A 16-year-old Somali citizen was caught yesterday afternoon using an intercity train from Frankfurt-on-Main to Erfurt without a valid ticket.
During the check, he refused to buy a ticket and coughed aggressively several times in the face of the train attendant. Shortly afterwards he fled into another carriage.
The train attendant locked the doors of the empty wagon and informed the federal police by telephone of the incident. In the further course of the incident the Somali damaged several windows of the train. At the train’s stop in Eisenach, state police initially took the 16-year-old into custody and subsequently handed him over to a patrol of the Federal Police, which also came to the spot. An emergency doctor was able to determine that the Somali was not infected with the corona virus. When his personal details were checked, it emerged that the Somali was wanted because he had left a dormitory in Neustadt-Klewe. The officers took the young man to the Erfurt police station and initiated criminal proceedings for bodily harm, property damage and fare evasion. After the police measures were completed, the officers handed the 16-year-old over to the Youth Welfare Office.
