On suspicion of attempted sexual assault, the Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office and the Esslingen criminal investigation department are investigating a 29-year-old man from Nürtingen who on Friday night allegedly knocked down a 19-year-old woman in Neuffener Street in order to commit sexual offence. The man is now in custody.Around 01:30 a.m. a witness reported the incident via emergency call to the police, after he had saved the 19-year-old before. According to previous investigations, the 19-year-old was walking along Neuffener Street when the 29-year-old ran towards her and then dragged her into a side street against her will. He then pressed the young woman to the ground and tried to rape her. The young woman, who defended herself and called out loudly for help, was able to alert several passers-by who then rushed to her aid. The perpetrator then fled the scene and was arrested by the police as part of an immediately initiated search.The accused 29-year-old Guinean was brought before a magistrate at the Nürtingen district court on Saturday at the request of the Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office. After the arrest warrant was issued, it was carried out and the 29-year-old was sent to a prison.
