At the Bremen Regional Court, the trial against the Syrian citizen Osman A. has commenced. The victim, Jihan C., fled Syria in 2016. In a refugee shelter in Germany she met her future husband – and her tormentor. In 2016 she became pregnant by him – and he, according to the media, began to regard her more and more as his property and to treat her accordingly. After a separation, he forced a clarifying conversation – in which he stabbed the woman’s left eye with a pointed object. According to the victim, the doctors told her that the left eye had to be removed. 
The tabloid BILD reports:

She split up, months later he forced a clarifying conversation in her apartment. At some point Osman A. went into the kitchen, fetched something from the cutlery drawer. “Then suddenly I felt a blow to my eye, blood splashed.” On the way to the clinic the Syrian man became violent again in the bus.
