Majority of Germans Fear Taking Migrants from Greece Will Trigger New Migrant Wave

A majority of Germans have expressed concern that the German government taking in large numbers of migrants from Greece after the Moria migrant camp fire could trigger a new wave of migration.

The German government, under Chancellor Angela Merkel, pledged to take in 1,500 migrants following the Moria fire, seemingly started by migrant arsonists, that left around 13,000 of them homeless on the island of Lesbos.

According to a poll released this week by German broadcaster ZDF, 62 per cent of Germans think that if the government takes a large portion of migrants from Moria it could lead to a significant wave of mass migration into Europe.

Across the political spectrum, only a majority of supporters of the far-left Green party did not believe that letting in migrants from Moria would trigger a large movement of migrants to Europe.

Germans are largely split on whether or not the country should take in a large proportion of migrants from Moria, with 43 per cent saying Germany should take in the migrants and 46 per cent saying Germany should only take them if other EU countries also take a share.

The Moria migrant camp fire has been attributed to arson by the Greek authorities, motivated by the fact there the Moria camp was placed under coronavirus lockdown measures.

Five migrants, all Afghans and two of them supposedly underage, were later arrested in connection with the fire. Greek media also published video footage allegedly showing migrants lighting and spreading fires at the camp as well.

The polling does not appear to explore whether or not taking in migrants from Greece as a result of the fire might encourage more acts of arson in other camps.

Italy: “The priest died like a dog, that was right,” declared Tunisian migrant Mahmoudi Ridha after he stabbed priest to death

“The priest died like a dog, that was right,” declared Tunisian migrant Mahmoudi Ridha after he repeatedly stabbed 51-year-old priest Roberto Malgesini in Como, northern Italy. He showed absolutely no regret for his terrible deed.

The illegal immigrant was one of the many who had benefitted from Malgesini’s generosity. The priest had been handing out meals to migrants in the city center when Ridha attacked him, stabbing him several times.

The assailant had no history of mental illness, and police tests revealed no “certified psychological problems”. Despite this, the diocese of Como, the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI), Caritas, and Italy’s mainstream media unanimously diagnosed the killer as “mentally ill”.

Roberto Bernasconi, president of the Como section of pro-migrant charity Caritas, blamed the murder on the anti-migrant “climate of hatred and intolerance that is fomented in the city”.

The pro-migrant priest made headlines last year after the Como municipality fined him for supporting migrant squatters that had taken over in the St. Francis church.

The murderer, from Tunisia, has repeatedly violated immigration law and has been imprisoned on several occasions. Facing yet another deportation order, the illegal migrant lodged an appeal that was to be heard on the day of the murder.

The prosecutor’s office said the motive was linked to the fear of repatriation. “Malgesini was convinced that a plot was underway to repatriate him to Tunisia and that the priest was involved in that plot.”

Berlin Senate to introduce a law that only left-wing extremists and Islamists will have the right to rally

The Red-Red-Green government coalition in Berlin has presented a draft law which, among other things, should facilitate a ban on “racist” demonstrations. Islamists or left-wing radicals, however, are not affected by this “freedom of assembly” law.

According to the newspaper Welt, a rally can be quickly banned if it is considered to be ” suitable or intended to encourage a readiness to use violence”, “in its overall character, it is linked to the rites and symbols of National Socialist tyranny” and thus “has an intimidating effect or offends in a significant way against the moral sensibilities of citizens and fundamental social or ethical views”.They refer to the anti-sedition laws of the penal code – as well as to a Karlsruhe judgement of 2004, but it almost seems as if Red-Red-Green had not read this judgement too closely. Because: At that time it was decided that an NPD demonstration may not be forbidden simply because the expressed opinions contradict dominant social or ethical views. In a democracy, who should also determine what “fundamental social and ethical views” should be? The fact that leftists always and everywhere suspect hate crimes should have been known for a long time – one recalls the politically incorrect “blackfacing” at the nativity play or terrified renaming of pharmacies, food sauces and snacks. As soon as a government determines for which issues it is allowed to demonstrate and for which not, there can be no more talk of democracy. Already the attempt to ban the large-scale rally against the Corona measures in Berlin showed that all means are justified to suppress unwelcome opinions and critical voices.

Germany: 200 police officers guard the funeral of a mother of a notorious Arab clan boss

This was no normal funeral! According to a report in the tabloid BILD, about 700 guests attended the funeral of the mother of the notorious Abou Chaker Clan at the Cemetery of the Neue zwölf Apostel in Berlin district of Schöneberg on Friday morning. In addition, about 200 police officers secured the cemetery.

Their tasks: Monitoring compliance with the Corona rules and road safety.

In the morning everything was organized and went smoothly, said the spokeswoman. Speeches were made and prayers were recited. Arafat listened, looked exhausted and said goodbye to his mother with red eyes full of tears.

Around noon the first men left the funeral. Afterwards a second group, women, was to come to the funeral. At Islamic funerals, this takes place separately.

Visitors had to register their personal data at the entrance in a list, as is currently required for other private events.

The police made sure that there were no traffic jams of waiting people and let the visitors enter in groups, the spokeswoman said. Otherwise, people had to keep their spacings or wear a face mask. The cemetery also had masks available for this purpose.

Among the mourners in the morning was Issa Remmo, the head of another notorious Berlin clan, who appeared with his son at the funeral of Arafat Abou-Chaker’s mother at 11:20 a.m. An expression of respect among extended families. Arafat Abou-Chaker was also at the funeral of the Remmo mother in April this year.

She had also been buried at the Cemetery Neue-Zwölf-Apostel-Friedhof in Schöneberg. The police attended the funeral with a large-scale operation, loudspeaker announcements and a helicopter. At that time, even stricter regulations were in force to protect against infection.
