In colourful cartoon pictures (above), the YouTube videos uploaded by the Islamic Centre Iman Ali (“izia” Vienna) refer to the supposed depravity of Western society. Homosexuality allegedly is wrong and same-sex marriages bad for the continued existence of mankind, while the headscarf would also be very good for little girls. The Islamic Centre is located on a property belonging to the state of Iran in the Vienna district of Floridsdorf. As the Austrian representative of the official Iranian religious doctrine, “izia” is constantly in close contact with the Iranian embassy. The centre had recently hit the headlines because of the alleged running of a mosque (including Friday prayer), but this is not permitted in the industrial estate. According to well-informed sources, the centre is also involved in the anti-Semitic rallies for the so-called Al-Quds Day, in which small children with toy weapons and in uniform marched along in Vienna. Yesterday, the Iranian Embassy responsible for press enquiries had no comment to make on the YouTube videos.
