Last Saturday at 9:15 p.m. several police patrols were ordered to an apartment in Linz district Neue Heimat, because there a father of a family is said to have threatened his family with extermination. When the police officers arrived, the suspect, a 37-year-old Turk, was no longer present in the apartment. The victim, the 33-year-old wife of the suspect, was very disturbed and stated that she and the four children, aged three to twelve, were seriously threatened by their husband in the morning. On the basis of this statement and previous incidents, which had already threatened the victim several times by the 37-year-old, she decided to move with the children temporarily to her 35-year-old brother and his wife.After she did not return home despite being asked to, the 37-year-old went to the apartment of his 35-year-old brother-in-law. He rang the bell and after kicking the apartment door several times, the 35-year-old opened.The 37-year-old then forced his way into the apartment and tried to get his wife out of the apartment by force. After she defended herself, he threatened her again with killing her. Then he left the apartment. During this incident, the four children and the brother-in-law’s children were present.On the basis of the facts described, as well as previous statements made by the perpetrator, the officers issued a prohibition from entering the premises against the Turk. After the interrogation of all parties involved, further criminal offences (trespass and continued use of force) could be brought against the accused. By order of the public prosecutor’s office in Linz, the 37-year-old will be committed to the Linz prison on the 13th of May 2019.
