In the late evening hours of the 25th of January 2020 (Saturday) a fire was discovered in the visitors’ toilet of the hospital at the street Bleichstraße 15 in Bochum, which the fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish. No persons were injured by the fire or the smoke emissions.

According to the current state of investigation, three young men entered the hospital via the main entrance at 10.35 pm and shortly afterwards went to the toilet room in the emergency room. While the trio – apparently Mediterraneans, who are between 19 and 25 years of age – were laughing loudly and quickly leaving the hospital through the exit to the street Große-Beck-Straße, the fire in the toilet was discovered at around 10:40 p.m. In the hospital, the three male persons were captured by a surveillance camera. By court order, the photos of the suspects were released for media publication. Witnesses who can provide information about the trio are asked to report to the Bochum fire commissioner’s office (KK 11) by calling 0234 / 909-4106 or to the criminal investigation department by calling 0234 / 909-4441.
