A 38-year-old asylum seeker caused a stir yesterday morning because he exposed a tattooed swastika. The public prosecutor’s office made a request for arrest. Around 9:15 a.m., witnesses reported a man standing on a balcony in the administration wing of a shared accommodation for asylum seekers in Beuthener Street in Nuremberg wearing a visibly tattooed swastika. The tattoo had already been seen by several people. Officials of the alarmed police station Nuremberg-Süd arrested the 38-year-old resident of the municipal accommodation and initiated an investigation on suspicion of the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations. At the request of the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor’s office, the 38-year-old asylum seeker is brought before the investigating judge, who decides on the question of detention.
