On the last Monday evening around 11:15 p.m. at the main railway station in Ulm there was a physical argument to the detriment of an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman. According to current information, the man and his teenage companion were initially on platform 4 of Ulm Central Station when a group of about seven male persons approached them and apparently struck the 18-year-old man abruptly and threw him to the ground. The 17-year-old companion is said to have lay down protectively over the man lying on the ground, so that she, too, was subsequently apparently beaten and kicked jointly by the suspected perpetrators.According to the current status of investigations, the perpetrator group then fled over the Schillersteg bridge in an unknown direction. Alarmed paramedics took both persons to a hospital. Any injuries to the 18-year-old man are currently unknown. The young woman suffered a concussion due to the incident and had to be treated in hospital. Initial evidence suggests that one of the suspects is a 16-year-old Turkish national. Further persons from the perpetrator group are already partly known by name. The Federal Police has initiated an investigation into the incident on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. In particular, the motive and the course of events are currently the subject of these investigations.
