Last Saturday, around 5.30 pm, an attempted homicide took place in the Marburg district of Cyriaxweimar. In the course of a family dispute, the 44-year-old Syrian husband stabbed the upper body of his 33-year-old wife several times with a knife in the bathroom of the common house in order to kill her. After the crime the perpetrator fled with the four common children (2 boys and 2 girls at the age of 5, 7, 10 and 13 y. o.) by car. An ambulance brought the severely injured woman to the hospital, where an emergency surgery was carried out. At present there is no longer any acute danger to the victim’s life. The perpetrator was arrested on Sunday evening in Schleswig-Holstein as part of the intensive and extensive search on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Marburg public prosecutor’s office at the Marburg district court. The children accompanied by him were taken into care unharmed. According to the current state of investigations, the public prosecutor’s office and the criminal investigation department assume jealousy as a motive for the crime.
