Yesterday, Sunday morning, a man grabbed a traveler’s chest and buttocks. The 34-year-old chased the woman through the Cologne train station. The alarmed federal police arrested the suspect. Around 03:30 a.m., the federal police were alerted because a traveller was sexually harassed by an unknown person at Cologne Central Station. The woman was sitting on a bench in front of a bakery. Suddenly a man grabbed her breast and buttocks. The woman from Switzerland struck the man’s hands and went into the station. He also pursued the 21-year-old Swiss woman in the station. Finally, she called for help from the federal police, who arrested the 34-year-old African man.During his interrogation, he stated that he wanted to make the woman feel better because she looked sad. The man from Niger remained arrested and is being brought before the magistrate today. The Federal Police initiated an investigation into sexual harassment.
