On Sunday morning, around 09:00 a.m., an attempt was made to sexually assault a 76-year-old woman from Magdeburg.The 76 year old woman was in the vicinity of the the street Försterstraße in Magdeburg at the south cemetery when she met a male person. The male person offered to the woman assistance with the grave maintenance, which she rejected.This resulted in an attempted sexual assault. By the cries for help of the 76 year old a so far unknown witness came to her aid. Thus the unknown perpetrator left the woman from Magdeburg and fled.  The perpetrator was described as follows:

approx. 25-35 years old
North African phenotype
black hair; on the side short / main hair longer and smooth
dressed in a T-shirt, shorts and sneakers
carried a man’s bicycle with him

The person is said to have been in the area more than once.

The police are looking for the unknown witness and for other witnesses who can give information about the perpetrator and/or the crime. Informants are requested by calling 0391/546 3292 at the Magdeburg police station.
