Germany: Weapon and ammunition found in shelter for asylum seekers – owner at large again

The accidental observations of a policeman not on duty last night caused a police operation in the Berlin district of Kaulsdorf. Around 6 p.m., the police officer spotted behind the window in an illuminated room of a refugee shelter in Brodauer Street a man posing with a assault rifle and another man who is said to have taken pictures of it.Alarmed forces of a police task force secured the area. After locating the room, a judicial search warrant was obtained. Forces of a special task force opened the room door by force and checked the men present in the room, 27 and 29 years old.The rifle was a soft-air weapon that was confiscated along with the ammunition. The two men were investigated on suspicion of violation of the weapons law. They were released after the on-site police measures.
