According to the police, a 19-year-old Moroccan was seriously injured and a group of four men was present at the Landhausplatz square when a male came running in and probably attacked the 19-year-old with a machete without any reason. The witnesses reported that the perpetrator had tried 6 to 7 times to attack the victim with the machete both on his thigh and face.According to initial information from the Innsbruck Hospital, the victim was seriously but not fatally injured by the incident. The man suffered two deep cuts on both thighs and had to be treated surgically at the Innsbruck Hospital. The investigations and witness interviews led to a possible suspect, a 31-year-old Moroccan citizen.
