The Cologne police stopped a wedding convoy using several police cars last Friday afternoon on the federal highway 4 at the Kerpen intersection. After informing the public prosecutor’s office, the police confiscated the driving licenses of five drivers (24, 26, 26, 27, 29 y/o) of the Iranian-Kurdish wedding party at the Elsdorf junction. According to testimonies, occupants of the cars on the highway are said to have leaned out of the windows and sat on the roof while the car was being driven. In addition, the men are said to have jointly slowed down the traffic in the direction of Aachen to about 60 km/h and to have overtaken each other at risk. For the trip to the wedding celebration, the five drivers of the motorcade sat in the passenger seat.

In an interview, Bettina Jarasch, spokeswoman for refugee and religious policy of the Berlin Green Party, tried to square the circle: she did not want to deviate at any price from her Islamophilic, unrealistically ideologized view of refugees – and tried to avoid the accusations of two Green party members who had criticized the misogynistic world view of many immigrants and blamed her Green party of ignorance in this regard.

Jarasch, a do-gooder through and through and, in a way, the cliché of a Green advocate of Islam, seems like a caricature of herself. Who doubts whether there are really people who deny the problems caused by political Islam and the backward state of society in traditionalist countries of origin of many refugees coming to this country: With this Green person they will learn the opposite. Under the motto that “nothing can happen that is not allowed to happen”, Jarasch closes her eyes to any unpleasant confrontation with reality – and practises whataboutism of the most embarrassing kind.Confronted with concrete cases of sexual and domestic violence against women in immigrant families, their chauvinistic upbringing and the macho culture that is particularly prevalent in Arab culture, Jarasch had used phrases such as “Muslims should never be condemned in general” in the newspaper interview in question, published in the “Tagesspiegel” (TS).And she countered the argument that many refugees came from cultures in which “women are considered to be of subordinate importance” by saying that in Germany, too, “patriarchy has not yet been completely overcome” and that “in this matter German men are not blameless.Such arguments show blindness at its highest, in a clearly pathological form.In response to the TS interview with the unconvincable Jarasch, the sparks apparently flew in the party.

Fewer and fewer Greens are apparently willing to accept the denial of reality by hard-line ideologues in their own ranks. Walter Otte, chairman of the group of the “Secular Greens” (a green “fringe group” that takes a relatively critical stance towards Islam), explained to the TS: “There are clear problems due to an upbringing background, there is a cultural macho culture, you have to deal with that. If these problems are not clearly mentioned, the AfD will be given a point of attack. One should not try to dismiss the problem.Likewise, Otto’s predecessor at the party group, the Green Party member Jürgen Roth, sharply attacked Jarasch: “Such an uncritical approach – also of orthodox-reactionary excesses – will almost inevitably result in the conclusion that we are dealing exclusively with a growing conflict between Islam and the majority society”. There is no point in suppressing everything unpleasant in order to justify the false conclusion that nothing has anything to do with Islam.

In June, four armed Swedish police officers seized and confiscated the entire stock of the book Det här är en svensk tiger (“This is a Swedish Tiger“), written by Swedish author and standup comedian, Aron Flam. The book tells the story of how Sweden’s claim of neutrality during World War II covered up a reality of Swedish collaboration with the Nazi war effort and the profits that the Social Democratic government made from the war.

The title of the book is a play on the words of a 1941 wartime poster of a tiger drawn in the blue and yellow colors of the Swedish flag with the title “En svensk tiger” (“A Swedish Tiger”) and made by Swedish illustrator Bertil Almqvist. The word “tiger” in Swedish means tiger, but it also means to keep silent. The original poster was part of a Swedish government campaign to warn Swedes to keep silent, presumably not to rattle Sweden’s wartime relationship with Nazi Germany.

Flam satirized Almqvist’s illustration on the cover of his own book by drawing an armband with a swastika on the tiger, and having one of its front legs lifted in the Nazi salute, while winking at the reader. The owner of the copyright of Almqvist’s tiger, however, Sweden’s Military Readiness Museum, alleged that Flam had violated its copyright and reported him to the police — who confiscated the books. According to Flam, now the prosecutor even wants to seize books from readers who already bought them, to make sure the books are destroyed.

The confiscation of books and the upcoming case against Flam has ignited a debate in Sweden about the value of freedom of speech. As Flam has pointed out, a Swedish writer who happens to be Jewish having his books, critical of Swedish-Nazi collaboration during the war, seized by the Swedish state is a bit ironic. “Just the idea that there is a prosecutor who is seriously pushing to track down and destroy books is Kafkaesque. If they had contented themselves with tearing off the front-page, but no”, Flam said.

As always, how the police and prosecution choose to operate is a matter of priorities; those (curious) priorities were on display in another recent court caseabout free speech, as well. In it, an elderly Swedish woman was sentenced to a fine for “incitement”, after she expressed her anger on Facebook over the violent assault by a 27-year old man on an 86-year old pensioner.

“Yes, he [the perpetrator] will probably be out [of prison…] right away. It would be better to send him out of the country, what kind of monkey people come into the country, deportation is all that applies now, there are no mitigating circumstances… The monkeys should not come here and commit such crimes…”

The woman did not mention any specific group of people in her Facebook post, yet the court found that she had incited hate against immigrants:

“The district court…finds that the communication cannot be understood in any other way than that it is aimed at such a group of people who are protected by the provision — immigrants – i.e. the ethnic groups in Sweden who have in common that they have a different national origin than the majority population. By calling this group ‘monkeys’ and ‘monkey people’, NN [the woman] has expressed herself in a way that must be considered derogatory.”

The case was not unusual for Sweden. The prosecution of pensioners, and others, for speech crimes is commonplace.

The problem is that Sweden is a country deeply mired in a growing violent crime wave that its authorities have not been able to defeat. While Swedish police and prosecutors give a high priority to the confiscation of books with covers of satirized Swedish tigers and pensioners guilty of “Wrongthink”, they evidently do not have the resources to confront violent crimes.

In Uppsala, for instance, a report from 2019 showed that 80% of girls in high school do not feel safe. In 2013, that number was 45%.

Recently, SVT Nyheter ran a story about a 13-year-old girl who had been raped in a public toilet in a mall in Uppsala in November last year. Even though the police knew who the suspect was, it took them seven months to arrest him. “Since the police did not have the resources, he was not detained until now”, Moa Blomqvist, the prosecutor in the case, told Swedish Television. “I am very upset that such serious crimes are piled up waiting with the police…” The police deny Blomqvist’s claim.

In July, a mother of three and her sister, who were walking home with their husbands, suffered head injuries when a man, who identified himself to the women as coming from Gottsunda, a “no-go zone” in Uppsala, decided to start kicking them in the head, apparently for no reason. The man was soon joined by a gang, who proceeded to whip the husbands with belts. The police so far have no suspects in the case. Two weeks later, in the center of Uppsala, a man was stabbedmultiple times.

Uppsala, once a picturesque and peaceful university town, is now the town in Sweden with the most shootings per capita. “The gangs have been allowed to grow” Manne Gerell, a criminologist at Malmö University told SVT Nyheter in December 2019, adding that the police had “woken up” a little too late.

Uppsala has also been hit by several bombings — attacks, typically gang-related, using explosive devices. In 2019, Sweden had 257 cases. The latest Uppsala bombing took place in June: a “minor explosive device” detonated in an apartment building.

Yet, in Sweden, in 2019, not even one in ten bombings led to criminal charges, according to SVT Nyheter. Perhaps it is time for Sweden’s government to spend fewer resources on prosecuting the speech crimes of pensioners and comedians, and more on fighting violent crime.

Based on the arrest photos of apprehended Antifa rioters, the impression is out there that the group is little more than a bunch of extremist fringe crazies.

Sadly, it’s not so. 

Report after report shows that Antifa is highly organized, in its rioting, its killing, and its press coverage.

It’s shocking, really. This account from SurvivalBlog, by J.D., someone who went to several of Antifa’s riots, describes all the security that Antifa and Revolutionary Communist Party (RevCom, or RCP) coevals put into their operations. Based on his account, Antifa and RCP appear to be the same thing:

The first one I attended was on the University of Michigan campus. The protest was rather large, about 1,500 people. What I found interesting was that the first speaker pointed out that “allies from RevCom/ANTIFA” were present, just to provide “logistical support” including medical and security teams. The local RevCom leader got up and explained how to find the medics (Large red or green crosses) and explained that security was “circulating among the crowd” for safety. That was an ominous statement, as I’ll point out later.

I began moving through the crowd and quickly spotted several security team members, obviously watching the crowd for anyone who wasn’t clapping or cheering along. It’s important to note that these protests require 100% ideological agreement or they will approach you and become confrontational, so I made sure I was chanting along. I noticed almost immediately that despite the man who said he was the RevCom leader, a young man named Ethan, that I would later have many interactions with, was actually in charge. He is a security team leader within the ANTIFA organization.

The biggest observation from the first protest was that despite the claims that they aren’t organized, they are highly organized by a central organization. Ethan and his security/medical team have been at every protest I’ve attended in Michigan, including one at the Capitol an hour away. They use the ubiquitous BaoFeng Handi-talkie radios to communicate.

The creepy security followed him everywhere. He had to change costumes a few times to get away from their “security” surveillance. Photographs were forbidden, rioters were supposed to riot on cue without taking pictures, picture-taking was the province of the party elite. The same rioters, and riot leaders turned up in different cities, same people every time. When one group of protestors didn’t want Antifa to hijack their protest, Antifa’s “security” came anyway, undercover. They followed people. They made threats. And this was just a garden variety of groups in Michigan with its riots directed from someone above.

The big league is Portland, where rioters marked their 100th night of rioting, and chased the city’s leftist mayor, Ted Wheeler, from his condo after organizing to try to burn it down, with all the residents in it. They’ve made Portland a hellhole.

And it turns out they’re not just creepy stalkers and “security,” some are actual killers. The latest news from Portland is that Antifa’s denizens stalked and shadowed young Aaron Danielson, who was murdered in cold blood by “100% Antifa” Michael Reinoehl, who was later rubbed out by the Portland cops as he resisted arrest upon apprehension. This account here shows how Reinoehl laid in wait behind a thin but concealing barrier, gun held in two hands, for his target to walk by, in what appears to be a very strong instance of premeditated murder, or assassination. According to PostMillennial:

Homicide Detective Rico Beniga wrote in the affidavit that Reinoehl “conceals himself, waits and watches” for the men to pass him before he follows them and shoots them. Investigators added that it looks like Reinoehl held his gun with both hands extended when he fired the shots, after which he kept his right hand extended and pointed at Danielson as the victim ran away from him, stumbled and bled to death.

Danielson, 39, was walking in downtown Portland last Saturday when Reinoehl ambushed him, shooting him in the upper right chest. An autopsy found a single bullet lodged in his back.

Which takes the Antifa activity to a whole new level. J.D. notes that they are always prepared for violence in their choice of gear as they prepare to go to the riots.

Besides the atrocities, they also have help. Apparently, someone on the inside in Portland’s government is providing shelter for them on the city’s dime, in the form of a homeless tent camp. They deny it, of course, but it certainly does seem to explain how Antifa, with all its pan-United States cast of characters, can operate for 100 nights of mayhem in Portland alone.

They also have the press. A number of them serve as Antifa’s own press – you can see it on their crudely printed helmets here:

And they tightly control that press. Anyone coming to one of their riots, where they set fires, attack police and passersby, and damage property, will be spotted by Antifa “security” and chased off. All news agencies have nothing but Antifa-generated footage to work with, mostly showing cops going after protestors, rather than the acts of the protestors that prompted the police to avt.

But they also have reporters on the outside on their string — New York Times stringer here, Oregonian reporters there. Reason magazine has a link to a Google sheets list of Antifa-approved reporters here.

They report:

These protester-approved journalists are producing much of the news you see about the protests, with an assist from the national press. Kate Shepherd isn’t on the list, but she was previously a sympathetic reporter for local Portland media, and she is now filing such stories for The Washington Post, with headlines like “Portland police arrest a hate crime survivor and Wall of Moms organizer in crackdown.”

Which paints a terrible picture of just how organized and controlling and lethal this group really is.

Their tactics – mob action, control of the press, opposition to any manifestation of law and order, willingness to kill, a claim to actually being the order – paints a disturbing picture, very redolent of Caracas, Venezuela, where this kind of controlled chaos has been going on for years/

I visited some of the Chavistas engaging in this kind of behavior when I was in Caracas. I went up to visit the Chavista “education” sessions in the Caracas hillside slums. Who was there at their side as they showed me around? That’s right, member of the RCP, same group that is impossible to distinguish Antifa from. Same group that engaged in violent acts during San Francisco’s Rodney King riots of the early 1990s. 

Now they’ve gone big. And if this kind of modus operandi — killings, illegal censorship, violence, as well as Chavista historic background isn’t reason enough to declare war on them and shut them down, what is?
