Children’s football tournament in Solingen, Germany: Probably North African or Turk stabs father of player

At a football tournament for children’s teams at the sports complex Graefrat at the street  Flockertsholzer Weg the afternoon before yesterday, several parents got into a heated dispute.Around 2.15 p.m. some fathers were in such a rage that a verbal argument turned into a bodily confrontation. In the course of this, a 45-year-old man from Wuppertal allegedly slightly injured a 47-year-old Wuppertal man with a knife. An ambulance brought the injured man to a clinic, which he was able to leave shortly after outpatient treatment. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the dispute are continuing.

This is what the police reported in a politically correct manner.

The Turkish newspaper Hürriyet reports about this in more detail:

Afterwards he was asked by parents of SV Heckinghausen to moderate a bit, because there were children on the field. The father in question, who had a Mediterranean appearance, was said to have attacked the parents, who intervened and insulted them. This was partly in German and partly in a language that the audience at the soccer club SV Heckinghausen, which has been a role model for integrative, multicultural football in Wuppertal for many years, did not understand. According to the speculations, the attacker was a man who could possibly have come from the “North African or South Eastern European area. This verbal confrontation became bodily because even the Heckinghausen fathers did not put up with being insulted like this for no reason. However, a rather harmless pushing became serious and the father in question pulled a knife according to the observations of coach Okan Karasu. He then immediately took the children of both teams off the pitch and led them towards the cabin so that they would not continue to witness this incident. A father of the team from Heckinghausen with Moroccan roots was attacked and slightly injured with the knife.
