When he noticed how a stranger had massively insulted two women in the Dominikaner street in Bamberg around 2 a.m. on Saturday night, the 29-year-old man intervened. He addressed the stranger about his behavior, whereupon the stranger immediately beat him. According to police reports, he finally got into a wrangling. Even when the 29-year-old was already on the ground, the man stepped on the 29-year-old’s head several times.He then escaped on foot in the direction of the “Lower Bridge”. The young man suffered bruises on his head as a result of the blows and kicks and had to be taken to a hospital for inpatient treatment. The police immediately started a search for the previously unknown perpetrator – but without success. Therefore, the police now ask the public for information.The suspect is said to have been about 20 years old and had dark hair that was short at the side and gelled backwards at the top. He had a southern appearance and, according to the police, may be of Turkish descent. At the time of the crime he was wearing a red T-shirt, a dark jacket and dark tight trousers.The Bamberg criminal investigation department has initiated investigations into an attempted homicide.
