Cannon Hinnant, a 5-year-old White boy from North Carolina who was brutally murdered by his Black male neighbor, was shot in the head point-blank while riding his bicycle in a case that has received almost zero national media attention. Despite the dramatic death of the boy, many are pointing out that the race of the victim and the perpetrator may be a big factor why major news outlets have ignored the story.

Mainstream news networks ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, along major national news outlets like the New York Times, NPR, the Washington Post, Newsweek, and Time have not run a single story about the case, sparking outrage about the story’s omission {Update: CNN printed a news blurb on Aug. 14 about Hinnant after days of pressure for the outlet to cover the murder).

One tweet on the topic from Matt Walsh has received 41,000 likes.

Jason Howerton, an editor at the Blaze, shared search results on Twitter showing he was not able to find a single mention of the boy’s name on the websites of the biggest news outlets in the US. 

Hinnant was shot and killed by 25-year-old felon Darius Nathaniel Sessoms while he was riding his bicycle in Wilson, North Carolina. The boy was reportedly killed after he rode his bike on to Sessoms’ property located on Archers Road.

The execution of Hinnant was witnessed by his two 7-year-old and 8-year-old sisters, their mother told local news station WRAL.

Doris Labrant, a neighbor on the block who witnessed the boy’s death, said, “I saw him just run right up to him and [he] put the gun right up to his head and shot him.”

The British new outlet, Daily Mail, was one of the first major publications to report on it, but the story has received little coverage from any mainstream outlets in the US with the exception of Fox News. Only local affiliates like WRAL and ABC11 have picked up the story in the US.

There are many pointing to the fact that if the races had been reversed, the news would have most certainly made national headlines.

Police are still working to determine a motive for the killing, but neighbors say they are shocked that Sessoms would murder the boy.

“Sessoms lives next door to Cannon’s father, and a neighbor said that the two men had dinner together Saturday night and that Sessoms was at his neighbor’s home earlier Sunday,” according to WRAL.

U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and Goldsboro police apprehended Sessoms who has been charged with first-degree murder.

Sessoms is no stranger to the police, and his criminal record includes a range of felonies such as larceny of firearms, a misdemeanor for maintaining a place for a controlled substance and felony possession of marijuana. Sessoms also has two pending felony counts for maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance.

A fundraiser for Hinnant’s family has already raised over $100,000.

“Sunday, August 9, 2020 a sweet soul named Cannon Hinnant was taken from this world over a senseless act,” the GoFundMe for Hinnant reads. 

“A beautiful 5 year old baby boy riding his bicycle was shot by his neighbor point blank in Wilson NC. One minute he is enjoying his life, the next it all ends because he rode into his neighbors yard.”

“He was just a loving kid,” his mother, Bonny Waddell, said to the local paper, the Wilson Times. “He had the biggest heart.”

Hinnant was set to begin attending Kindergarten the following week and had just learned how to write, according to the Daily Mail.

Despite the blackout in coverage on Hinnant’s case at many of the nation’s major news networks, the murder has received substantial coverage on social media.

Daniel Horowitz, of the Conservative Review, also pointed to race as being a factor in Hinnant’s case. Horowitz asks why race was such a central issue in the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, but the death of Hinnant has received virtually no coverage in the national media. Although there was no evidence that the police officer, Derek Chauvin, had any racial animus, race was portrayed as the motivating factor in Floyd’s death.

“In the new America that is driven by racial politics rather than justice, what do you think would happen if a white man killed a 5-year-old black boy on his bike execution-style, regardless of racial motivations?” asks Horowitz.

Several police patrol crews, some of them from neighbouring departments, were deployed by the police of Rotenburg to settle disputes between two extended families, according to a report of the officers. After clashes between family members had already occurred early Thursday evening at the Rotenburg Diaconia Clinic, the conflict threatened to escalate somewhat later at an apartment building on Harburger Street.According to the police officers’ previous findings, members of one family had left an apartment when they were attacked by members of the other family armed with shovels and other tools. The police officers were faced with violent clashes when they arrived.

The police officers had to disperse up to fifty people and order them to leave the area, police spokesman Heiner van der Werp reported. The background of the dispute could not be conclusively clarified on site. According to van der Werp, however, the dispute is said to have been a civil law dispute.

The Rotenburg police succeeded in calming the tension on the spot. Several criminal proceedings for assault and threat have been initiated, it is finally reported. The two families involved in the dispute in Rotenburg are from Lebanon and Iraq.

On Sunday, Dublin Fire Services were called to a fire caused by an apparent arson attack at a house linked to a dispute between rival African gangs operating in Ireland’s capital city.

The fire broke out in Chapel Grove, Balbriggan, in Fingal County. As media reported, the arson attack happened following a series of altercations between African youth groups.

Although authorities have yet to examine the cause of the blaze, according to residents, the fire was started by an incendiary device thrown into the garden shed, according to The Burkean.

Footage posted online also shows groups of dark-skinned individuals being chased by police.

From the outside, the house appeared to be gutted and the neighboring property suffered serious damage as well.

The parish has dealt with violence among mainly African gangs for a long period of time. The epicenter of the disputes is the Castlemill Shopping Centre, which is close to where the fire occurred.

Fianna Fáil TD Darragh O’Brien said that “gang violence” is overwhelming the area and that they are participating in “stabbings and arson attacks” and that “a shopping centre was effectively taken over at the weekend”. On the Adrian Kennedy Show, he said that locals had had enough and that the levels of violence are concerning. 

Local Gardaí, the Irish police service, have been unsuccessful in dealing with the African gangs, which regularly engage in street brawls.

Just a day before the fire, Gardaí received a call about fights outside Castlemill Shopping center involving about 30 youths of mainly African origin. Police had to even deploy its helicopter to help officers on the ground.

Many residents have also been exposed to harassment by the gangs while shopping at local stores.

Furthermore, according to locals, narcotic crimes related to the African gangs has been on the rise in the area.

Even though the mainstream media has tried to portray Balbriggan as the model for multicultural Ireland, the town had recorded rising crime.  In December 2017, locals protested against the out of control crime.

According to data from 2016, 11 percent of the town is of African origin, most of them being under the age of 25.

An unnamed North African asylum seeker who stabbed 70-year-old priest Jos Vanderlee with a knife now risks three years in prison.

The attack occurred in the Saint Servaas Church in Lanaken, Belgium, and dates back to July 31, 2016, however, it was only last week that the asylum seeker began appearing in criminal court for the crime, reports Dutch news portal Het Laatste Nieuws.

The defendant, who only had his initials of A.D. released to the public, is well-known to the police for previous criminal acts. He is believed to be from Libya.

On the Sunday in 2016, the asylum seeker went to ask for help at the Saint Servaas Church where Vanderlee resides.

“He spoke both a mix of French and English and asked for ‘aid’,” said Vanderlee.

The priest also provided him with bread and a bottle of water, at which point the asylum seeker left.

A few hours later, however, he knocked at Vanderlee’s door again.

“He then asked if he could take a shower and then get a cup of coffee.”

Vanderlee had his doubts, but eventually decided to let the asylum seeker in. He allowed the man to take a shower inside his house.

Once out of the shower, the man asked Vanderlee for money, which Vanderlee denied him. 

While the priest was making coffee for the asylum seeker, the man took out a knife and attacked the priest from behind.

“I heard him rummaging in his carrying case, but I was standing with my back to him. I was not quite trusting the situation anyway. I looked back and saw him with a gigantic knife right in front of me. Had I turned around two seconds later, he would definitely have gotten me,” the priest said.

The two began fighting one another, but the priest managed to defend himself successfully and the asylum seeker fled. The priest suffered wounds to his hands and tendons and was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vanderlee is well-known in Lanaken and responsible for eight parishes in the region.

A few months later, the asylum seeker was arrested, at which point he denied that he took part in any crime.

However, last week at his first criminal court hearing, almost four years later, he admitted that he wanted to stab the priest. During his hearing, he said that he regretted what he did.

“This was not the intention. I’m sorry,” he said.

It is unclear why the case took so long to reach the trial stage. The asylum seeker now faces three years in prison.

The 2016 stabbing of Vanderlee occurred only a few days after French Catholic priest Jacques Hamel was stabbed to death by two men who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State. The 85-year-old priest was killed at the altar inside his church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, located in Normandy, France. His two attackers, Adel Kermiche and Abdel Malik Nabil Petitjean, both 19, took five hostages before slashing the priest’s throat inside the church.

A police officer has told residents in the no-go zone of Montpellier that if they are sick of violence and verbal abuse from local youths, they should either move or adopt the vigilante methods used in Corsica and handle their own problems.

Last Friday, residents of the Hauts de Massane district made repeated phone calls to police over incidents of youths breaking into houses and garages, stealing, throwing rocks at vehicles, and screaming profanities at inhabitants.

“I called because they started throwing rocks at the vehicles in the residence’s car park. There was a rising crescendo of screams and vulgarities,” one local said. She claimed the police responded by saying that throwing rocks was not a priority for them, France Bleu reported on Tuesday.

The officer allegedly said: “You know when you live there, you have to find out before you buy.”

“You need to have people in your residence who have the balls to go to the basement, to sort this out your own way, with the Corsican method,” the officer added, referencing vigilante justice.

Another person reported a similar encounter with police at a local police station who also recommended they move somewhere else.

“You don’t have to live there. Anyway, people are not normal in this neighbourhood. You only have to move somewhere else, and live with normal people,” the man claimed the police officer had said.

In recent months, even during the strict Chinese coronavirus lockdowns, no-go neighbourhoods across France have erupted into rioting and violence, primarily directed at police.

In La Cité Charles-Schmidt apartment complex in Saint-Ouen, located in the notorious no-go Paris suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis, residents even made a deal with local drug dealers to leave them alone in exchange for the criminals keeping their noise down at certain hours.

As growing violence and crime escalates across neighbourhoods in France, some, including populist Marine Le Pen and Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, have begun to use the term “ensauvagement” — describing a descent into savagery and lawlessness — to characterise the growing trend.

The Dutch town of Scheveningen has become something of the epicenter of the chaos and violence in the Netherlands. Enforcement personnel have been beaten with batons, and on the pier, people are shot and stabbed. There have already been several deaths.

The picturesque little coastal location is no longer what it once was, Dutch daily De Dagelijkse Standaard reported. The fishing village, swallowed up by the Hague, has become a paragon of violence, the breaking of Corona rules, and even murder. This week, a Rotterdam youth, who was stabbed on the pier, died. There are also videos to be seen where grown men with drawn pistols run back and forth and shots are heard.

And on the beach, it is the same story. When nobody is drowning in the sea, parking attendants are nearly knocked senseless with batons because they simply monitor compliance with parking and Corona regulations. The beach is used as a public trash bin, and any spot has become an open-air campground. The government cannot control the total anarchy, as it appears from all images and reports.

The municipality has been forced to send in forest rangers to restore some calm. A local political party in the Hague now calls Scheveningen a “free state, an El Dorado for troublemakers who can go around undisturbed.” The PVV said that this “last bastion of sobriety is going down the drain”, thanks to “weak left-wing administrators, including the VVD.” According to MP Machiel de Graaf: “This is the last straw.”

A few days ago in Nieuwe Meer in Amsterdam, on Saturday afternoon, around half past four, the 24-year-old Bas van Wijk from Badhoevedorp was shot dead.

Van Wijk had come to the Nieuwe Meer with a large group of friends but a group of Turkish men started a fight with them on a crowded jetty. One of the young men forced an acquaintance of Van Wijk to give up his expensive Rolex watch and threatened the Dutch group with a gun, according to friends of Van Wijk.

When Van Wijk said something about this, he was shot right in front of a play tower for small children, according to witnesses. The Turk shot Bas a second time and as he fell down, the shooter walked over to the friend and took his watch.

The death of Bas – a white man – is said to have barely caused a stir, while George Floyd’s death in the United States sparked worldwide protests and dominated the media for months. PVV leader Geert Wilders tweeted: “Where is the fuss now?”

One of the victim’s friends said that the police have been “careless with the description” of the immigrant shooter. “Those guys had a light-coloured skin,” he said. “But the police wrote ‘light skin colour.” In a Facebook post, the perpetrator was described as “probably Turkish”. Despite this, the police still claim that they cannot give a description.

Meanwhile, the Burgernet tweet from 8 August described the perpetrator as “white”. It smacks of an ideologically motivated reluctance to describe the gunman.

I noted previously that Black Lives Matter rioters had attacked the Ronald McDonald House, where sick children and their families stay, during their Chicago riots. But here’s how they affected one sick child.

Owen Buell of Joliet has gone through a lot in his short toddler life.

In February, Owen was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma, a type of cancer most commonly found in children age 5 or younger.

He’s had chemotherapy, and he had the first of two stem cell transplants on July 8.

And even when Owen went to a nearby Ronald McDonald House, he returned to the hospital for three days due to an infection his central line, said his grandmother, Jackie Moore of Florida.

Owen has had “a feeding tube, numerous ports, bone marrow tests, stem cell extractions, major abdominal surgery,” according to The Help for Baby Owen Buell and his Family Facebook page, which Moore moderates.

So you can imagine how excited his family was to celebrate his second birthday Monday. Moore even shipped a 3-foot-tall stuffed llama to Owen’s home to surprise him because Owen loves llamas.

Except Owen didn’t get to see the llama.

This is the part where the suburban white women reading Robin DeAngelo and Ta Nehisi Coates are supposed to insert a crack about Owen’s privilege to prove that they have no soul before sharing a Kamala Harris dancing meme.

Owen and his parents, Brian Buell and Valerie Mitchell, were at a Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago was supposed to discharge him on Monday, but that didn’t happen because of the riots, Moore said.

The hospital website said some clinics might be canceled “due to unrest in the city.”

Moore said she’s upset, not just for Owen and his parents, but also for the other families at Ronald McDonald House with children who are also fighting for their lives.

“Can you imagine those kids being inside and listening to this?” Moore said.  “They can still look out the windows and hear the sirens and hear the gunshots. It’s terrifying.”

The Democrats and all the Black Lives Matter allies have a lot to be proud of.

Maybe they can spare a few dollars from the bail funds for Black Lives Matter rioters for Owen’s GoFundMe.
