A 37-year-old man apparently wanted to throw his 24-year-old partner and his seven-year-old daughter out of the window of the attic apartment in Maulbronn around noon on Saturday. The Syrian suspect was brought before the magistrate on Sunday at the request of the public prosecutor’s office in Pforzheim and was remanded in custody. According to previous investigations by the criminal investigation department, there had been disputes between the two partners on Saturday around 11.45 a.m. – as had apparently happened several times before. In this recent argument, the 37-year-old had hit his wife and tried to push her out of the window. When the 7-year-old daughter interfered, he lifted the child up and tried to throw it out of the roof window of the two-storey house. However, according to the investigation, the mother intervened and was able to prevent worse. Finally, additional police officers of the Mühlacker police station were able to temporarily arrest the very violently and also unsympathetic man, who lives with his family in an asylum accommodation there. During the arrest, he also threatened and insulted the officers. Further investigations by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Pforzheim Criminal Investigation Department on suspicion of an attempted double homicide are currently ongoing.
