Paris: Swan Lake out, Black Lives Matter in

“De la question raciale à l’Opera national de Paris” is the title of the manifesto by which, in the wake of Black Lives Matter, four hundred employees of the Paris Opera ask for “diversity” in the three hundred year old institution. The George Floyd case motivated them. The arrival of a new director provided the opportunity.

Alexander Neef comes from Toronto, where he directed the Canadian Opera Company, and across North America, multiculty is pervasive in the arts. Thus in the “Bayadère,” the “Dance of the Negroes” became the “Dance of the Children”. Enough “practices of colonial or slave heritage,”. they said.

An investigation by Le Monde says that Neef foreshadows the disappearance of “certain works” included in the repertoire by Rudolf Nureyev, director of dance at the Paris Opera from 1983 to 1989. Neef names “Swan Lake” and “Nutcracker”.

“Some works will undoubtedly disappear from the repertoire,” says Neef. The director asked a group of experts to reflect on “white ballet, the archetype of classical ballet that requires a homogeneous dance troupe”. These are the tutu ballets that abound in the works set to music by Pëtr Ilicč CČajkovskij (Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in the West).

France, Europe in general, is “Americanizing” at top speed. After the decolonization of films, museums and universities, it is time to “decolonize the arts”. Including classical music. The New York Times accuses symphony orchestras of being “the least diverse institutions” and of hiding “a problem of racism”, while New Music USA claims that “classical music is inherently racist”.

Major works are already under review. A clean version of Mozart’s “Magic Flute” was staged at the Compagnietheater in Amsterdam, after director Lotte de Beer discovered racist expressions there. The Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona has rewritten Rossini’s “Il viaggio a Reims”, replacing the word “cross” with “love”, while in the Maggio Fiorentino it is Bizet’s “Carmen” that kills Don José.

At the Sorbonne, the staging of Aeschylus’ “The suppliants” was prevented by indigenous activists, who had protested against the masks worn by white actors. Laurent Dubreuil, a French literary critic who teaches at Cornell University, in the US, has published for the prestiious Gallimard Publishing house an essay as short as it is powerful, “La Dictature des identités”, where he explains that having an identity now means having the identity of a victim, suffering, oppressed, traumatized, dominated.

Hence the idea of revising the repertoire of the Paris Opera. “The ideological revisionism that claims to ‘decolonize culture’ is a hatred of culture in a broad sense: of classical, humanist and modern culture”, Isabelle Barbéris, author of “L’art du politiquement correct” (Presses Universitaires de France), told me. It is a desire to “transform art into social engineering”.

Do you remember the Soviet Union? That is just what they did there. And it is from there that Rudolf Nureyev himself fled.

Antiracism is the new word for Communism and tyrannic repression.

Italian opposition gathers 100,000 signatures calling for the resignation of PM Conte

The year in Italian politics began with the threat of a government crisis after the smallest ruling party, Living Italy, issued an ultimatum to Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte that he must answer by Thursday, and the opposition collected 100,000 signatures in one day that call for the resignation of the prime minister.

According to Italian press reports, the fate of Giuseppe Conte’s government will be decided by Jan. 7. The generally well-informed affaritaliani news portal estimated the chances of a government crisis at more than 90 percent. Other sources, however, are considering the possibility of a change of government.

The ultimatum was led by Matteo Renzi, whose party, the Living Italy (IV), gives around 3 percent of votes to the governing coalition. The IV has announced that it will withdraw its two ministers from the government by Jan. 7 if the prime minister does not comply with the party’s requests. The IV’s demands include that the prime minister involve government parties as widely as possible in the use of the €209 billion economic recovery fund for the country, as well as the use of European Stability Mechanism (ESM) funds by the government. In addition, Matteo Renzi is urging Giuseppe Conte to hand over the leadership of the secret services, which the prime minister took in his own hands months ago.

Renzi made no secret of his willingness to “challenge” even Conte in parliament, who without the IV senators does not have the majority needed to govern in the upper house. Analysts say Renzi wants a change of prime minister, not a government. Commentators noted that Renzi was the spiritual father of the second Conte government formed in September 2019. At that time, the Five Star Movement (M5S) behind Giuseppe Conte continued to govern with the left-wing Democratic Party (PD) instead of the right-wing League.

However, Conte considers his position as head of government to be certain, arguing that no one really wants a crisis and early elections, so he is ready to ask for confidence in parliament.

Observers see tensions in the government the Democratic Party could use to its advantage to ask for new ministerial portfolios in exchange for the head of government’s support. President Sergio Mattarella has previously ruled out the possibility of a third Conte government, but the current health and economic emergency also makes it difficult to hold new elections. The head of state has the opportunity to dissolve parliament until July, as it will no longer be possible for him to do so until the next president of the republic is elected in 2022.

At the same time, Giorgia Meloni, president of the Italian Brothers (FdI), launched an online signature collection calling for the resignation of Giuseppe Conte, gathering 100,000 supporters by Sunday in just 24 hours.

Cultural Commissioner of the German Protestant Church (EKD) claims: The Holy Qur’an is the “third Testament”

In a review in the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the cultural representative of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD), Johann Hinrich Claussen, declares the Holy Qur’an to be a ‘third Testament'”.

Jesus Christ is thus no longer the Son of God, but is downgraded to a prophet. The Trinity, which from the Muslim point of view is polytheism, is also invalidated. The EKD handout “Klarheit und gute Nachbarschaft: Christen und Muslime in Deutschland” (Clarity and Good Neighbourliness: Christians and Muslims in Germany) published in 2006 still contains an unambiguous Christian confession, with an affirmation of the missionary mandate, according to which the message of God’s justification is to be communicated to all the world.

Apparently, the EKD has revised its position in the meantime. The theologian Margot Käßmann is mentioned, who sees the relevance of Luther today in the fact that we can learn from other religions that there are other ways to reach God besides Christ.Although Luther himself did not really practise this, fortunately we are much further ahead today, argues Käßmann. The EKD is also adapting to this new trend: “The challenge is to speak of Christ, but in such a way that the faith of others is not devalued or declared to be untrue”. The church renounces “one-way communication”, no longer wants to act as “organiser” and “provider”, but will profile, concentrate and, if necessary, reduce its own offers in close and sustainable coordination with civil society partners.

In plain language, no longer speak of Christ. Because the exclusivity of Jesus Christ can be perceived as presumptuous and arrogant in a religiously plural society. Perhaps one wants to discuss the contents of the Christian faith with the Central Council of Muslims in the future?

One recognises a spreading disorientation.

Significant numbers of German nursing staff refusing Covid-19 vaccine

For a large number of old people in nursing homes, a Corona vaccination is likely to be given a little earlier than expected. That is because about half of the nursing staff in Germany have decided to forego the “privilege” of being vaccinated against Corona first.

German weekly Spiegel cited information from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. According to the report, fear of the vaccine is prevalent in the industry: no one wants to be a “guinea pig”.

This is despite the fact that German Health Minister Jens Spahn had tried hard very hard to sell the vaccine. At a press conference in Berlin, the health minister said, according to ÄrzteZeitung: “It’s a matter of common sense. People who work in the healthcare sector have a special responsibility. It’s about protecting the people you care for.”

His warning has obviously been of little use. While nursing staff can be accused of some things, it is certainly not because they lack information on the subject of vaccination or practical experience in dealing with diseases.

The ÄrzteZeitung, on the other hand, assesses the vaccination risks more optimistically than many nurses and quoted Klaus Cichutek from the Paul Ehrlich Institute:

The President of the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI), Professor Klaus Cichutek, again assured all that the vaccine had been tested by BioNTech/Pfizer according to all the usual rules, was very effective and well tolerated. According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the usual side effects of the vaccination such as pressure pain at the injection site, headache, malaise or pain in the limbs are moderate, at best slightly stronger than with the influenza vaccination. According to Cichutek, it is not yet possible to say whether the post-vaccination immunization will last longer than a year.

On January 2, a video was published on the Epoch Times YouTube channel questioning the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine. Zacharias Fögen, German doctor and statistician from Kassel, studied the 376-page protocol submitted for the investigation of the “safety and effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine” that Pfizer and BioNtech had given to the American Medicines Agency (FDA) for approval of the Corona vaccine.

The documents showed that unvaccinated people were more likely to contract Covid-19, but less than 2,5 percent of them “severely”. In contrast, the proportion of developing a serious disease among those vaccinated is 12,5 percent. This means that if one is vaccinated, the chances of not getting “Corona” are much better, but if it happens anyway, you have a five times higher risk of a severe illness.

A “supplementary appendix” published separately for the protocol also revealed that the vaccination showed life-threatening side effects in 44 of around 44 000 test subjects that required urgent medical intervention. The protocol also stated that up to 84 percent of the test subjects showed adverse reactions to the vaccination. This is especially the case in younger people and those taking the second dose of vaccine. Often severe impairments in everyday life were reported.

In relation to the total number of 18 000 study participants, the vaccination protected 154 people, i.e. less than one percent of those vaccinated. If one also takes into account the vaccination reactions to be expected, the overburdened health system will not benefit from the vaccinations.

According to Fögen, there is some evidence that the effectiveness of the vaccination decreases after two months, as does the immunity after an infection during the same period. If all of this is true, the physical integrity of many perfectly healthy people will be jeopardized by the vaccination without any benefit and a lot of money wasted.

Blatant: Mainstream media author compares New Year’s Eve riots to Rural Youth

In an editorial, Standard columnist Hans Rauscher compares the Muslims who marauded through Favoriten on New Year’s Eve with the Austrian youth organisation ” Rural Youth”. The latter is now demanding an apology.

On the night of the turn of the year, a group of about 30 oriental immigrants left a trail of devastation in the district of Favoriten in Vienna. They demolished shop windows, vending machines, newspaper stands, benches and blew up rubbish bins. Even the Christmas tree in the middle of Reumannplatz square was poured over with petrol. Afterwards they fired firecrackers, which had twice the explosive power of a live grenade, at police officers and residents.

Then yesterday a commentary appeared in the online newspaper derstandard.at dealing with the event. One sentence in particular in the column caused a stir, in which the author claimed that similar incidents would also occur among the rural youth:

Riots on “let the dog loose” occasions are traditionally also to be found among the local rural youth.

The chairpersons of the Rural Youth Austria, Ramona Rutrecht and Martin Kubli, reacted indignantly in a statement:

Absurd. One of the country’s leading opinion journalists can think of nothing better than to compare these criminal incidents with rural youth festivals. We reject this comparison in the strongest possible terms, will consider legal action against this insinuation and demand a public apology from Hans Rauscher.

Only a few years ago, Rauscher was bullying people who warned of the negative effects of immigration and showed himself to be naively gullible:

Young men will marry European women. Europe will become a little more oriental, that’s true. But only a bit. And for those who are worried about “Islam”: the free, secular, pluralistic European society will do its seductive work.

Germany: A district in Essen suffers from outbreaks of violence by Muslim migrants (Videos)

Essen district of Altenessen-Mitte on Saturday morning just 36 hours after the New Year’s Eve riot. They have provisionally secured the completely demolished bus stop with red and white tarpaulin, the red paving stones are covered with shards of glass. The trail of devastation can be seen from the stairs of the underground station to Altenessener market: a dozen waste paper baskets, torn from their anchors and destroyed, lie on the ground. Of the two green dustbins set on fire in the middle of the market square, one is half melted. A little further on, the demolished neon sign with a pile of broken glass underneath.First the closed St. Mary’s Hospital, in some cases fights between Lebanese and Syrians, now the New Year’s Eve riots. The district is not calming down. “Something has to happen here, we definitely need more police,” says dog trainer Franziska Thelen, waiting for the bus and looking at the demolished bus stop. “A year ago they broke those windows on New Year’s Eve, too.”A passer-by stops by, pulls out her mobile phone and takes a photo of the sign of the outbreak of violence: the shattered bus stop. “Yes, it has become worse here,” says the woman who has moved from Oberhausen. The sight of the damage is terrible. Until now she had felt safe in Altenessen, but now doubts come up in her mind. “You don’t dare walk past here at night any more. The small area between the Alter Badeanstalt and Altenessener Markt is one of the busiest in the whole district. Three bus and two underground lines meet here, plus the busy Altenessener Street, and only a stone’s throw away is the highly frequented Allee-Center.Was the New Year’s Eve riot a spontaneous outbreak of violence or possibly a carefully staged and planned action? The “Tik-Tok video”, set to gangsta rap and composed with precisely edited riot images, speaks more for the latter. The sequence with the sledgehammer at the bus stop underpins this. No one goes to a New Year’s Eve party with a sledgehammer.”The police have to be tough,” says the taxi driver, who is of Turkish origin. And he adds: ” When I see the destruction here, it makes me cry. He is sure that young men with Arab-Kurdish-Lebanese roots committed the riot. Disrespect and violence – that’s what they learned from their parents. “The old tell the young: Nothing can happen to you, we are stateless”.
