On Monday, a 21-year-old Gambier smashed more than 20 cars at the train station in Lauffen. Refugees from the Lauffen accommodation for asylum seekers had already called the police on Sunday when the man was supposed to have announced his crime. The young man had apparently already started a riot in the accommodation on Sunday. He is said to have cut cables and destroyed telephones and bicycles. According to the reports, he stabbed the bicycle tires with a screwdriver. The police confirmed the damage of bicycles.Since Monday afternoon, the 21-year-old has been admitted to a clinic and the question of how to proceed is still open. If a stay in a clinic is not an option, a pre-trial detention could be possible – as there could be a risk of repetition. This will then be a matter for a district judge.
