Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Kos, and Leros, although the capacities are designed for a fraction of that number. For comparison, in April 2019, there were about 14,000 refugees in these camps.

Every day, there are skirmishes in the camps and tension is rising. The largest migrant camp Moria on the island of Lesbos hosts about 19,000 migrants, although the capacity of the facility is only 2,840 people.

The Greek government has tried to ease the situation by transporting migrants to the mainland, moving around 10,000 migrants in the first quarter of 2020.

The transfers are expected to continue in the coming weeks, with the government transporting around 2,400 elderly and sick people from the islands to the mainland.
