Germany: Iraqi fare dodger threatens to cut off head of train attendant

Early last Sunday morning a “fare dodger” threatened RE 11 employees of the Abellio Railway with death. As it turned out later, the Iraqi citizen was in Germany without permission. Federal police arrested him. Around 05:00 a. m. the 22-year-old used the RE 11 from Essen to Dortmund. In the train, a 45-year-old Abellio employee checked the tickets. He found that the 22-year-old was not in possession of one. In order to be able to charge a fine, he asked the man to hand over an identity document. The man is said to have reacted immediately with verbal aggressiveness. The man rejected the offer to leave the train in Bochum. In addition, he is said to have threatened the employee with the words: “If you call the police, I will cut your head off.  I’ll find you. I’m going to kill you”. After the train arrived at Dortmund Central Station, the Federal Police investigated the Iraqi. It turned out that he was staying in Germany without permission. He was then taken to police custody. The Federal Police initiated criminal proceedings for fraudulent promotions, threats and illegal residence.
