It’s Wednesday evening, shortly after 8 pm: a fierce argument breaks out on the suburban train S3 from Basel to Olten. According to the Baselbieter police, the two people have only verbally argued the dispute at first.

However, as time goes by, the dispute becomes more and more intense. The skirmish escalates shortly at the Frenkendorf stop. Suddenly one of the opponents pulls out a knife and stabs the victim several times.

When the suburban train stops in Frenkendorf, the perpetrator flees with a buddy in an unknown direction. The severely injured victim remains on the train until Liestal. There he is supported by other passengers until the ambulance arrives. The man had to be taken to hospital with several stab wounds.

The suspected perpetrator, a 21-year-old Somali, as well as his 18-year-old buddy from Ethiopia, were caught near the Frenkendorf train station. Criminal proceedings have been initiated by the responsible authorities.

Two migrants of unknown origin entered the St. Alexander Nevsky church in the Serbian capital Belgrade on Sunday and then robbed several attendants of the liturgy of their money and mobile phones. Those attending the church service managed to catch one of the thieves and hand him over to police to the scene, but the other got away.

“There were two of them, they broke into the church during the liturgy, which was in progress, and they stole two purses, and three mobile phones,” Vajo Jović, the elder of the Serbian Orthodox Church, told Serbian news site nova.rs.

“Upon entering the temple, they split up on two sides, and the people, seeing what was happening, managed to catch one of them and take away his mobile phones and the money he stole. The other managed to escape, he took two purses, in one there were 3,500 dinars, while in the other there were 18,000, which was the entire pension of one woman,” Jović said.

Jović expressed outrage over a robbery that occurred in a house of worship.

“We handed that young man over to the police, while the other managed to escape,” Jović said. “This is an insult. Isn’t anything sacred to people,, such as the liturgy? Terrible.”

In January this year, Greece relocated to the mainland several thousand migrants crammed on its Mediterranean Island near the Turkish coast. While the onset of the coronavirus pandemic has kept them in Greece, the country has reopened its asylum office in the second half of May, leading to an increase of the migrants seeking to reach Western Europe via the Balkans migration route.

Although there have been a number of attacks on churches by migrants in recent times, outright robberies of parishioners appears to be a new escalation.

According to the latest update of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), there are currently 8,052 migrants in Serbia, the majority of them in 19 refugee centers across the country. Their stated countries of origin are Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Iran, Morocco and Palestine. The Serbian government lifted all its coronavirus-related movement restrictions on May 14 and the migrants now have freedom of movement on the territory of the country.

In compliance with a recent verdict of the European Court of Justice, Hungary has closed both its transit zones at Röszke and Tompa on its border with Serbia and migrants can only apply for asylum at the Belgrade consulate.

Two men aged 33 and 34 years jointly hit a 23-year-old and his 18-year-old female companion at the Bad Cannstatt train station on Saturday evening at about 11:00 pm. According to the current state of investigation, the 33-year-old Iraqi and the 34-year-old Moroccan suspects got into an argument with the 23-year-old on platform 3 of the Cannstatt station, as one of the men had probably previously harassed the female companion of the later victim.When the 23-year-old wanted to stop this behaviour, one of the two perpetrators apparently punched him in the face several times with his fist. Afterwards, they are said to have pushed the young man several times, so that he almost fell against a suburban train that was departing at the same time.When the female companion tried to stop the alcoholized attackers, it is said that she too was hit in the face several times. One of the suspects apparently then took a key in his hand and attacked the victim again. When several previously uninvolved travelers finally separated the men, the 33-year-old fled, but was temporarily arrested by a patrol of the state police in the vicinity. Alarmed rescue teams treated the two victims on site as outpatients.The 23-year-old suffered minor injuries to his hand and face. His female companion felt severe pain in her jaw due to the incident. The men, who live in Stuttgart and in the Esslingen district, must now expect a criminal complaint on suspicion of dangerous bodily injury. The Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported on May 19, 2020 that “Germany and the Palestinian Authority (PA) released a joint statement expressing ‘grave concern’ over Israel’s declared intention to begin annexing parts of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley. The same German government has ignored Israel’s legal rights in Judea and Samaria and imposed Nazi-like sanctions on Israeli products from these Jewish communities.

Germany has been on the side of Israel’s enemies time and again. Germany was a partner in the 2015 flawed Iran nuclear deal, which Israel vehemently opposed, charging that it gave the radical Islamic Republic a clear path to a nuclear bomb. Germany has also been Iran’s major trading partner, and a leader in thwarting the U.S. imposed sanctions on the ayatollah’s dictatorship. The Iranian regime has repeatedly threatened to “wipe the Jewish state off the map.”

Germany is also opposed to the Trump administrations “deal of the century” Middle East peace plan, which Israel overwhelmingly supports. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, complained that the Trump plan required a “balanced approach.” He stated that, “Only a negotiated two-state solution acceptable to both sides can lead to a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.” In his apparent pro-Palestinian bias, Maas clearly ignored Mahmoud Abbas’ (Palestinian Authority President) repeated rejections of Israel’s peace proposals, including the 2008 generous peace offer by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and Prime Minister Netanyahu’s repeated invitations to Abbas to come to the negotiating table. Abbas also rejected the Trump peace plan even before it was presented.

Germans are guilty of perpetrating the greatest crime in history, the industrial liquidation of European Jewry, known as the Holocaust. Germany’s history, moreover, is replete with antisemitic violence against Jews. Whether during the crusades, or the ‘hep hep’ pogroms against the Jews throughout Germany in 1819, ostensibly aimed against Jewish emancipation. Germany has been, throughout history, a leading source of antisemitism and anti-Jewish racism. Today, with the memory of the Holocaust still fresh, German hostility to the Jewish state, although hidden from view, is alive and well in Germany’s Foreign Ministry, and it is reflected in its major policies.

The German Foreign Ministry is working behind the scenes to delegitimize Israel by funding Non-Governmental Agencies (NGO’s) that work openly do that job. At the same time, the German Foreign Ministry unknowingly or intentionally is damaging the relationship between Germany and Israel. All this is done while official Berlin is releasing declarations about Germany’s moral obligations to the Jewish state.

This dichotomy is perhaps a symptom of Germany’s latent antisemitism on one hand, and its efforts to re-brand itself as a new Germany, to redeem itself from its sordid past. German society has never truly confronted its antisemitism in the post war era. Contemporary Germans have a ready excuse that they have atoned for the Holocaust by restoring synagogues, (which they burned and destroyed in 1938 during the Kristallnacht pogroms) and built memorials for the dead Jews (that they are responsible for killing). Antisemitism is, however, pervasive throughout German society. For more than 20 years after WWII, about 100 former members of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi party held high ranking positions in the West German Justice Ministry.

A recent study which reviewed former Justice Ministry personnel files, showed that the prevalence of former Nazi officials in the Justice Ministry allowed them to shield one another from post-war justice. Some of these former Nazi officials took part in the murderous violence known as Kristallnacht. The presence of many Nazis in the post-war German administration created a sense of denial about Nazi crimes. For many Germans, the Nuremberg Trials were merely a kind of “victors justice,” and not Nazi Germany barbarism and genocide. Germans today, to repress their guilt for the Holocaust, are practicing what amounts to a “secondary antisemitism.” They resent living Jews for reminding them of their guilt. They have assumed the role of victim, with the Jews being their victimizer. Hilda Walter, a German Jewish journalist quipped that “It seems the Germans will never forgive us for Auschwitz.”

These days, while the German government expresses concern over growing antisemitism in Germany, it is funding antisemitic NGO’s. According to NGO-Monitor, “Officially, German funding is aimed at combatting poverty, securing food, establishing peace, democracy and human rights…However, German federal funding is allocated to, among others, organizations that promote anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions), lawfare campaigns, anti-Zionism, a one-state vision, antisemitism, and violence.”

The vehicle to disburse funding to Israel’s enemies is the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The BMZ is the primary federal authority managing German development policy. With a budget of 10.2 billion euros (2019), the BMZ provided the Palestinian territories with 85.7 million Euros in 2016. German government generosity includes the Applied Research Institute Jerusalem (ARIJ), a leading group engaged in political warfare against Israel. It is promoting BDS, and regularly levels false accusations of Israeli apartheid and racism, and support for a Palestinian “right of return,” which is inimical to a two-state solution. Miftah is another Palestinian organization funded by German government largesse. This group promotes resistance against Israel, which means terror attacks. It regularly accuses Israel of perpetrating “massacres,” cultural genocide, war crimes, and apartheid.

The German Foreign Ministry’s particularly harmful action has been the subversion of the Germany-Israel Friendship Association, which was formed in 1966 (a year after diplomatic relations were established between the two countries). The Association has 50 branches across Germany and between 5,000-6,000 members. The Association was, from the start, an a-political body supported by all German political parties, aimed to express their commitment to Israel. To expand its activities, the Association sought and received funding from the German government, and it has received 500,000 Euros annually, which is disbursed by the German Foreign Ministry.

The German government financial aid to the Association is not without a price. The Foreign Ministry used the aid to subjugate the Association to its policies, which often times contradicts Germany’s alleged commitment to Israel’s security. The same Foreign Ministry regularly votes against Israel in international bodies, including the UN.

The Association Board of Directors was ordered by the Foreign Ministry to immediately cease dealing with issues pertaining to UNWRA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency). Germany is the top donor to this agency specifically devoted to the Palestinians, and to no other refugees. UNRWA, as an organization, is committed to the destruction of the Jewish state by serving as an incubator for Palestinian terrorists. The Association was instructed to focus only on cultural activities affiliated with a particular political camp – the Israeli left.

In what amounts to a sharp blow to pro-Israel activities in Germany, the German Foreign Ministry announced that it is curtailing its financial support from a project used by the Association in conjunction with pro-Israel groups called “Days of Israel,” which are held around Israel’s Independence Day. “Days of Israel” activities take place in major German cities and towns. It includes speeches, performances, movies, and information booths that promote Israel. It is apparent that the biased German Foreign Ministry resents the pro-Israel message that the “Days of Israel” represents. They would rather have the Association present more “balanced” programs.

Young members of the Association on Study Tours to Israel were instructed by the German Foreign Ministry to avoid civic organizations associated with the political Right. They were especially warned not to meet with Jewish “settlers.” They were however, encouraged to meet with radical Leftist organizations.

It is becoming increasingly clear whose side Germany is on.

A previously classified German intelligence report on Wednesday revealed widespread Islamic-animated antisemitism among Muslim organizations in the federal republic, including defective statistics about the origin of crimes due to Jew-hatred.
The German paper Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) first reported on the document that is “a special file of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.” The federal office (BfV) is the rough equivalent to the Shin Bet and it noted in the file that a Syrian teacher declared on June 4, 2018 in the city of Solingen in the middle of his lesson that “all Jews belong in the gas chamber.”

The report said that on June 2, 2018, the recoding clerk for a branch of the German-Turkish radical Islamic association Furkan told his guests that with respect to the children of Israel, the Jews, “Don’t be like beings that are worth less than animals.” He added that the Jews were the cursed and that they betrayed Moses.Lethal antisemitism targeting Israel was also present in the report. An Imam who preached at a Turkish state-allied Millî-Görüş mosque in an unidentified German city on December 8, 2017 declared, “Free Palestine in no time,” adding the need to “Deliver the whole community of Muhammad from the evil sons of Israel.”According to the intelligence agency, there are already 700 cases listed in this “case collection of antisemitic events with a suspected Islamist background,” wrote SZ.The paper noted that the former interior minister Thomas de Maizière started to chronicle Jew-hatred among Muslims in 2015, including the arrival of Muslim refugees and migrants. The SZ, which titled its article “Hatred of Jews in the Friday Sermon,” reported that “Domestic intelligence eavesdroppers were present on both occasions” at the radical Islamic Turkish meetings.

The intelligence report noted a case of another Syrian person who said in a German city on April 26, 2018 that Israelis murder babies in Palestine and Jews deserve to be beaten. Neither the city nor the Syrian were identified.The names of the antisemites were not disclosed in the SZ report.Thomas Haldenwang, president of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency BfV, told the SZ that antisemitism is part of the basic equipment of Islamist ideologies. Hostility to Jews is “represented by practically all noteworthy Islamist organizations that are active in Germany,” whether it be Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Millî-Görüş, Hezbollah or the Islamic State.The SZ reported that approximately 20 antisemitic acts of violence by Muslim perpetrators were documented in this case collection. The paper added that there were roughly 80 antisemitic statements in the private sphere, and around 350 statements on social media.According to the paper, “The police do not count crimes committed by Muslim antisemites in a reliable manner at all.”A distorted statistical picture emerges, noted the SZ, because when there are doubts, everything is lumped into the “right-wing extremist” category by the Federal Criminal Police Office, which compiles the annual crime statistics.The SZ wrote that “All official statistics, according to which 70, 80 or 90 percent of all antisemitic attacks in Germany are carried out by right-wing radicals, should therefore be read with great skepticism.”Last week, Charlotte Knobloch, the president of the Munich Jewish community told The Jerusalem Post that three German MPs should resign from the German-Palestinian Society becasue the organization supports the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions campaign against Israel. The German Bundestag classified BDS as antisemitic last year. The three MPs are the Social Democrat Aydan Özogus, the  Green party’s Omid Nouripour, and the Left party’s Christine Buchholz. BDS , according to its critics, seeks the abolition of the Jewish state.

A Morning Consult poll taken May31-June 1, found that 58 percent of Americans support using the military to help local police in tamping down the violence in cities. Just 30 percent oppose using the troops.

That’s a pretty healthy majority. Support for using the military as an adjunct to the police is about as partisan as any other issue.

Furthermore, 33 percent (one-third) of respondents said they “strongly” support sending in the military, while an additional 25 percent (one-quarter) said they “somewhat” support the move. Only 19 percent of voters “strongly” opposed deploying the military, while 11 percent “somewhat” opposed it. The survey’s margin of error was plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Republicans were more likely to support the proposal, with 77 percent in favor of sending in military troops. Among Democrats, 48 percent said they’d support deploying troops to cities rocked by protests. And 52 percent of independents also backed such action.

Even a healthy percentage of liberals support using the troops.

The proposition was more popular among older voters, whites and conservatives, with 75% of self-identified conservatives, 68% of voters over the age of 65 and 60% of white voters saying they’d either strongly support or somewhat support sending in the military.

But the poll showed a large chunk of voters usually associated with the Democratic Party also are open to deploying troops, with 43% of voters under 34, 40% of self-identified “liberals” and 37% of African-Americans saying they’d support sending in the military to help police.

Trump has gotten a lot of heat for saying that if governors and mayors can’t restore order he would send in the troops. And this Reuters poll would seem to confirm that the people don’t like the way he’s handling the crisis.

The survey conducted on Monday and Tuesday found 64% of American adults were “sympathetic to people who are out protesting right now,” while 27% said they were not and 9% were unsure.

The poll underscored the political risks for Trump, who has adopted a hardline approach to the protests and threatened to deploy the U.S. military to quell violent dissent. The Republican president faces Democrat Joe Biden in November’s election.

More than 55% of Americans said they disapproved of Trump’s handling of the protests, including 40% who “strongly” disapproved, while just one-third said they approved – lower than his overall job approval of 39%, the poll showed.

Trump’s “handling” of the protests includes a lot of jawboning but not much action. Indeed, there’s not much he can do as president except urge mayors and governors to do their job.

But when specifics are added to the equation, people instinctively side with the president wanting to bring order to the chaos.

How this plays out politically will be interesting to see. Do people want someone being portrayed as strong and decisive? Or do they want a president portrayed as “feeling your pain”? It may end up being the question that decides the election.

In a burning apartment in Lennestadt ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) the fire brigade found a dead boy (3) in early May. The father (33) was soon suspected of having killed his son. Investigators are now assuming that the murder was insidious.

According to current findings, the father is said to have choked or strangled the child, said Rainer Hoppmann of the Siegen public prosecutor’s office on Wednesday. It was unclear whether these injuries had already been fatal. The newspaper “Westfalenpost” had reported earlier.

He is said to have laid the severely injured child on a mattress in a storage room and set the mattress on fire. He had presumably used accelerants in the process. Investigators do not assume that the child was still conscious.

The child’s father and mother had separated more than a year ago, Hoppmann said. Since then, with the mother’s consent, the infant had already made several short visits to the Moroccan-born man.

After he had started the fire in his apartment, he had jumped out of the window – presumably to kill himself. Dangerously injured, emergency services found him outside the house. The man is reportedly still in the prison hospital.

A number of racist remarks directed at white people have emerged from videos filmed during the George Floyd riots that have erupted across the United States, raising concerns that whites may be a target of a minority of protestors.

The racist remarks are only a fraction of the controversial news that has arisen during riots that have led to nearly 10,000 arrests, rioting in 130 U.S. cities, and police attacked and even murdered, but they underline the racial discord present in the U.S.

One video uploaded to Twitter by independent journalists captures the audio of someone shouting, “Shoot the white folks“ during riots in Minneapolis and many other cities continue.

The video shows a group of men driving in a car as fires surrounded them in Minneapolis.

In another video, a group of young Hispanic men are interviewed in the midst of the riots in Minneapolis. One responds, “F**k the police, we f**kin’ Mexican as f**k.

Another protestor then says, “F**k white people bro, they bad as f**k, bro.”

Following riots that first broke in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd after Officer Derek Chauvin pinned Floyd’s neck down with his knee, rioters first struck predominately poorer black neighborhoods in Minneapolis, but quickly spread to wealthier neighborhoods and multiple cities across the country.

Protests in New York saw Macy’s 5th Avenue Flagship store looted along with Nike shops, Aldo, and many others.

In Buffalo, New York, two police officers were struck by an SUV, with video showing the vehicle slamming officers while they were in the process of tackling and handcuffing a suspect. Another NYPD sergeant was also run over by a vehicle in the Bronx after he responded to mass looting taking place. He is in serious but stable condition. Footage of the attack was released by the NYPD in the hope that suspects could be apprehended.

George Floyd-related riots also took place in Philadelphia, where apocalyptic scenes were recorded during daylight hours showing mass looting take place in multiple locations in downtown Philadelphia, including an Apple Store, Wells Fargo, Vans, and Urban Outfitters.

In footage that was seen over 34 million times, a white man in Dallas was brutally attacked by a majority black crowd of youths, with one throwing a large stone at the man’s head. He is currently in critical care and was reportedly defending his business with a sword when he was attacked.

In Atlanta, Georgia, mass looting took place across the city. Footage from the high-end Phipps Plaza saw looters breaking into Gucci and others stores and stealing goods.

In Portland, Oregon, independent journalist Andy Ngo has also documented riots in the city, including a Chase Bank being lit on fire.

Ngo also posted brutal attack on a man in a wheelchair during protests in downtown Portland.

Other video demonstrates that even those who support protests have become targets of rioters. In the video, a man gives a thumbs up to the protesters and then expresses shock when they throw a brick through his window moments later. The occupants of the home scream, “We’re on your side,” to the protesters on the street who then respond by hurling another brick through their window.

President Donald Trump recently summoned the National Guard and called on the governors to take a tougher approach towards the demonstrators in order to take back control.
