Ironically on the morning of Dec 24th, Fire Departments responded to a fire in the tower of the evangelist Church of Herzogenbuchsee in the canton of Bern, built in 1728. Even though the fire seemed under control by noon, it reignited and shortly before 11PM local time on Dec 24., the tower collapsed, setting fire to the church’s main body. Batteling the fire was difficult, since firefighters couldn’t enter the tower and there was not enough space to set up ladders properly. The fight still goes on at the moment.
