Dutch police said on Friday that three people had been wounded in a stabbing on a shopping street in The Hague.
First responders from the city’s emergency services unit rushed to the scene.
The incident reportedly occurred in a department store in the city’s main shopping street, Grote Marktstraat, which was busy with people looking for Black Friday deals.
Police are searching for a male perpetrator aged between 45 and 50 who was wearing a shawl and a grey tracksuit. The knife used by the attacker has reportedly been located.
The condition of those injured and the motive for the attack remain unclear. A spokesperson said it was not clear whether the stabbing was a terrorist incident.
The incident in The Hague came hours after two people were killed in a terrorist stabbing attack at London Bridge.
Officers who were called to the scene shot and killed the suspect at the scene. Londoners disarmed the knife-wielding attacker before police showed up.
Last year, two people were stabbed in the main railway station in Amsterdam in what local authorities said was a terrorist attack.
