Following the machete attack on a 19-year-old Moroccan in Innsbruck, a suspect was arrested on Thursday. After further investigations, the 31-year-old compatriot was questioned on Friday, according to the police. He did not confess to the facts he had been accused of and was temporarily taken to the police detention centre in Innsbruck. After further necessary investigations have been carried out, the public prosecutor’s office in Innsbruck will decide on the further arrest of the suspect.At Landhausplatz square in Innsbruck there was an attack with a machete shortly after 06.: 00 p.m. on Wednesday. According to police, a 19-year-old Moroccan was seriously injured. Witnesses report that the perpetrator had tried 6 to 7 times to attack the victim with a machete both on his thigh and face.
