Poland hears echoes of Nazi rhetoric after German politician urges EU to ‘starve Poland and Hungary’

Deputy Head of the European Parliament, Katarina Barley, has caused massive outrage due to her appeal to “starve” Poland and Hungary of EU funds.

According to the website of radio Deutschlandfunk, Barley called for increased pressure against Poland and Hungary to maintain so-called rule of law in those countries.

“The rule of law is constantly broken and EU funds are an efficient way to exact pressure. States such as Poland and Hungary must be financially starved. Funds are an efficient lever,” she told German radio.

Several Polish politicians and commentators criticized Barley, emphasizing the historic connotation of using the word “starvation” in context of Polish-German relations, according to Polish media outlet Salon24

“This statement is outrageous and reminds us of the most dreadful historic connotations. We could say that Germans have ample experience in starving and persecuting Poles. We are awaiting an official apology from Mrs. Barley and the retraction of these shameful words,” Michał Dworczyk, the chief of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, posted on social media:

Law and Justice MEP (PiS) and former Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski also did not spare his criticism, saying, “A German is calling for the starvation of Hungary and Poland. No illusions remain. The fight for the rule of law is not meant to improve legislation in the EU. It is an ideological weapon against conservative governments.”

PiS MEP Ryszard Czarnecki reminded that German politicians speaking about starving someone has very disastrous connotations. He emphasized that there used to be a party in Germany which had the word “socialist” in it, referring to the NSDAP, which also intended to starve European nations. He emphasized that that plan ended poorly for both them and the Germans.

Commentator Piotr Semka also expressed shock at the usage of the term “starvation”.

“I could not believe that Katarina Barley, the deputy head of the European Parliament, could use the term ‘aushungern’ in relation to Poland and Hungary. I could not until I checked German media myself. ‘Aushungern’ is not a good term, it means ‘to starve, to famish. The addition of the word ‘financially’ does not help”.

On Thursday evening Gazeta Wyborcza informed that “according to transcription of the conversation on the website of Deutschlandfunk, Barley did not speak about Poland, but Viktor Orban. We also received such information from Barley’s coworkers.”

The words concerning “starving Poland and Hungary” appeared in a separate article on the radio’s website, in which the only content of the conversation with Barley was written up. The radio station also apologized for the mistake.

Commentators are doubtful, however, whether Gazeta Wyborcza and especially German media can be trusted in this case.

This week, the European Commission has prepared a crushing report for Poland concerning the rule of law. The report focuses on, among other things, judicial reform in Poland.

As a response to the constant attacks of EU institutions against Poland, Warsaw and Budapest have announced the creation of a special think tank to counter the European institutions accusations. The information was released after the meeting between Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau in Budapest on Monday.

North American Islamic Trust Chair Promotes Hamas and Hitler on Social Media

It has been over a decade since the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) federal terrorism financing trials ended, but many remnants from the trials still linger. Two of the remnants, labeled as ‘unindicted co-conspirators’ during the trials – the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) and its current Chairman Gaddor Saidi – continue to spread terror. NAIT continues to maintain its ownership of radical mosques, and Saidi uses his social media to promote such sinister entities as Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and Adolf Hitler. What will it take to stop these enemies of America and the West from operating here with impunity?

NAIT was created in 1973 to hold and protect the assets of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), the first major Muslim Brotherhood organization established in the US. Today, NAIT continues to hold the assets of the MSA along with its affiliated Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). NAIT, the MSA and ISNA, which was also named an ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ during the HLF trials, all have their distinctive roles but are all part and parcel of the same organization. NAIT is, as well, the trustee (waqf) of hundreds of Muslim-oriented properties, including Islamic centers, mosques and children’s schools (madrassas).

As stated by counter-terrorism expert Steven Emerson, in his book Jihad Incorporated, “NAIT mosques rank among the most radical in the United States.” One of the NAIT-owned mosques, the Islamic Community of Tampa (ICT), a.k.a. Masjid Al-Qassam, was founded by convicted Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader, Sami al-Arian, as part of a Southwest Florida PIJ network. ICT is currently run by fellow convicted PIJ member Hatem Fariz. Among NAIT-owned mosque alumni are: 9/11 hijacker Hani Hanjour, Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and Chattanooga, Tennessee military center shooter Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.

It made sense that NAIT and ISNA were named ‘unindicted co-conspirators’ during the HLF trials, where all of the defendants were found guilty of financing Hamas. When HLF (originally named the Occupied Land Fund) was founded, in 1988, it used the same mailing address as ISNA: P.O. Box 38, Plainfield, Indiana 46168. Ads soliciting donations for HLF, using this address, were placed under printed communiques from Hamas. The address is still ISNA’s mailing address. And of course, NAIT, at the time, controlled the assets of ISNA.

NAIT’s longtime and current Chairman, Gaddoor Saidi, was too named an ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ for the HLF trials. Saidi regularly promotes Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and their leadership on social media. One of his postings was of global Hamas leader Ismail Haniya discussing how proud he was of Algeria for rejecting calls for normalization with Israel. Saidi, himself, has been very public with his harsh denouncements of nations making peace with Israel. Saidi’s Hania posting, dated September 24th, was originally published by the Shehab News Agency, an affiliate of Hamas and a publication that Saidi likes to repost material from.

Saidi is a big fan of Muslim Brotherhood icons, like Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who is banned from entering the US, England and France for supporting such horrific acts as suicide bombings, and deceased Brotherhood writer and ideologue Sayyid Qutb, whose advocacy for violent and offensive jihad has inspired terrorist groups worldwide. Saidi also regularly posts images of deceased Brotherhood leader Mohamed Morsi, who died in prison after being removed from power by current Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Saidi has, as well, promoted Adolf Hitler on his social media. In February 2018, Saidi posted an image of Hitler along with a quote (in Arabic) attributed to the former German dictator about ways to “control people,” all under the heading, “Words of Great Men.” The graphic was taken from Makmalin, an Egyptian satellite channel based in Turkey that: calls for the “demise” of Israel; memorializes the birth and death of Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna; mourns the death of Morsi; and this past September 11th, remembered the 9/11 attacks by offensively posting photos of the World Trade Center in flames and people running from the destruction.

A section on the official website of NAIT, titled ‘Islamophobia and NAIT,’ is devoted to discussing the Holy Land Foundation trials. It is an attempt to fool people into believing that the US government falsely placed NAIT and other Muslim groups on the ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ list, throwing the designation off as being based on anti-Muslim hatred and “hearsay.” But as this author has demonstrated, the Justice Department rightfully made the designation, as NAIT continues to affiliate with radical mosques and its leadership actively supports terror.

NAIT, a Muslim extremist organization with ties to terrorism, has no place in Western society and should be banned from operating within the United States. All NAIT-related entities, including mosques and schools, need to be investigated and shut down immediately.

Wife of Boston Marathon Hero Claims Biden Groped Her

Remember #MeToo? The Democrats don’t. They’ve willfully forgotten it. The wave of accusations and ruined careers that followed the downfall of Harvey Weinstein in 2017 abruptly ended earlier this year, the minute Tara Reade accused Joe Biden of sexual assault. Suddenly, all the people who had been scolding us to #BelieveWomen were scolding us to #BelieveWomenExceptHER. They did everything they could to destroy Reade. Even Alyssa Milano, widely credited with starting the #MeToo movement, turned her back on an accuser to stand with Biden. The Dems proved, to anyone who still had a doubt, that they don’t give a damn about women.

There’s no shortage of evidence that Biden is a creep to women, but this next story is still nauseating. Jerry Dunleavy and Joseph Simonson, Washington Examiner:

The wife of a Massachusetts transit police officer who was injured in the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombers accused Joe Biden of touching her inappropriately and making a suggestive comment in 2014.

In two Facebook posts, one of which has since been deleted, Kim Donohue alleged that during a remembrance ceremony in Boston, a year after the April 2013 deadly bombing, then-Vice President Biden began “rubbing” her lower back.

“Look at those eyes, where did you get those eyes?” Donohue wrote. “Anyone else as good looking as you in that family … those eyes are mesmerizing, people must just do whatever you say…”

When reached for comment, Kim Donohue confirmed making the accusations against Biden but would not discuss them further.

Can you blame her? No matter what she says now, she’ll be excoriated by one side or the other.

Put yourself in this woman’s shoes: Your husband was critically injured while tracking down the Boston Marathon bombers. He survived and now he’s an American hero. It’s a year later, and you’re at a remembrance ceremony with the vice president of the United States.

Who starts hitting on you.

What the hell is wrong with this guy? He can’t even keep his hands off the wife of a guy who nearly died trying to stop those terrorists?

I just have a few questions for Democrats: If you cite Trump’s treatment of women as a reason not to vote for him, are you voting for Biden? If so, how do you rationalize his treatment of women? Are you really outraged about a gropey old white guy in the White House, or do you just want your own gropey old white guy in the White House?

These are rhetorical questions, of course. People can and will rationalize anything.

In the unlikely event that any “journalists” want to ask Biden about this, they’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Or the day after that. Or…

Then they’ll get to work defaming this woman, just like they defamed Tara Reade. Why would she make this story up? Are all the other women with similar stories about Biden making it up? Doesn’t matter.

It’s more probable that our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in the press will just ignore this story. Biden is the nominee and they’re stuck with him. They desperately want to get rid of Trump, and this dirtbag is their only chance. They know what he is, and they know they’re hypocrites for supporting him. They tell themselves they have no choice, because otherwise the cognitive dissonance is too painful to bear.

And now they’ll yell at me for reminding them. That’s what they do.

I believe the women who accuse Joe Biden of sexual misconduct. I also believe the women who accuse Donald Trump of sexual misconduct. If you need to make excuses for one or the other in order to preserve your worldview, I don’t envy you.

Asylum and housing: Secret Service brought Syrian torture general to Austria

In Austria, the authorities were possibly hoping for some information from a high-ranking Syrian ex-officer, who is said to have quite a record. It is an unbelievable case, which the Internet portal Fass ohne Boden uncovered on Wednesday. One thing that may well be considered a state secret turned up in a file by the Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) – and provides revealing insights into the work of the domestic secret services. According to the documents, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counter-Terrorism (BVT) helped to lure a war criminal into the country. The reason behind this was that it was hoped that the former general would provide “information on activities of the Syrian intelligence services in Austria”. However, one still had to get past the red tape in order to actually bring him into the country. To rent an apartment, one needed a bank account – and for this, in turn, one needed a certain asylum card. According to the ” Fass ohne Boden” the Office for the Protection of the Constitution gave him a little help. After all, the hoped-for insights would have “immense significance”.As an informant from diplomatic circles confirms, the former Syrian general entered Vienna with the help of a partner service and the BVT. However, due to the short time span, a little improvisation was necessary. And so the torturer general was hidden in a small apartment that belonged to the father-in-law of the head of counterintelligence. Not least thanks to the BVT assistance, the former general received his asylum status after only six months. In Austria he was then apparently given a new identity.Furthermore, an application for social welfare was filed – but under his real name. Several hundred euros in food money were thus received between October and December 2015 – although the partner service wanted to take care of all monetary matters. It soon turned out that the man known as Khaled H. was allegedly involved in human rights violations in Syria as an officer of the Syrian State Security. Proceedings in this regard are pending with the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office. Shortly thereafter, an NGO expressed concerns to the Ministry of Justice. However, these concerns were dismissed – and the cooperation was continued until 2018.And the accusations against the man are not exactly a trivial matter. As the head of a notorious department for state security, he is allegedly responsible for the “brutal suppression of demonstrations and rallies by members of the Syrian opposition. The general would even have been guilty of “active participation […] in suppressive measures”. According to an incident report, units under his command were subjected to “torture with electric shocks, rape and other psychological and sexual abuse.Even though the presumption of innocence applies to all parties involved, the case is strongly reminiscent of a current case in Germany. There, a former torture chief of the regime has to answer for alleged crimes against humanity. There, the accusation of involvement in the killing of 58 people and in more than 4,000 cases of torture has been raised. Neither, by the way, was a reason to deny asylum to the alleged defector to the opposition. On the contrary: without a detailed hearing, Anwar R. was granted asylum in Germany after only six days. There the Foreign Office was apparently involved in the easy way to come to Germany. He never delivered the promised information…

Paris: Neighbors hamper arrest of North African double murder suspect

A drama unfolded in Paris, Wednesday September 30. In the twentieth arrondissement, shortly before 8 pm, the police intervened for a double murder, after being alerted by a neighbor.

The latter heard loud voices resembling an argument. By the time they arrived on site, the officers could distinguish moans. While the Fire Brigade were asked to open the door without an external handle, an individual of “North African type”, about 30 years old, shaved head, beard, totally naked and covered in blood, came out on the landing, screaming. The police tried to subdue the suspect but the latter managed to get back into his accommodation by closing the door.

Also according to a police source, the agents heard, through the door, the man reciting prayers in Arabic and pronouncing “the formula of Chahada” [There is no god but Allah and Mohamed is his messenger].

After forcing the front door, the police discovered a horror scene and two lifeless bodies. One of the women died from a head injury. The other was naked, in cardio-respiratory arrest, and seriously wounded. She died soon after.

Police were able to determine the identity of the man who made the inconsistent comments. During his arrest, he attempted to attack the officers. The police were hampered by Muslim “onlookers” denouncing police violence. An individual even approached the vehicle marked “Police” and refused to leave.

The suspect was taken into custody. He is also known to psychiatric services. According to a police source, the two women severely beaten to death are the suspect’s mother and aunt.

Merkel’s government is ‘undermining solidarity with Israel’

The commissioner to combat antisemitism in the German state of Hesse launched a fiery attack on the reportedly anti-Israel bias of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government at the UN.Uwe Becker, who is also the president of the German-Israel friendship society, told The Jerusalem Post following Germany’s abstention last week at the UN on an anti-Israel resolution, that “even in times of rapprochement between Israel and the Arab states, interested countries continue their smear theater at the United Nations and once again pillory the Jewish state. Now there must be an end to the ducking away. Germany’s abstention only strengthens Israel’s enemies at the UN and weakens the efforts for peace in the region.”

He continued that “I am very disappointed about Germany’s vote after a new resolution on the alleged violations of women’s rights by Israel,” adding that “Germany is undermining solidarity with Israel if it does not finally take a clear and unequivocal stand at the United Nations against the politically staged permanent condemnation of Israel. Neutrality is inappropriate when the moral verdict of guilt is passed on Israel.”Becker, widely considered the most forceful German political advocate for the security of the state of Israel, said that “attitude and backbone are required, not passivity and diplomatic kowtowing. If, at the end of a vote, Israel is the only country in the world accused of violating women’s rights and countries decide to do so where women have virtually no rights, then the German side should finally wake up.”The UN’s Economic and Social Council’s resolution accused Israel of restricting the human rights of women in the disputed Palestinian territories. Becker said the resolution completely distorts Israel’s policy and “is being used to create populist sentiment against the Jewish state. It is not Israel that decides on the rights of women in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, but the Palestinian leaders there. Hamas and Fatah also bear the main responsibility for the economic and social situation on the ground.”He continued: “The fact that Europe was only sitting on the spectator’s bench during the recent rapprochement between Israel and individual Arab states also has its reasons in the weak and faceless policy of the EU at the United Nations. If Germany remains passive, Europe will remain on the spectator’s bench. I expect clear initiatives from the German Presidency of the Council of the EU for a stronger solidarity of Europe towards Israel at the UN.”Frank Müller-Rosentritt, an MP for the Free Democratic Party in the Bundestag, tweeted “An inglorious tradition continues! Once again Israel is explicitly condemned, while the conditions in other countries are consistently ignored. Double standards &  Federal Government abstains!”

The foreign policy spokesman of the German Green Party, Omid Nouripour, declined to respond to a Post query about Becker’s criticism. Nouripour is on the advisory board of a group that promotes the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. The Bundestag classified BDS as antisemitic. German Jewish leaders and Becker have urged Nouripour to resign from the reportedly antisemitic BDS group. The Post sent press queries to Merkel’s office and her social democratic foreign minister, Heiko Maas.

“Infidel, I will slaughter you”: Long imprisonment for Islamist knife attacker in Austria

At the Innsbruck Regional Court, a suspected Islamist was sentenced to 14 years in prison on suspicion of membership in a terrorist organization and for attempted murder of an acquaintance.

Even though there is disagreement about his exact origin – the newspaper Krone calls him a stateless Palestinian, the newspaper oe24 a Syrian – it is clear: The man, who had already been in Austria since 2005, became more and more radical in Tyrol. This was confirmed by a local woman who had taken him in – in the end he did not even shake her hand. At the turn of the year he then attacked an acquaintance. After being placed with a family in the Außerfern area with stopovers in the Traiskirchen asylum camp and in Vienna, the ” skilled worker” made a living from gardening. And became more and more religious by the way. The accommodation provider tells how he suddenly grew a beard, loaded more and more anti-Israel symbols onto his cell phone. Flags of the terrorist militia “Islamic State” hung in his room. Finally he announced to his hosts: “I do have to hate all enemies of Allah”.He probably saw one of the latter in an Iraqi who was repairing a car in a garage in Höfen (district of Reutte) on New Year’s Day. The two men got into an argument before the presumed stabber threatened to kill his friend on religious grounds. He said: “Infidel! Why do you not pray, why do you drink? I have told you many times – I will slaughter you!” Then he stabbed – and his victim remained unharmed only by skilful defense of the attack.During a raid, the officials then realized how far radicalization had progressed at that time. Because in addition to the flags in his room, the migrant even advertised for the “Islamic State” on the mailbox of his cell phone! He was also in contact with jihadists from Vienna who were wanted by the police. The man himself tried to placate in court: “I am only interested in religions, but I am not a psychopath. The jury did not allow itself to be misled by this and passed a unanimous – but not yet final – sentence: 14 years of imprisonment. Why the Intelligence Service only became aware of the man after the attack remains unclear for the time being.

German court evicts elderly couple from home to accommodate refugees

A district court in Nürtingen, Germany, confirmed an eviction claim that orders an elderly pensioner couple from Neckartailfingen to move out by the end of the month because the local community wants to accommodate refugees in their apartment, Germans news outlet Wendlingen-Nürtinger Zeitung reported.

The 76-year-old man, who suffered a stroke last year, and his 73-year-old partner have to leave their six-room apartment, which they have been renting for 25 years. According to the court, which confirmed the eviction claim, accommodating refugees is more important than any other hardship.

“Since we received the notice of our eviction, our health has deteriorated,” says the elderly woman.

Although the couple will move to a two-room apartment, offered by the community as an alternative, going to the village will be extremely difficult for the 76-year-old man with a walker.

The couple says they feel left alone.

“We don’t know what happens next, and the time until the end of the month is getting shorter and shorter,” said the 76-year-old before the moving day, which was set for Sept. 30.

The pensioners had tried everything to stay in the familiar surroundings after the Neckartailfingen community sent them termination of the lease at the end of October 2018. The municipality now intends to use their home for the planned accommodation of refugees in the future.

A few months ago, the old couple pointed out their health issues when appealing against the eviction action, ordered by the municipality of Neckartailfingen. The previous year, the 76-year-old man suffered a stroke and has been using a walker since then, just like his 73-year-old partner.

Although the judge of the district court had recognized the “hardship” of the pensioners, it “does not outweigh the justified interests of the landlord.”

The senior citizens appealed against the decision. Three judges from the Stuttgart Regional Court rejected this appeal without further hearing. According to them, the municipality has “a legitimate reason” for the eviction since “the apartment is necessary for the fulfillment of public law tasks and obligations.”

The community has “clearly demonstrated and proven that they need the apartment to accommodate refugees,” the court continued.

“We do not stand a chance,” the 76-year-old stated, adding, however, that the judgment is unfair.

The kitchen in the new apartment will be completely unfurnished and without a sink. The municipality also wants a deposit of two months’ rent even though there was no such requirement in their current apartment.

And what happens to the furniture from the bigger apartment that can no longer be used in the new, smaller one?

“The tenants are responsible for the disposal of the furniture,” Mayor Gerhard Gertitschke stated on the topic.

The community had also promised to help the senior couple with moving, which will be very difficult because of the narrow stairs in the building, however, Mayor Gertitschke’s response appears to show little sympathy for the two pensioners.

“You can use your vehicle. Also, there are now very good electrically powered walkers and electric vehicles that are street legal,” he added.

When and how many asylum seekers will move in the apartment has not yet been determined.

“I’ll deal with that when the tenants have moved out,” said Mayor Gertitschke.
