A 23-year-old man attacked a federal police officer at Stuttgart central station late last Friday evening at 11:10 p.m. and then resisted the police measures. The Eritrean citizen was first to be police inspected on one of the platforms, as he had previously used a regional train to Stuttgart without a valid ticket. When the train arrived, the young man fled directly across the tracks, but was arrested shortly afterwards by a patrol of the Federal Police. The 23-year-old jumped towards one of the deployed federal police officers with his knee raised and hit him in the face. As a result, the man, alcoholic at about 1.6 per mille, had to be fixed and tied to the ground while opposing the police measures. The Federal Police officer suffered a redness in his face as a result of the incident, but remained fit to serve. The 23-year-old now has to face investigative proceedings on suspicion of assault on police officers, assault and battery and fare evasion.
