Germany: Two Turks arrested for homicide

In the late Thursday evening (Ascension Day May 30, 2019) around 11.10 p.m. a male body was found on Bünder Street shortly before the intersection Löhner Street in Hiddenhausen. The body was injured, which led to the suspicion of a homicide. The dead man is a 31-year-old man from Herford. Around 11:10 p.m. an emergency call was received by the district fire station. A passerby reported a person with severe injuries at the crossroads Bünder Street/Löhner Street. An emergency doctor then diagnosed the death of the 31-year-old German-Lebanese. The investigation revealed a suspicion against a 30-year-old Turkish citizen residing in Herford. He was temporarily arrested and on the 1 st of June 2019, he was transferred to the responsible magistrate at the district court of Bielefeld at the request of the public prosecutor’s office in Bielefeld. The judge issued a pre-trial detention order for murder against the accused. The 30-year-old is in custody. The investigations are continuing. In the course of the investigations of the Homicide Commission, another suspicion arose against a 32-year-old second German-Turkish citizen from Herford.The 32-year-old, who is a family member of the already detained person, was provisionally arrested on Thursday, June 6, 2019 and, at the request of the Bielefeld public prosecutor’s office, was transferred to the responsible judge at the Bielefeld district court on Friday, June 7, 2019. The judge issued a pre-trial detention order against him for murder. The 32-year-old is in custody. The investigations are ongoing.
