Afghan migrant: “We love Turkey very much, we do not love Greece at all”

Making the rounds on Turkish media are the comments an Afghan migrant recently made: “We love Turkey very much. We do not love Greece at all.”

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But the question then is why did the migrant leave Turkey to try and enter Greece?

The first and expected reaction would be because he wants to eventually reach another European country like Germany, the United Kingdom or Sweden and not stay in Greece.

But then the question becomes- why did he not try and enter Europe from Bulgaria instead?

Well that is because in early March, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reassured Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov that no illegal migrants will be sent to his country, thus proving that the unleash of tens of thousands illegal immigrants on Greece’s border in February and March was nothing more than an asymmetric invasion attempt by Turkey.

The illegal Afghan migrant identified himself as Ali Muhammad and said he had no love for Greece despite desperately trying to enter illegally.

“Greece is not good, but Turkey is very beautiful. They beat us. They took our things. They took our shoes. You see, my friend’s feet are very bad,” he said.

Of course though, in another article published by Greek City Times, the lies of Turkish media and the illegal immigrants were debunked.

“We walked here from the Evros River. Now we will walk to Istanbul from here. They did not take us to Greece. We love Turkey. We do not like Greece at all,” he said.

Although Turkey funded, transported and and encouraged illegal immigrants to enter Greece, it appears many of them have not realised that they have just been used as a Turkish chess piece against Greece – which utterly failed.

Despite coronavirus crippling Turkey with over 112,000 cases and 2,900 deaths according to the latest figures, with those disputing the official figures being arrested, Turkey has not abated its aggression against Greece.

Turkey continues to violate Greek airspace on a daily basis, publish provocative news that Greece’s islands belong to Turkey and sends illegal immigrants.

Germany Ditches Insulting Cartoon Depicting Turkey as Greece’s Mother

A German government cartoon which inexplicably depicted Greece as a young girl holding the hand of her mother, representing the nation of Turkey, has been withdrawn after a furious social media backlash by Greeks residing in Germany.

The cartoon appeared online over the weekend as part of a public information campaign on how to battle the Coronavirus, through the medium of sixteen different languages. But the sight of the young Greek girl under the protection of “Mother Turkey” angered a great many social media users. It was viewed as if Turkey was portrayed as being more successful than Greece in dealing with the pandemic, which — according to official data — is absolutely not true. The inexplicable gaffe prompted a flurry of comments on social media, with many attributing it to a lack of sensitivity in Germany — and a minority of users even suggesting that the juxtaposition might have been intentional.

Wiesenthal may list German diplomat for antisemitism on its top 10 list

The international human rights organization Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Rabbi Abraham Cooper told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday that the NGO is considering including the senior-level German diplomat Andreas Görgen on its top 10 list of worst outbreaks of antisemitism and anti-Israelism for 2020 due to his support of antisemitic positions.Rabbi Cooper, the associate dean of the Wiesenthal Center, said that “Andreas Görgen would be a candidate, especially because of his rank and the timing his tweets and statement that were leading up to Yom Hashoah [Holocaust Remembrance Day].”

Cooper said that “there must be a price to pay  by support of  people who want to get rid of Israel” and say it is “ worse than apartheid.” Cooper said this is “over the top antisemitism.”Görgen affirmatively tweeted articles in favour of the pro-BDS academic Achille Mbembe, who has claimed the Jewish state is worse than former apartheid regime in South Africa and called for the “global isolation” of Israel.Mbembe signed a BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) petition against academics from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Critics, including Germany’s federal commissioner to combat antisemitism Felix Klein, said Mbembe trivialized the Holocaust via his comparison of the Shoah with apartheid. Klein classified Mbembe’s language as antisemitic. Cooper said the fact this [Görgen’s support for Mbembe] is coming from “the top echelons of the Foreign Ministry is troubling.”The Post reported on Görgen’s tweets in favor of Mbembe last week.

Cooper asked “What do we can expect from the uneducated man on the street” who reads about antisemitism studies and reports when the “gatekeeper for cultural and educational communications for the foreign ministry  is validating this kind of hate around Yom Hashoah.”Cooper added “Why would anybody would be surprised what is happening on the streets of Germany” in connection with rising Jew-hatred when Görgen is endorsing an alleged antisemite.“It is past due for the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, who said he went into politics because of Auschwitz, to  start showing in real terms and real life his commitment to fight antisemitism, especially when it rears its head in his Foreign Ministry,” said Cooper.“I am worried sick that for the second year in row we have consider naming a top echelon official of the German government in the top 10. We need the German Government to act swiftly against antisemitism expressed from within its own diplomats and gatekeepers.”When asked about the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s criticism of Görgen and his tweets in support of an academic who allegedly trivialized the Holocaust and spreads antisemitism, the Foreign Ministry told the Post on Friday: “”We ask for your understanding that we won’t comment on the issue mentioned.”Cooper said on Friday that the German foreign minister needs to launch an investigation into Görgen’s tweets in support of Mbembe. The Wiesenthal center’s top Nazi-hunter Efraim Zuroff urged Maas to discharge Görgen last week.Last year, the director of the German Foreign Ministry’s representation for the Palestinian territories, Christian Clages, was revealed to have liked scores of antisemitic tweets while using his government Twitter feed. Clages retained his job. The German paper Bild broke the story about Clages. The Foreign Ministry disciplined Clages for liking neo-Nazi and KKK tweets. Görgen has refused to answer numerous Post media queries.

Facebook is Spending Millions to Plant Radical Activists in Local Newspapers

When the Alliance Defending Freedom helped a local church sue Chattanooga for banning its drive-in prayer service, the article in the Chattanooga Times Free Press repeated the Southern Poverty Law Center’s smear of the religious civil rights organization as a hate group. But the reporter who wrote the article was no ordinary employee. Wyatt Massey was one of the 225 members of Report for America’s ‘corps’ who are planted in local newsrooms to promote the radical agendas of the left-wing group.

“Will Trump’s new public charge rule close door on immigrants’ hope of the American dream?” Manuel Obed asked at The Dallas News. Obed has been with the RFA ‘corps’ pushing out pro-illegal stories.

In 1976, William Garrison, along with two other thugs, broke into a home in Detroit, killed a man, and shot two other people. When Garrison recently died of coronavirus, the Detroit Free Press article treating him like a victim was written by Angie Jackson, another ‘corps’ member. Jackson’s beat, according to Report for America, is “formerly incarcerated citizens re-entering the community.”

While Report for America claims that it’s funding local journalism, what it’s actually doing is embedding social justice activists in local papers who are often targeted at pursuing a narrow political agenda.

Leah Willingham was placed at the Associated Press to focus on the “Mississippi state legislature” and its “actions affecting the poor”, Kyeland Jackson was planted in Twin Cities Public Television to cover the “causes, effects and solutions to racial disparities in Minnesota”, Shivani Patel was dispatched to the Ventura County Star to write about “equity in education  in the county”, and Devna Bose was shoved into The Charlotte Observer to report on “poor and minority communities in prosperous Charlotte”.

The agenda is often built into the very description of what Report for America’s activists are doing. Or at least it is to Report for America’s donors who are told what the activists they fund are doing. But ordinary readers of local publications and stations are often not told that what they’re reading isn’t real local reporting: it’s the work of activists funded by a national organization and its wealthy backers.

The lack of transparency is dishonest, unethical, and a new low even in the era of fake news.

The left-wing foundations and donors aren’t funding journalism, they’re buying coverage that fits their agenda. And local newspapers are renting out their newsrooms to wealthy left-wing organizations. Beyond the usual radical foundations like the Ford Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Knight Foundation, the Facebook Journalism Project has poured millions of dollars into RFA.

“Local journalists are providing us with an extraordinary public service 24 hours a day,” Facebook’s Campbell Brown, falsely claimed. “We all need to understand how the virus is impacting the communities where we live—it’s vital information that’s helping keep our friends and families safe, and we’re proud to support Report for America in this effort.”

Except that Report for America’s model is finding young activists and parachuting them into local communities to purse some narrow political agenda. That’s not journalism. 6 of the activists from RFA’s current class will be covering ‘climate change’, 9 will be covering poverty, and 4 will be covering prisons.

Report for America’s focus on identity politics and its base of white lefties parachuting in to produce agitprop sometimes results ludicrous pairings like Samuel Bojarski, a Jewish freelance writer from Pittsburgh, being dumped into The Haitian Times to cover the Haitian community. But mostly its activists are young women, some have worked for lefty organizations, and their politics are predictable.

Facebook has often been accused of spreading fake news. Here it, along with the Google News Initiative, which kicked in $400,000, is literally financing a fake news project which pays half the salaries of the reporters it embeds in local newsrooms, while its own funding comes from wealthy left-wing groups.

Most newspapers are happy with the arrangement: it’s the readers who are cheated.

Facebook has claimed that its Journalism Project will fight fake news, instead it’s funding it. If the social media monopoly giant wanted to support journalism, it could do so in any number of ways. By financing Report for America’s activism, it’s helping fund papers on the condition that they run propaganda.

This isn’t philanthropy, it’s politics.

Not only is Facebook financing a political agenda, its funding of RFA represents an even deeper conflict of interest when the embedded activists from the left-wing group start functioning as fact checkers. The social media monopoly has used media fact checkers in an on and off way to censor conservatives.

The current RFA ‘corps’ class embedded Clara Hendrickson, of the left-wing Brookings Institute think tank, into the Detroit Free Press, where she’s tasked with ‘fact checking’ Michigan politicians for the paper and for the PolitiFact site.

The conflicts of interest here are so convoluted that they require their own flow chart.

A research analyst for a partisan think tank is funded by a left-wing organization to ‘fact check’ political candidates for a major newspaper which has already accepted two other embedded RFA activists. PolitiFact then intends to treat her attacks on Republicans as ‘facts’, and Facebook, which is funding the whole shebang, will censor conservatives on social media based on her partisan hit pieces.

Fact checking already consists of partisan attacks by the media under the guise of objectivity. RFA is helping the media shelve even the thinnest pretenses of objectivity and ethics in pursuit of its goals.

Or, as Hendrickson tweeted, “I’m thrilled to say I’ll be joining @freep in partnership with @PolitiFact as a @report4america corps member, fact-checking federal, state and local candidates in a key swing state ahead of the 2020 election.” Is ‘fact checking’ federal candidates any more important in a swing state? It is if your goal isn’t searching for the truth, but helping Joe Biden win the White House.

Like its activist, RFA zeroed in on the ‘key swing state’ element to justify Hendrickson’s role, explaining that, “Michigan’s need for fact-checking is particularly critical because it has been identified as one of only four true “swing” states in the 2020 presidential election… additionally, there is a Senate race in Michigan in 2020 that is widely considered a toss-up.” This isn’t journalism, it’s an election strategy.

Or, as PolitiFact Editor Angie Drobnic Holan noted in her gushing statement about the ‘fact checking’ site’s partnership with a left-wing group, “We intend to fact-check the messaging of the presidential election, as well as the race for U.S. Senate.” Actual journalists check their own facts. Activists redefine activism, partisan messaging, and hit pieces as fact checking because it still fools some people.

Here’s a sample of Clara’s commitment to truth and facts, “Spoiler: Trump’s racist rhetoric has encouraged violence in America.”

The only thing the PolitiFact partnership demonstrates is that ‘fact checkers’ are just as eager to rent out their coverage to wealthy donors as newspapers as long as it’s for the same left-wing causes.

Brokering complicated entanglements between wealthy lefty donors, lefty non-profits, and newspapers into unethical conflicts of interest is one of the few things that Report for America does well.

The Kansas City Star accepted three of RFA’s activists who will all be tasked with finding solutions to gun violence. These solutions will not involve locking up the shooters and throwing away the key. One of the RFA activists at the Kansas City Star is Humera Lodhi, a Muslim blogger at the Huffington Post, with a fellowship at the Marshall Project, a left-wing pro-crime think tank that blames gun violence on guns.

The Star not only managed to bring in an activist who is funded by one left-wing organization, but two left-wing organizations, while having her cover the very area of advocacy that is a major focus of the second organization. It’s hard to imagine how this arrangement could be any more biased and unethical. But there’s little doubt that Report for America will find a way.

Report for America is an initiative of the Ground Truth Project, a non-profit, which is partnering with for-profit papers, and the Project was born out GlobalPost, a for-profit organization. GlobalPost was going to use GTP to produce reporting for it. This conflict of interest went national when GTP was spun off into its own non-profit and RTA is used to seed content into for-profit publications.

Despite its peans to journalism, dumping a few activists into local papers and then paying half their salaries won’t keep local news alive. If anything, it will help alienate more of the remaining subscribers. RTA is just another venture by former journalists to monetize the last remains of journalism by turning it into a political weapon. There’s not much money in journalism, but lots of cash flowing into politics.

Corrupting, prostituting, and weaponizing journalism is helping destroy what little integrity it has.

RTA is eliminating what little difference there is between the media and political activism. It’s not alone in the field, but it’s the most successful organization and has the best financed of any of its rivals. Its founders have seen the bright future where journalism is a vestigial limb of political non-profits who instead of buying election ads, buy the whole paper without having to manage it or pay taxes on it.

And the whole thing is funded by the dot com monopolies who helped destroy journalism.

Germany: Arabic looking men beat up mentally disabled wheelchair user

The police are looking for witnesses of an attack by two men on a wheelchair user. The man was injured in the attack on the Aldi parking lot at the street Adolf-Grimme-Ring in Kleinmachnow. The ambulance service was alerted to the incident on Saturday around 1:50 pm. Since it quickly became clear that the man was the victim of a crime, police from the Potsdam Inspection were called in, the police reported on Monday.

According to the victim, two men on bicycles had approached him. One of them deliberately brushed against him, shouted at him and insulted the physically and mentally obviously severely handicapped person. While one of the attackers suddenly kicked the victim in the face, the other one punched the 48-year-old in the face with his fist until he fell from his wheelchair onto the floor. The 48-year-old suffered head and facial injuries that had to be treated by rescue workers on site and later in a hospital. The perpetrators left the injured man lying there and fled in the direction of the street Förster-Funke-Allee.

Witnesses described one of the men as follows: about 25 years old, stocky, blue vest, green striped face mask, light blue baseball cap, spoke broken German. According to the witness, the man was of “Arabic phenotype”, according to the police. Information can be obtained by calling 0331 5508 0.

German Jew sues Berlin to stop antisemitic Quds Day rally

After the city-state of Berlin declined to take action against an annual Iranian-regime sponsored protest calling for the destruction of Israel, German Jewish retiree Gilbert Kallenborn filed a lawsuit to stop the rally. The Berlin-based B.Z. paper reported on Monday that the 66-year-old Kallenborn seeks to prevent the mid-May Al-Quds rally from taking place in the heart of Berlin’s shopping district. “The destruction of the Jewish state of Israel  is called for there,” said Kallenborn.

According to B.Z., the authorities are examining legal measures and have not issued a decision. When asked if the city of Berlin plans to ban the Quds Day rally, Martin Pallgen, a state interior ministry spokesman, told The Jerusalem Post: “This year’s Al-Quds assembly was not ‘approved’ by the State of Berlin. According to the Assembly Act, based on Article 8 of the Basic Law, demonstrations do not have to be requested, but only registered. The Al-Quds demonstration was already registered in July 2019 for May 16, 2020.”Pallgen added that “The possibilities under the right of assembly to impose or prohibit an assembly remain unaffected.”He said Berlin is “currently reviewing what legal measures are considered in relation to the Al-Quds assembly. In view of the current developments in the corona pandemic, no final decision has yet been made.”Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, launched Quds Day in 1979, calling for the destruction of Israel. Al-Quds is the Arabic word for Jerusalem. The Berlin Quds Day demonstration has been held each year since 1996.

The Quds Day rally attracts members of the terrorist organizations Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Neo-Nazis have also participated in the demonstration, where salutes to Hitler have been documented, according to the B.Z.Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, told the Post in February: “Berlin leaders should spare us crocodile tears when [a] spate of anti-Jewish attacks continue. They accurately tally antisemitic incidents while abetting Jew-hatred and Holocaust deniers. Despicable. Mocks the dead and endangers living Jews.”Berlin Mayor Michael Müller has claimed that legal action to stop the Quds Day demonstration would not meet the court’s criteria for a ban. There are doubts as to whether Müller’s contention is true because the law has not been tested.Berlin’s interior senator Andreas Geisel has said in the past: “I do not want such antisemitic events to take place in Berlin. We are therefore exhausting all possibilities under the rule of law to make something like this impossible in our city.” Geisel, however, declined to test the law to ban the antisemitic rally.Dr. Elio Adler, chairman of the German-Jewish organization Values Initiative, told the Berlin paper: “If the antisemites use the loopholes of the rule of law without being disturbed, then we have to clarify, in the same detail, how they can be stopped in the future.”US officials, including Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, who is also the ambassador to Germany, have urged Chancellor Angela Merkel’s administration to ban the entire terrorist entity Hezbollah, a main force behind Quds Day in the federal republic.Merkel and Interior Minister Horst Seehofer from her Christian Union Party have opted to not crackdown on Hezbollah, to the frustration of German Jews and counter terrorism experts.German intelligence agencies have said there are 1,050 Hezbollah operatives in Germany. The Hezbollah members and supporters raise funds for Hezbollah in Lebanon and recruit new members. The Quds Day demonstration is supported by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Last May, Germany’s Bundestag defined BDS as antisemitic.

Despite Corona: special permit for pro refugee rally in Hamburg, Germany

While political assemblies are banned nationwide and – as recently in Berlin – are stopped by the police if they are not permitted, special rights apply to those in favour of migration. For example, the Hamburg “Seebrücke” is allowed to hold a public “vigil” on Sunday in the St. Pauli district of the city with the aim that people from the Aegean islands who are seeking asylum will be allowed to come to Hamburg. No less than 20 (!) locations between Fischmarkt and St. Pauli were approved, each with up to 25 participants. With this series of meetings, the organiser Christoph Kleine wants to influence the red-green coalition negotiations in the Hanseatic city: “The Seebrücke demands that the new red-green senate establish a state reception programme for at least 1000 people from Moria or the other camps – regardless of age or gender. Hamburg had enough space and resources to take in further “refugees”: “There must be an end to hiding behind the inactivity of Horst Seehofer. The rally is explicitly not directed against the government’s corona rules: “On the contrary, we want all people to live in circumstances where they can keep their distance and obey the hygienic regulations. In fact, pro-migration activists have no reason to be dissatisfied with the existing restrictions, as long as they only affect all other political opponents but not any of the do-gooders who demonstrate for issues that are to the liking of the political class and the mass media.

French consumers face a flour shortage… thanks to Germany

France, the European leader in wheat, has given Germany the keys to supplying its packaging for flour. It is paying a high price today. Germany is a world leader in adaptable packaging and almost the sole supplier of flour packaging to its neighbour.

At the start of confinement, there was a pasta, sugar and flour rush. This unique environment was an opportunity for the French to revisit the kitchen by increasing the production of homemade bread and cakes. But quickly, the reality became apparent: in mass distribution, for lack of replenishment, there is almost no more flour. In about a third of supermarkets, the shelves are empty.

“Throughout France, flour sales to individuals have doubled in the past five weeks; millers are working like crazy,” says Jean-François Loiseau, president of the Meunerie de France and of the Axéréal cooperative.

To meet the high demand, millers are adapting their activity while their bakery outlets have collapsed.

France has a large supply of wheat. However, for the past few weeks, it has been an obstacle course to find flour in mass distribution outlets. The SARS-CoV-2 containment rules have resulted in sales of 1 kg bags doubling compared to last year.

Artisanal bakeries have recorded sharp drops linked to the change in consumer habits. On this circuit, flour sales collapsed by 50 percent in the first week of confinement, with disparities in town and in the countryside, where the artisan remains more accessible.

To meet changing demands, flour mills are therefore forced to adapt. Grands Moulins de Paris has launched La Boulangine, a one-kilo sachet of flour that bakers can market to consumers who no longer find it in supermarkets.

The Planchot flour mill has launched new packaging of 10 kg on conventional and organic T65 flours for its regular customers.

For its part, the Bellot flour mill closed its online sales service, saturated with calls from consumers in a few days. The company preferred to supply its historical customers. Its sales in supermarkets have multiplied by 20.

Very much in demand by major brands, the miller is limited in its production by the lack of empty bags of 1 kg. “In four weeks, I liquidated my stock planned for six months! The suppliers of this packaging in Europe can be counted on the fingers of one hand. They too, their activity is slowed down when they always receive more requests! The deadlines therefore go from a few weeks to a few months,” a manager explained.

In the event of packaging running out, its teams would find themselves at a standstill. He is therefore looking for new suppliers and in the meantime, markets 25 kg bags to supermarkets. He testified: “When their shelves were empty and they couldn’t wait, I offered them these packages. They tried and in a few days, they sold 1.5 tonnes of flour.”

The flour mills in France are still figuring out the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic but they hope not to be the only ones paying the bills.
