Germany: Migrants organize barbecues in public places despite the ban for Corona

Last Wednesday evening in Herten about 150 people, mostly with Turkish or Arabic migration background, met in individual groups for a barbecue on the premises of the former Schlegel und Eisen colliery.

They smoked water pipes and had a barbecue. Several residents complained about it. The mayor of Herten, Fred Toplak, went to the young people personally with the support of the public order office.

He urged them to follow the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute to go home and avoid social contacts. But that did not help.

Thereupon the police were requested to provide administrative assistance. The officers then gave orders to leave, so that the event was cancelled after 9 pm.
