The Criminal Investigation Department 12 of the Düsseldorf police is looking for witnesses of an incident that took place on Friday afternoon in the Bilk district. An eleven-year-old girl was slightly injured. According to the current state of investigation, the child had unlocked the front door of the apartment building on Elisabeth street on Friday afternoon at about 3 p.m. and walked into the hallway. Before the door closed, an unknown man could follow her into the hallway. He immediately attacked the girl, held her and pushed her towards the basement. It was only through her fierce resistance (screaming, kicking, punching) that the eleven-year-old could finally escape. The child ran to a neighbouring apartment. Meanwhile, the perpetrator fled the house in the direction of Kirch square.During the attack, the girl suffered minor injuries. After the mother alerted the police, an immediate search was started for the fugitive. So far, the search has been unsuccessful. The eleven-year-old could be heard late Friday afternoon in the presence of her mother. According to the current state of knowledge, the detectives assess the crime as attempted sexual abuse. The further investigations, including the examination whether there is a connection with two other offences (end of January ) as well as the search for the perpetrator continue.
Description of the offender:
About 20 years old, Asian appearance, short black hair, light skin. At the time of the crime the man was dressed in blue jeans and a sweater.
