On Friday evening, a man raped a woman near Eisenhüttenstadt station. The perpetrator was arrested and is already in custody, reports the newspaper Nordkurier. The police reported that the 33-year-old, coming from the train station, was on her way along the tracks. The man in the white T-shirt met her and first asked in English for a train to Berlin. Suddenly he is said to have pushed her to the ground, threatened and raped her. The woman then fled to a nearby bar. There they offered her help and called the police. “Due to a good description the perpetrator could be arrested at the station”, said a police spokeswoman. The police questioned the 31-year-old Sudanese. The local court Fürstenwalde announced an arrest warrant on Saturday. The perpetrator is now in a correctional facility.
