Today, early Sunday morning, around 5:20 a.m., in a fast food restaurant in the Kassel district of Bettenhausen, there was a dispute between a 23-year-old Syrian citizen living in Kassel, a 35-year-old German of Iraqi origin, and a 26-year-old man from Colombia, who wanted to mediate between the two of the aforementioned. According to the current state of the investigation, the dispute arose because the 35-year-old had chatted with the 23-year-old’s girlfriend, which he disliked. The situation then apparently escalated to such an extent that the 23-year-old attacked the other two men in the course of the physical confrontation with a jackknife. Both men suffered cuts on their hands and upper body, which were not life-threatening, but had to be treated in Kassel hospitals after first aid by the paramedics. The aggressor could still be arrested in the restaurant by the police officers who had been alerted by emergency call and the knife could be seized. Witnesses who can provide further relevant information are asked to contact the East Police Department by calling 0561 910-2520.
