Last Monday evening, a hitherto unknown perpetrator groped a 21-year-old woman from the Schwalm-Eder district in the street  Mittelgasse in Kassel. The victim was able to defend herself against the man and escaped. The Kassel police are now investigating a sexual offence and searching for the perpetrator. The investigators of the responsible commissioner’s office are also asking for information from the population. The perpetrator is said to be about 1.85 to 1.90 meters tall and strong, have a dark beard and Arab appearance, and wear a dark sweater with a light-colored inscription. As the 21-year-old woman reported in her interrogation to the police officers who filed the complaint, the incident occurred around 9:30 pm. She had been walking to her car in the street Mittelgasse, between St. Martin’s Church and Entenanger, when suddenly a man came out of one of the courtyards. The unknown man had tried to drag her into the courtyard and groped her upper body. But because of her resistance the man let her go again. She then fled to her car and drove away standing under the shock of the experience. Later in the evening she filed a complaint with the police. Where the perpetrator fled to is currently unknown. Now the investigators of the police department K 12 ask witnesses, who observed suspicious persons in the area of the Mittelgasse at the time of the crime and who can give clues to the perpetrator, to report to the Kassel police by calling 0561 – 9100.
