A civilian police patrol first noticed two Porsche cars and an Audi R8 car near Ratigen-East on the Highway 3, which swung back and forth with hazard lights on all lanes, slowing down the traffic behind them and then stopping (photos above). The police patrol was then able to witness a Ford Mustang changing to the side lane and overtaking the vehicles standing on the lane (including the Audi R8 with a bouquet of flowers and the Daimler E 350) over the hard shoulder on the right and driving in front of it. Arriving at the stationary vehicles, the police officers could not believe what they saw: The driver of the Mustang let the tyres smoke in front of the stationary vehicles and probably wanted to drift over the “closed” roadway. In the Mustang Cabrio a man stood and made photos of the scene. From the other waiting vehicles passengers got out to make photos.When the Turkish wedding party noticed the police officers, the participants drove on. Two of the luxury cars were stopped shortly afterwards. Here one of the “blockers” expressed one would not have to worry, “he knows a good lawyer”. All drivers denied to have done something wrong or said to have already phoned their lawyers.The police are now investigating on suspicion of duress and traffic hazard and ask road users who witnessed the incident on Friday (22nd of March) around 5 p.m. to call 0211-8700.
