Day after day the pure horror on Austria’s streets: A 16-year-old “Austrian with Turkish roots” waited for his ex-girlfriend in Vienna-Floridsdorf. He attacked her with his fists and with a knife. The young woman is now critically wounded in hospital. The bloody deed was committed on Thursday, when the 16-year-old was on her way home from school. The ex-boyfriend, who according to the newspaper Kronenzeitung is of Turkish origin, is said to have waited for her there and followed her home. He then beat and stabbed her blindly in her apartment. He allegedly inflicted a total of 30 stitches on his victim. Somehow the teenage girl managed to call for help herself. When the police arrived, she was still approachable for a short time and gave the name of the perpetrator. Then she had to be taken to the hospital by an ambulance. According to the police, her life is in danger. It is unfortunately not yet certain whether she will survive the terrible attack. The urgently suspected stabber was arrested in his apartment around 7 pm. He did not resist arrest. So far he denies the crime.
